Commuter Destination sounds like something I'd install in a heartbeat. I've always struggled to find overburdened or unused public transport lines and I hope this will finally help.
Its great. You definitely have to interpret it, but more info is always good.
I already have most of these mods, but still learned a thing or two from this video. Thanks so much!
You’re welcome! I’m glad it helped :)
You're becoming my favourite CS youtuber by far, just need you to start uploading your builds here, your tutorials are the best I've seen mate
I really appreciate it!
Me: No more mods, my PC is already struggling
*_*New video comes out*_*
Me: Time to mass subscribe to 10 more mods and 100 more assets Bois!✊
Our poor pc’s 😂
You need to download some more ram, 128gb more should do the trick.
😁
@@Bendigo1 just increasing ram will do ,though the motherboard and gui is crappy?
@@Sathish_12 it might help. Cities skylines is very cpu and ram intensive. A good graphics card will help it look better but won't help it run much better.
@@Bendigo1 I have actually been thinking that, when and/or if, the developers make Cities: Skylines 2, that they should make it so that if you have a 2nd graphics card, you should be able to enable the use of that to alleviate some of the heavy CPU loads that the game needs to run its simulations.
Your clearly articulated presentations and your well detailed explanations have definitely added to my understanding and enjoyment of the game!
Highest quality content as always YUMBL, certainly going to get that Commuter Destination and hopefully fix some overloaded bus stops!
Enjoy!
I seriously appreciate and enjoy your explanation of every single video you create.
Thank you very much! :)
Thank You Yumbl ! You made my day ! Some mods here I knew, but definitively answers I was looking for, for such a long time ... You're one of my favorite city builders. Love Biffa too in a more comic/ludic way :-) Keep it up ! and Thank you again !!!
Thank you very much! :)
i just saw this and clicked instantly. thanks for the recommendations, funny enough there that one node to close to another that wasnt going away in my city lol.
Thanks a lot! :)
Awesome. Great how to video again. Can’t thank you enough. I love playing this game in my free time (when I have some - Lol). Keep them coming. You had me at MODS!!
Thank you! Definitely more to come :)
Another great video, thanks for posting it! Also, pro-gamer move adding timestamps to the mods-super helpful!
Thanks giffy! :)
Just amazing to me how much the modding community has continued to improve this game year after year
excellent video as always! really enjoyed learning more about some of the amazing mods in cities!
Thanks Kaiielle! :)
Hey YUMBL! I just happened to stumble upon one of your road tutorial videos a few days ago. Now I have just seen this one. I really have to say, that your narration, explanation, tips and everything in between are really helpful to me! Glad to have people like you around! You've got yourself another subscriber! Keep up the good work, much love from The Netherlands!
Thanks a lot! And welcome in :)
Another excellent video!
I particularly liked the section on the new Commuter Path mod. You explained that very well and gave good examples. That could be a valuable video on it's own for people searching for info on that specific mod.
Thanks Yumble!!
I wish i had a bigger city to explore that mod with! Its quite powerful.
I'm glad you like the mod Matthew, thanks a lot!
awesome mods, I'll have to try some of them out!
Enjoy!
Once again, you delivered a great video. Adding yet another mod to my growing list. Thank you for your time in creating these awesome videos.
I’m glad you liked it! :)
Loving the channel! Also, thanks for the laugh. Seems you have some Aussie twitch viewers going but the use of the 120 Collins Street and naming the pool after Harold Holt.....hahaha
One other thing, with Advanced Vehicle Options, I like how you can increase/decrease the amount of passengers a certain vehicle can take (mostly of transit vehicles)
I have a pretty solid Aussie viewer base, yes 😂
So excited for more videos, keep em coming man. You're doing great 👍
I really appreciate it :)
nice selection of mods, im digging the content youve been putting out lately.
Thanks a lot! Def more to come :)
The like to dislike ratio is insane. Never seen it before!
Thank you :)
I think the expression is "Preaching to the choir"
I'm really glad I've found your channel! Great stuff, great voice! Subbed!
Welcome in :)
Great content! Would love to see you do a map with lots of elevation (mountains, waterfalls…) on 81 Squares. Adds a lot of new challenges, such as avoiding road & building deformation, water physics that you don’t get on billiard table maps and would like your perspective. Resources limits are also tricky to manage on 81 squares. Would be great for a series.
Just a small thing for the vehicle spawner mod.
If you have something like the Hyperloop tracks / station / train.
You can prevent the Hyperloop train from spawning and then when you make a line have that specific train line use the Hyperloop train. It will spawn for that specific line, but won't spawn anywhere else.
Awesome guide....I've got some of these but love the Theme Mixer mod especially. Your videos are very inspiring - getting on Twitch right now!
Have fun!
Very nice and clear explanation!
Thank you :)
Defiantly gonna try the Transport Mod and get the Yumbl tram for sure. Quality video. Enjoyed it very much.
Thank you! :)
Actually, the game only lets you buy 9 tiles. 25 tiles is a mod too (that actually has less bugs than the 81 tiles mod, since the game doesn’t manage well infrastructure placed outside the 25 tiles
Whoa! Its been so long since i bought a tile 😂
Dude, I love you're channel ! Subbed and liked ! Keep ' em coming.
Thank you :)
Dude, I really need to catch your streams. You've been the most helpful UA-camr for Cities: Skylines. Thanks!
I’m glad to hear it! And yes, please stop by sometime :)
Thank you that help for me!
:)
良い動画ありがとうございました。初心者なので、勉強させてもらいます!
Two of these, I didn't have! Thanks. I'd love to see a video on all the different road options, too. NExt2, BIG, Vanilla++, etc (especially to replace NExt2, since it's having problems lately for many people).
Networks deserve their own vid for sure. I did one on “big urban roads”, but thats only part of it.
Love your channel. Many helpful tips. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for watching!
Great video as always! Wouldnt mind a video where you showcase one of your cities :)
Once this one develops a bit more i’d love to get some nice shots of it
Gotta get Commuter Destination now.
I use AVO to add an entire extra level of realism to my city. I use the acceleration options for each custom vehicle (no ugly donut or hot dog vans in my city!) Small sports cars accelerate very quickly, sedans a bit more slowly but not bad. Big trucks accelerate like snails. When I fix traffic problems in my city I actually have to take into account the types of vehicles using the problem road and adjust accordingly. Makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes but the results are always worth it.
I have a lot of roads in my road menu and finding the one I used can be a pain. So I use the Net Picker mod by Electrix. Select the picker, then select the road you want and the road menu opens with the road already selected. Really comes in handy when I want to expand a portion of my city using the same road.
I keep emergency vehicles under control with the Enhanced District Services mod (EDS, I use an old version.) The new version looks better but requires extra setup. But it is nice not having emergency vehicles trying to cross the entire city.
Sounds great!!!
Cant thank you enough for all your efforts!! Amazing channel, you need much more subs. Definitely start a build series on youtube, it will grow the channel for sure. All the best YUMBL!!
Thank you :)
An excellent video... thanks 😊
Thank you! :)
wonderful video 😌 I see you changed the thumbnail a bit from the teaser you showed on stream. This one also looks good 😌
I did! Thanks for watching :)
“Death waves aren’t a real like thing”
Boomers: *exist*
I work in deathcare and can confirm, death waves are a VERY real thing.
In my understanding cims move in at the exact same age and live for exactly 3 years. I think that the real world will have trends and neighborhoods will grow old at similar times, but thats far more random than what Cities offers by default. I still definitely recommend lifecycle rebalanced.
@@YUMBL I was more so making fun of how the game handles things related to death. Another thing is almost no funeral home I know of uses a hearse to do transfers (collect the dead). Instead pretty much all funeral homes use either minivans with no rear seats, or unmarked vans to be as discreet as possible.
I would love it if you could maybe make up a collection of all the custom vehicles you use/would recommend, as it is a bit overwhelming trying to find a specific kind of vehicle in the workshop and all of the ones you use look amazing! Also thanks for an amazing video Yumble!
Thanks a lot! My “about” page has my workshop linked, and the vehicles are in there.
11:24 - I saw people mentioning a bug with 81 tiles that every time you buy a tile, existing metro lines and stations move one increment deeper, so I think you have to first buy all tiles and then build metro lines in order to prevent that bug
yeah I love AVO cause it allows you to make the acceleration and deceleration performance far more realistic and I love it
Love your videos Yumbl. You are my new favourite player/designer on UA-cam.
I’m honored! Thank you very much :)
The assets that Building Themes needs kills my eight year old processor, 16gb of ram, and my GTX 770. I really like how in depth you go explaining the mods and how they work.
You can use whatever assets you want, and if the trees or props from the assets are too heavy you can use “BoB” to switch them :)
I think Realistic Population mod sets all LowRes buildings to 1 household, which doesn't always make sense. Especially if you download various buildings. But you can change the number for each building in-game.
So if I see a building that is obviously a small appartment complex, I go and change it to 2, 4, 6, whatever I feel is realistic for that building. It will save this for all buildings using that asset.
Agreed! Editing the default numbers can be important.
Love your videos. I pause all other work to see your videos. Also the functionalities of theme mixer and improved public transport 2 are available in the base game...atleast it is for me because I don't have these mods yet I can do what you are doing in this game.. you can select themes now for districts and also vehicles for each line and set no of vehicles for each line in the base game
Thx I was really trying to figure out how to spawn a. Specific theme.. I don’t know if you heard if two dollar twenty he is a UA-camr in cities skylines.. and I was wondering how he only spawned a specific theme. Thanks this helped out so much!! 😊 here is a sub
An alternative to Improved Public Transport 2 that I really like is Transport Lines Manager 14. It's insanely powerful and gives you full power over setting up bus schedules based on time of day with alternate pricing and all sorts of awesome stuff. With the latest update it got a lot easier to use, though it still has a lot of improvements before I would call it easy to use.
excellent video
Thank you! :)
With that mod for the camera it gives me finer control when I use my six degrees of freedom mouse (SpaceMouse), which already gives me easy control of moving the camera on the x-axis, y-axis & z-axis as well as rotating on each of those axises separate from mouse movements, all you have to do is configure the mouse to to NOT effect the camera movement.
I basically built my system specifically for playing CSL (Max RAM,etc) so I am jus holding off from updating my motherboard until either it can no longer run the game with all of the mods that I want running or hopefully until CSL 2.0 comes out then I will just build the system to be twice the recommend system specs for the game or twice the recommend specs for Win11, which ever is higher.
COVID most likely messed up all of CO's plans for finishing version 2.0 but they seem to be hiring all of the best CSL mod makers (Bloody Penguin, Boformer, etc) it's almost a given that most if not all of the functionality of all the best of the current mods will be already be a part of version 2.0.
On the building themes by district, applying to the whole city isn't actually a bad idea, won't actually fubar your game in any way, and is actually meant to keep your city as a whole looking a specific way until you set down districts and specify styles for those districts. Vanilla building behavior is to select buildings from the map's default theme and all your workshop buildings for any and all zones OUTSIDE of a district with a selected theme. The mod's behavior is the same, except it also throws in which ever vanilla theme is NOT the map's default building set. The functionality is just like policies in general... you can apply a citywide policy, but then turn that policy off for a specific district in it's district specific policies tab, or, leave it alone and whatever city wide selection is in effect will be in effect inside the district until you specify otherwise.
In addition to Advanced Vehicle Options, you can add the vehicles you don't like to the Loading Screen Mod skip-list, so they don't even load in. I need to set this up along with AVO as the default vehicles are just too silly, and especially for the cargo trucks, they aren't really appropriately balanced to an actual large city. Should save on some loading time and possibly memory usage.
Great idea! I haven’t manually managed my LSM list yet. Theres a ton of vanilla content I dont need though. Excellent!
What I like most when I look at your city: the wide sidewalks! I think it just looks hideous how close the vanilla buildings are to the street.
You know what would be cool? Joining 5b1c 2 atleast as a guest to organize their modpacks and stuff
I’d probably want to build 😂
@@YUMBL building and sorting mods then
@@YUMBL now I did mention #5b1c to you last vid ;)
Along with the hotdog, donut, and bug vans, you have to get rid of that annoying personal electric chair. I hate seeing that thing running down the fast lane of the highway.
Same here!
What spec is your PC mate? Great videos, keep them coming!
Thank you! i7 8700k, rtx 2060, and 48gb of ram
Once again, really really useful. I sadly couldn't play cities for about a month. But I seem to have fixed it now, so I can finally play again. Your videos are very helpful for setting up mods and learning more things about the game in general! :D Thank's so much mate!
Thank you! You can subscribe to all mods and assets in the steam workshop
@@YUMBL Oh, well yeah i know how the mod thing works but is there just a section called assets where I can download them??
All of the categories on the right. Check the boxes
@@YUMBL Oh, i see:) My bad haha!
Thank's for the quick help! :D
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
I love the American Eclectic theme. I always use it.
Great assets :)
First of all, love you yumbl, second of all, anyway to bypass the requirement for level 1 buildings in building themes?
Thanks a lot! Theres a mod for controlling the level of districts. I just cant remember what its called.
I did chuckle at the 81 tile mod section, not gonna lie. 9 tiles is the vanilla experience, so thinking its 25 is a bit funny, since the difference is so big even there XD
Its been so long since I learned on Switch 😂
i added a few mods from this video, thx!
You’re welcome! :)
Always wonderful explain. I'm still waiting a video with "Enhanced district service" mod, and, if u want go beyond, "Advanced Buildings Editor" mod :)
I havent tried it yet. You’ll know when I do!
@@YUMBL and I'll be here :)
Great video! I'm the author of the Commuter Destination mod, thanks a lot for including it!
Hey! Thanks for making it. Its a great visualization tool :)
Unfortunately, this mod doesn’t seem to work properly anymore. Lots of people experiencing issues with the icon disappearing…
@@AshleyDeutschmann I have investigated these reports and haven't been able to replicate it in the latest version of the game with the mods they've reported with :/
@@the_jkm Okay, thanks. I've held off trying it because of the comments saying it's not working, but I'll give it a try tomorrow. Thanks so much for replying ☺️👍
@@AshleyDeutschmann if you encounter any issues please post some details on the Steam page. It definitely has a conflict with some mod, I just can't find out which one!
First of, thanks for all the vids, been following for a couple months now, awesome content. In relation to Elektrix's Road Tools, I'd really like to subscribe, but reading the comments for that mod, lots of people complaining. Have you noticed any problems?
I’ve never had an issue with it
15:07 i have had similar things happen to me in arguements as well. And its always hilarious
I appreciate the way u in depth on how to use the mod. It is so important to give us tutorial on all those mods❤️❤️❤️😇 maybe one episode one mod in depth explaination would be more helpful too. Please do it for us🙏🙏🙏
Which mod do you want to see in depth?
U did such a great job on each mod explaination ❤️❤️ i dont mind u go deeper on each mod settings such as all the check box in the option menu. Even how u r such professional! Cant wait the official cities skylines feature u in thier episode! Root for u!💪❤️
Thank you!!!
I see you there Corndogz building theme.
An instant classic! 😂
Very good. You just forgot Real Time. I am surprised to not hear much about it, despite it being as important as TM:PE
You’re right, i did not list every mod 😂
I do the vehicles last as right now I am trying to get back into the flow of things.
Hey Yumble, would you recommend using Advanced Vehicle Options if you have a rig with 16gb ram? Thanks for the videos. Love the content.
I would! The subscribed vehicles don’t tend to take up too much space, and AVO is great for removing unwanted vehicles.
Very nice video ! Hope one day i will play on PC😭😭
thank you for showing how to use them instead of just naming them
You’re welcome :)
Definitely love how you actually teach how to use these mods instead of just making them and list features. PARADOX INTERACTIVE needs to have you do a sponsored video series for their social media pages... UA-cam Facebook Instagram
Let em know! 😂
Imagine what would be possible merging transport fever and cities skylines, My god, what a nice game that would be
I somehow haven’t played Transport Fever. A lot of crossover between the communities though.
Love these mods
Good!
Upload some of your twitch cities on UA-cam. Love the commentary along with the build
Nice vid. Just got into city builds is there a max number of mods you can load into before they start overloading or can you just keep adding more mods and assets?
It mostly depends on your computer. The tame will let you try to load whatever you want, but your computer may run out of resources.
Mods will tend to bog down the CPU as your processor will have a larger workload with every new mod. Not all mods are equal so depending on what you get you might be able to run a lot or only a few. Generally though having a couple dozen shouldn't be a problem except on lower end hardware. For workshop assets, about 1200 / 16gb of RAM is a good number. I have 32gb with a little over 2100 assets and my RAM use is in the 20's. I'm actually thinking about upgrading to 64gb just so I can get more custom assets! XD
81 tiles is buggy. It sinks your underground metro to as low as it can go over time (48 metres or so). Any transition you have from grand to underground gets really ugly. While it's nice to have the entire map available, the bugs just are not worth it IMHO. Have you found anything for rendering underground tunnels? (metro, sunken rail lines, etc.) Going to have to try some of these other mods though, AVO and Realistic Population. Glad I found your channel.
Welcome in David! The rendering of tunnels is all network dependent. Clus has some great rendered tracks imo. Enjoy!
Vanilla game added some transport line manager type thing. Cant remember in which version, but it has.
Interesting. I’ve never seen it.
Thats really Great.
I hope that cities sklines developer will add flight simulator to cities skyline so we eill be able to fly iver this beautiful city.
Great idea!
Great video Yumbl, I like Improved Public Transport 2 but I'm more interested in increasing the total passengers of a vehicle, is it possible?
It is with advanced vehicle options I believe. Within the transit menu when looking at a line
Wow, that's a nice map and those are really nice condos! Have you posted anywhere which assets you are using? Could you also please tell me the name of the map?
Also, I LOVED this guide, it made me rethink my choice of mods, for example, I didn't really care for the commuter destination but now I realize how powerful it can be, thank you!
Thanks for watching! My mods are in my about page. The map is called rolling waters.
@@YUMBL wow fast reply! yea i was a bit silly, see them now tysm
you won a subscriptor bro
Thanks a lot :)
Love you Videos - Kepp up the great work.
Can you tell me how you manage to make you own "tram"?
Thank you! My friend BlueThunder made all the YUMBL transit assets for fun :)
16:32 at the right hand side, why is there multiple turn lanes onto a bend?
Ah yes, recommendation again :D
Welcome back :)
@YUMBLtv. Since you have so many mods, how do you know what mod is faulty or expired after a long period of time causing your game to not open or crash?
I’m always checking the most popular new mod releases to see whats being improved and replaced.
I just wanna know the best road mods for American cities that works with the zoning mod from first video. I like network 2 but won’t work with the zoning mod
I also use American Eclectic
Excellent video, hot dog van needs to go.
But also, have anyone ever figured out how to prohibit the ore trucks from going out to the highways/motorways? Also big rigs are going to get ore in the quarry. Is this even addressable?
You’d have to swap out that type of vehicle using that same mod. “Advanced vehicle options”
I'd like to know more about some of your buildings, like that Target and Best Buy. Was that growable, or did you plop a custom asset? What's it called?
Those are custom. Look up “King Leno”’s assets in the workshop
12.888 views, 855 Likes, 0 Dislikes. Nice ratio :D Thank u for the great video!
Thanks for watching :)
Do you have a link to your Steam asset subscriptions? I want several of the ones you have please!
Check the links in my about page
Omg this tram is from my city
Any body know what mods conflict with fine road tools 2? It’s in the options but the UI never comes up unless I unsubscribe to road anarchy. From videos I’ve see a lot of people using both so I’m thinking it has to be another popular mod
Check in the description/wiki. Anarchy and road tools are meant to work together, so it has to be something else.
0:12 that bus terminal is beautiful. is it part of a DLC or is it from the workshop?
That one is by BlueThunder in the steam workshop :)
@@YUMBL thank you so much for the quick response! i’ve been binging your videos over the past few days. you have an awesome channel. keep up the good work!
Great video bro. My new city is mostly inspired by your tips and tricks which helps me a lot to customize it.
Can I know name of the theme that u applied to this city? I have theme mixer 2.
It is really beautiful and I want to use the same theme apply to my city. But I am playing on my laptop with less RAM so downloading every assets to test is not my thing. so please...
Thank u.
Thats awesome! I’m glad the videos helped :) I’m not sure exactly what themes I used. I have a bunch and I picked each element by feel. The good news is that the themes are generally the most popular ones.
@@YUMBL thank u very much for your reply. Heading to steam workshop.
looking forward to your next upcoming video.
How did you get the mods sorted alphabetically in that settings window? In my window they are totally mixed up :-(
“Sort mod order” is the mod.
What would you say the best mod that rebalances things like power consumption and rubbish output
When you didn’t build the corkscrew and said we’ll live... we died. Thanks
Glad I could help! 😂
