One summer night, my friend and I were riding on my Vespa. Suddenly we were hit with Sauvage, hit while moving, mind you. Someone in the car in front of us had oversprayed SO MUCH, that we could smell them, whether stopped at a light or going 45 mph. It choked us out, it was so overpowering, it was IN-SANE; can’t imagine how his passengers felt.
You need to know your fragrance and know the setting, weak fragrance and you’re outdoor then overspray, strong fragrance and you’re indoor, then 1-2 spray is more than enough
So what do you do if you're gonna be outdoors but have a 30-45 min car ride with other people? I wanna overspray for outdoor but I don't want to choke out the people while we're driving.
It's not just the potency of the fragrance it's also you're skin chemistry that plays a big part ! I have extremely dry skin and a lot of these so called beast mode fragrances actually sit a lot closer to my skin and won't have much longevity unless I apply more. There are very few fragrances in my collection that are so nuclear off my skin that 3 or 4 sprays are good enough.
I too have dry skin. I found I have to moisturize to get the fragrance to have longevity. I add a mix I make to a spray bottle and spray on my skin. It locks in moisture and helps fragrance to bond to my skin. I add hyaluronic acid serum, silk peptide powder and sometimes glycerine to pure rose water. The hyaluronic acids retains moisture on the skin so well. If my skin is overly dry as soon as I get out of the shower I add a blend of oils to a dropper bottle and massage into my skin before I add the rose water mix. I often top it off with a good moisturizer like cera ve or even Delina dry body oil or body cream if I am using a de marly fragrance. Even just using something like Cera ve alike helps detail moisture and helps lock in scent. Especially if the skin is already Damp. A good perfume primer can also help. I find these tricks help me so much.
Usually 3-5 for cold weather beasts. At below freezing I sprayed Carlisle 5 times and 12 hours later it still pushed! Incredible! Summer fresh I'll average 5. Surprisingly the back of the neck creates a awesome sillage that doesn't choke out but definitely gets noticed.

A lot of UA-camrs are encouraging people to overspray, and I always think that this is due to three possibilities: 1) They go nose blind like, right away 2) They want you to overspray so that you waste your fragrances and then you'll have to buy more (SPONSORSHIP) 3) They have the sad need to draw attention at all costs, even if that can suffocate the people around them My takes on the matter are basically the same as you said on this video: The amount of sprays will depend on how strong or weak the fragrance is, as well as the environment that you will be. Learning how to wear perfumes accordingly with these factors and the skin traits that you have (oily, dry, sensitive skin), will make you smell great and be noticed in a much more elegant way, without offending anyone.
I'm an over sprayer with all my fragrances being that my skin eats up scents... I do 15 to 30 sprays and funny thing is nobody complains that's its too much.. people tell me they smell me down the street so it leaves a trail... so it actually depends on body chemistry
My sprays as follows; Weak like Tommy Bahamas 10-12 inside. Moderate performance like Prada Lhomme 3-4 inside, 5-6 outside. Stronger performer’s like YSL EDP 1-2 inside, 3-4 outside. Beast Mode fragrances no office, 1-2 outside type of action.
NEVER overspray with cheapies,it's synthetic and sharp U can overspray with like niche fragrances like Parfums de Marley Pegasus, they don't project as much as cheapies.
For me, the absolute stop line is once I can smell the full character of the perfume on myself. I'll often stop before that with many fragrances, but that is the hard stop line in all cases for me.
Yeah that’s also the perfect test for me. You should barely be able to smell the projection on yourself. If you can smell it’s full character take it down one spray
Molecule 04 is so potent, I don’t understand it. A friend of mine made 4 sprays and we’re suffocating in the car. It’s not an unpleasant smell. It’s just too much. Amazing lol.
I do 5-10 sprays all frags by the time I leave my house and get to wear I’m going it’s been on me 20-45 mins by the time I get to my destination so the opening is gone and now I have pretty much the dry down

Do some basic sprays (4-6) aroud your neck or chest (its depend on you) like people do, then apply a few sprays on your clothes (back, shoulder, 2 side of your waist,…) and then you can smell good all day and no need to reapply. This is my routine with fresh and weak frags. If you affraid to get stain on your clothes you can apply inside your clothes. However, if you dont mind to take the decant on with you so you dont need to apply that much just a few sprays on clothes and neck and then reapply it after 3-4 hours.

Less is more. A good test is that you should barely be able to smell your fragrances at all times and others will definitely smell it. Winter frags 1-3. Fall 3-4 spring and summer usually 4-7. Girls complement me way more often with less cologne
isnt 4-7 sprays for summer too much? Mines the opposite. I do max 2-3 sprays for summer cause the heat can make it overpowering and min 4-5 sprays for winter cause the coldness makes it easier to palate overspraying.

Miss Dior blooming bouquet something like 500 lol. I wish that one was not only sold on toilette. Tom fords lost cherry- 2-3 sprays. Creed Aventus 1-2 Bond no 9 Madison square park 3-4 Other bonds vary as well. Since having Covid I am unable to smell certain notes now and overall I cannot smell fragrance the way I used to, which greatly upsets me as i love fragrance. Citrus, I always smell and most of the time woodsy notes. I need to re-train my nose with my essential oil collection so I can start noticing notes more. As always I adore your videos.
I spray like 12 sprays on average. 1 behind each ear, 1 on my Adam's apple, 1 back of the neck, 1 each shoulder, 2 on the abs, 1 on each thigh, 1 on each knee/shin.
I would never spray at my neck/Adam's apple area. I shave my beard there and the skin there is extremely sensitive. I don't even use alcohol based aftershave, only balm. Neck skin would get so red it irritates me so much... Better spray at hair than neck if you ask me lol
When you see ppl that’s famous like movie stars or singers spray their fragrance nobody is only spraying 4 they are spraying all over . If you want to be smelled then spray it ! . When you smells someone’s perfume out in public and you think it smells good best believe they did not spray four times or less
I wouldn’t even waste my money on ass performers no matter how good they may smell. And parfums usually perform great so 2-3 sprays is max for me. I connotate oversprayers with being cheap and sleazy no matter the fragrance, so I never do 🤢Women can get away with over spraying but men automatically come off corny lmao

Why would you want to give others migraines when you can simply avoid doing that simply by spraying a little less? Plus some people are allergic to perfumes like my mom. She gets sick the entire day when shes near an oversprayer.

They ruined Versace’s The Dreamer. Many Years ago it would last on my skin for up to 16 hours. It was strong. Then they reformulated it and that was the end of it. They need to bring out an EDP or Parfum version of it now and revive it and bring it back to its former power and glory.

If you apply some unscented moisturizer or petrolatum on your skin before spraying you will get a better performance from your fragrances.
