Walked into an estate sale yesterday late afternoon. Asked how much the reel to reels were. “$5 ea.” she says, I ask how many do I have to buy to get a price break and she says “30 @ $3 ea, or take em all for $200”……… I walked out of there with 350+ reel to reels for $200!!!. Thanks you 2, I didn’t even know what these were 3 weeks ago?
P.S. I listed as many as I could in the car last night while my wife and daughter were at a Noah Kahn concert (45 listings - $1800), already sold 4!

That's incredible, congrats on the score. I first found out when I found some at a garage sale about 5 years ago - I show up and there's a local reseller I recognized at the sale already. He's digging through stacks of VHS tapes or something. I walk past him and find a few bags of reels. End up buying 34 of them for $17 and after a few weeks had them all sold for over $2500 - that lot had some really rare heavy metal stuff. Since then I'm always on the look out for them but there are not really that many out there to be found I don't think. Glad you got that amazing score, please let us know once you get them all listed what the total of the listings is. It's going to be insane.
Unfortunately mine aren’t as cool as heavy metal or rock. All mine are old old old. Ray conniff dean martin Al Hirt Billy Vaughn . But on a plus side, atleast 100 of them are still factory sealed. My guess after having listed about 80 of them so far is it’s gonna be around $5000-$6000 by time I’m done listing (we’ll see what kinda offers I accept though 😬)

Hi Candace and Loni, on the priority box you resized, why didn't you just use a 1092, or 1095 or 1097 box? You would not have to resize it and they are still free priority boxes from USPS.
Oh yes half my product goes out in 8x6x4 and 7x5x5. The rest goes into many other boxes. I also use a lot of craft to wrap well packed manufacturer boxes.
I agree that early-mid August is typically slow for me. So many people have their mind on back-to-school, even if not their wallets. Then the kids go back & suddenly it's "the holiday season!" and people start buying up fall & holiday merchandise & gifts.
Candice (and friends) plain old rubbing alcohol will take that black marker .25 cents off the pantyhose package. In this case the buyer probably doesn't care. shes just happy to find them.
I would investigated cardboard framing for those printer comic sheets...would probably sell better that way. Interesting buy.
Personally, I would list those comic pages individually, but that is a lot of work and processing. Lots of people would buy them to frame and hang up a certain scene. If you have ones with with notable images or popular scenes you could have some very very high dollar items. People love original production stuff when it comes to pop culture topics and there being no similar comps for any of that stuff could let y'all set the price pretty high.
If those comic strips are original, Jack Kirbys family would love to have them. They will pay a premium for his old work due to it being 'taken' from him.
Hey guys. Sorry. It's a bit long & I Hope you get this. I was just wondering being new to ebay I started using the platform to sell like last October or November time frame. I do understand everyone has different results but can you let us know about how many items you list a day and your daily orders and always when they come in or some days you have none, ect .. don't have to be exact number just a medium or idea. I know it sounds strange but everyone says list to get sales. I did that listed 7 items per day I did get not discouraged but confused or maybe both. Ebay will do that, but boom thurs-sun I said ok let me see if it's true did that 7 a day and boom got sales, on Monday sometimes maybe Tuesday but that's it? Did another 7 for like 2 weeks sold on Monday So I amped it up to 9 but it seems like I list and list and will get orders in a Monday only. With like 2-3 sales. My items are more high dollar Sold a Chinese table screen and a vintage weight scale good money but that's it. And if I check back with you I bet I sell a good money amount next Monday but on Monday only and that's it...? So I'm just trying to gauge how many I should list maybe that would help.

at the 40min mark I do the same thing with my boxes...however I found a trick to make that box two boxes...cut it in 1/2 - you should have plenty of box left for the flaps - and if its just a tab short add a piece of scrap cardboard in the middle of the short flaps and boom - you just doubled your boxes with no integrity issues.
Damn Lonnie you start vaping now? great i have a geekvape too, mine is the Legend 2. edit: my advice would be that you should hydrated yourself more(better drink a lot of water, not soda). i've been vaping for more than 4 years.
I worked @ the newspaper for 23 yrs. Part of my duties was to cut the comics each week. They would come in a week @ a time, photocopies - not originals. You could tell what day it was supposed to run by looking in one of the panels for the date, which would normally also be by the creators signature - every strip would have the date on one of the panels. Every newspaper would subscribe to certain comic strips - not every newspaper carried the same exact comics.
I would have to cut each days out with an Exacto knife, then put them through our (bees wax) waxer - which is how we got them to stick to our comics page. Each comic had a certain space to be put on every day, when the whole page was pasted with the new comics we would send them to our camera room so they could make a negative, which would then be made into a plate to run on the printing press. They would be changed out daily.
I would think they would be worth something to junk journalists and others like that. There were so many photocopies made & sent to every newspaper in the country, I’m not sure if there’s a value in them themselves(?). Now, the originals are a different story but I didn’t notice you had any artists’ originals.

I made myself a chart of the weight of my boxes that I have in multiples, so I don't have to pull out the box. Over time you just get good at guestimating though.
Random Question: In the past I have learned from yall about not selling certain things like police and other uniform items ect. Since you worked in casinos do you know if there are any issues around selling vintage casino dice and things like that? Could someone use them in a not so wholesome way? I recently got some in an auction pick up and most of the dice are from places that are no longer open but a few still are open today. What are your thoughts?
Suiper7 figures are going to be quite recent as the company only started up around 2000. I think they are US-based although, of course, everything is manufactured in China. One of our clients in my day job is a distributor for Super7 in Europe and we've been shipping pretty high volumes this year. We've had some days recently shipping 500+ figures to customers so it's fair to say they aren't going to be rare any time soon... . Most current releases not very costly--top end is around £250 ($300) with carded 3.75" figures retailing around £6 ($8).
The quality is OK, not up to something like McFarlane but acceptable. I've not looked at demand or value for retired products (if only because I've never come across any in my sourcing). I'll be interested to see how yours sell having handled so many at work.
I use a variety of boxes but I agree the 8x6x4 is the most used box for me.

If you take an action figure out of its Original Package (as you said you would when you were packing the Scarlet Witch) don't you lose a pretty substantial amount of profit? It seems like a "New In Package" figure would be worth a LOT more than the price of an opened figure, and I was looking for clarity on that.
Usually yes, but we did the research and breaking them open made sense this time on some of them. Decision was based on data, not just a whim.

those may be paper plates for printing - those cross hairs are to determine registration of multiple colors in the printing process
Lonnie the colored sheets are called color guides and show the printer the colors to be used. The others are high res copies for the printing process. They are cool. Are you interested in selling any? Let me know I am a collector.

Those are keylines done by a graphic designer and are what went to the printer to shoot plates from, everything is in position and they’re shot as is. The Xs in the middle are registration marks, color was printed one color at at time and they had to match up. There should be a keyline for each color.

A lot of certain toy lines were over produced but also relaunched lines in the year 2020 resulted in lots of delays in shipping which is why certain series headed case fresh to discount outlets.

Start with "comic proof sheets"?
I spent all this time yesterday going through my eBay store and placing the Custom Label (SKU) on items locations trying to get organized. I sold an item today and I can't find the SKU number. How do you and everyone else see the SKU number after an item sells? The only way I found to see it is go to the sold item and hit revise (if its a qty item) or sell similar (if it's a one off) to see it under the Title section on my desktop. Hope you have the answer if you even get to read this comment. Thanks and keep up the amazing work, you're awesome and very helpful!
On the "Orders Awaiting Shipment" view the custom sku field is shown, just below the item title. Same thing on mobile app.
@@shedflips Thanks for trying to help. For some reason mine are not showing on the desktop or on the app. I just went through and did it all yesterday (Changing/updating on all my active listings). Maybe it only works on new listings? I called eBay customer service and they told me the SKU was not an option anymore but eBay was working to have it fixed by 2024. That doesn't sound correct to me because I see a lot of people using it. Seems like eBay customer service always tells you that when they don't know the answer.
The pages kinda look like proofs or color guides, normally 20-100 a sheet depending on subject, artist, and age. Most being on the lower end.... if its actual orginal art it would be 50 to 10k or more a sheet.

I print the label right after I pack the item and stick it on the box. I make too many mistakes to trust myself to bulk print the labels.
Those are NJPW figures, they are with AEW promotion & TNT wrestling. The NJPW is extreme wrestling with Fire, Glass weapons
When taking pictures, I will take a picture of the item for my main pic. Once you look at the rest of the pictures, you will see the original box and the coa or other paperwork along with the original Styrofoam packaging. My question is, for my MAIN pic, should I show everything that the customer will receive or just the item im selling on Ebay

Those New Japan action figures might be a hit, im a wrestling fan and NJPW is massive in Japan and lots of hardcore fans in the US, didn't even know they had a figure line, pretty cool!
6x6x6, 8x8x8, 10x10x10, 12x12x12, 8x6x4, 10x8x6, 12x10x8 and larger mostly for me. I do a lot of breakables, so the larger sizes tend to get more use.
*When you mentioned Grainger a couple weeks ago I did a little math. Their boxes generally cost less than Walmart and are much sturdier than walmart's poor quality recycled boxes.

looks like you have a few good hints for comic strips. i was going to remind you the artist/name of strip will be first value of strips. check for strips short lived due to artist illness and death. also looked up and saw newspaper comic strip buy and sell sights where they may direct to collector groups.
Back in the 70s 80s these would have been comic strip galleys made up to put in newspapers as space allotted. Artist drawn, shot on camera and run out on rc paper, cut waxed and placed on galleys for use as needed
Most Often Used Brown Boxes at my packing bench are the 6x5x5 and the 8 x 6 x 4. I especially like the 8x6x4 to slide into the USPS Padded Flat Rate Bubble Mailer, cut down a bit in height to slide right in, when the item needs to be boxed and is heavy for its size.
New Japan pro wrestling is a massive brand pretty cool you have the figures from there but I think the figures for new Japan are more broadcaster to an American audience then British cause ive not seen them here
Little Ice Chests: yes, they are great for shipping. I get them from a diabetic friend who mail orders his Insulin. So every time he gets an order, I get a cardboard shipping box with one of those white insulated boxes inside it.

Pre-packing Items: another issue in addition to the space it takes, is that when a buyer puts 2 (or more) items in the same order, you’d have to unpack and re-pack the multiples to fill the order.
When I’m creating a listing and think an item, once boxed, will push the label cost over a step increment for buying the label, I lay the unfolded box flat on the scale and lay the item on top. Then if I’m still concerned, I lay the bubble sheet on top of that. If it’s close, I consider trimming some off the flaps too, when it comes time to ship.
The rest of the time I just weigh the item solo and guess at which increment it will fall between. The time saved being able to make the decision faster, helps offset the occasional extra cost on the few occasions I guess wrong. 😉

Have you ever watched the Auction professor? He does a lot of bulk paper items. He has some videos on his storage methods for bulk. He separates them in batches of like 25 so finding individual ones isn't too bad. Maybe something to look at?
You should consider contacting Heritage Auctions. At least see if they have sold some of these and get some comps.

Took me park to my ‘manual makeup days’ at one of the many prepress jobs in the 80’s. They were run through a wax machine to create a page layout to be shot to make film for the printing process. Those cuts were made with X-Acto knives on big light tables. The same thing page layout apps do now.

Pantyhose 25 cent Ink Marker: try putting a few drops of Acetone (nail polish Remover) on a soft rag and lightly rub back and forth. Usually works, but don’t aggressively rub or the finish on the package might come off. Acetone is my GoTo for ink on packages! 😉

I don’t. I have heard of people using pool noodles. Cut to size, on slit down the length to pad the edges
With the starwars newspaper strips, the phrase you are looking for is "bromide production art", these are high quality photographic prints of original art for collection republication, while not as valuable as original art, they do have some value. to me, the other pages like the black hole ones are the linework for printing a colour copy, not the original art, but part of the production in making a comic, the crosses are registration marks in printing (for lining up CMYK/RGB overlays)

When I first started. I made a list of box dimensions and box weight.
From what little knowledge I have of publishing, the stuff you have looks great but the only thing is that publications all over the States and probably the world will have got similar copy to use under syndication, i worked on a golf magazine and we used a local golfer for golf tuition in the magazine until he got very successful and he looked for a load more money, We got another guy called Tiger instead and paid a load less but his lessons were shared with loads of mags, On the upside, there can't be many left all these years later, only research will tell,, great to watch and see!
Yeh no doubt, those were sent to every single newspaper. Question is how many survivors are there? I'm guessing most of that stuff got destroyed, not finding a ton of it at least so far.
