Sometimes i have a hard time seeing what i'm supposed to be doing because you're facing me/us. For me it might help to see you from the back because then my poi/hands would be doing the exact same thing as opposed to the mirror of your actions. Also when we get the view from your POV helps too but i found it made me dizzy. Isn't it funny how we each learn using different methods. That's why i find your teaching style so encouraging, you show many different tips and ideas to help the lightbulb go off in our heads.
It turns out I had been doing a 2 bit weave for so long before this. Your explanation and exercises were amazing! Allowed me to learn the 3 bit in one night! So grateful for you
I learn super fast, because of your videos. Thanks to you I can do some spinnings to show. Thank you so much for the effort and kindness that are coming from you. I will keep practise. 🙏🏻🥰
Hi Drex! I started with poi through this tutorial series a couple weeks back and I'm amazed by how good you're at teaching poi! I just managed to do the 3-Beat Weave, and I can tell by HOW IT FEELS that I'm doing it right! Thank you so much, keep doing what you do!
Thank you for doing these. I did the exercises in this video but ultimately got it from the older tutorial you posted where you transition from 2 beat to 3 beat. I love all the options!
Upvoted because you're great at explaining things and new flow artists benefit from what you upload. I will share this with everyone who asks me about getting into poi.
Thank you! The button turning has been the 'thing' that has made me finally understand this move. This is definitely my favorite of your 3 beat weave videos
I know this is an old video I just need to share because I am amazed, with this technique I pulled it off on first day trying poi, it took me about 15 mins. Still need a lot of practice of course but it came very intuitively with this video
This is the best wayto learn. I started learning poi (with basics from rope dart) with this trick on this video and it took about 30 minutes and I was doing it fast and ready to learn reverse.
I've been really struggling with the 3 beat weave. With this explination, I started to get it in 5-10 minutes and had it down with in an hour. Thank you so much
It worked for me! I’m quite a beginner, only really self taught a few tricks by playing around and only tried to learn this weave one other time (from a friend many weeks ago). It “clicked” for me right after a moment where I thought “there’s no way I’m getting this” (around 9 minutes in). Suddenly I realized I was doing it.
THIS IS MAGICAL! I had the two-beat weave locked down and tried a few tutorials to level up to three beat and never managed. Started back from scratch with your method and after forcing myself to follow your moves and taking my time it just started to work, this is the best way I've seen yet (as a newbie) this to be taught. Thank you so much for your work!
Hi Drex Very useful video. I started with poi this week and with a couple of nights practice I can now do three beat weave. Very good explanation of it. Cheers, Guy
Hi Drex! I started spinning on May 7th, and started on your old beginner series before finding your quarantine content (which is amazing btw, I am a patreon subscriber now because of this series! Thank you so much for all of this... I just got to catch up now haha). So, I did get to 2-beat weaves before getting into this series, but the technique in this video got me smoothly from 2-beat to 3-beat weaves! These are so fun to do :D
I finally got the 3-beat with this tutorial. I liked the right over left and left over right button comment. I picked up how to do this trick because of that!
This was really fantastic. Thank you so much. I couldn't quite get this from your first tutorial (I've only been spinning for 2 days, haha) but this broke everything down to a new level :)
I had such a hard time with the three beat wave until I followed this tutorial. Excellent progression and explanation. Looking forward to working with more of your tutorials as a beginner spinner! Thanks so much!!!!
Hi Drex, really Amazing.... I'm Ella from Indonesia, start my spinning last 3 Nov 23, I'm following your steps... I can do spinning and butterfly very well now, but this 3 beat weave is not easy for me...but I'm trying to get it.... Thank you so much,
Can't wait to try this later tonight, Drex! I find that, because I am legally blind, I can concentrate a lot better with my eyes closed. I mean, I learned the buzzsaw, and I find it is easier to do with my eyes closed! Maybe one day I could be the first blind, or blindfolded, Flow Artist, hahahah!
I remember learning the 3 beat weave from the 1st time you taught it years ago and only came back to learn how to teach my friend as its all muscle memory for me now so its hard to explain. This method does seem simpler so hopefully she will pick it up quicker than I did. 🙂
04/24. Gave you a shout out on my FB Story. Thanks for teaching this. It takes a LOT of practice on your brain/ hand coordination!!! Buy yay, I did it thx 2 u. ❤🎉
This is one of the tricks I get stuck on. The other one is stalls I have managed the reels, two handed figure of eight, the windmill, one handed corkscrew and the butterfly.
This one is a very curious case: it's probably the most common trick (or at least the one you see the most in festivals), yet it's one of the hardest to master for beginners (and also the true jump from beginner to intermediate level) and it's probably also the one with the most complicated or odd name (not intuitive at all, it took me months to know what the name of this was and to be able to find videos about it... 😅)... But I'm insanely grateful for people uploading this detail by detail... People doing it make it look easy, and in a way it kinda is, since it's built up from basic moves but it requires a crazy amount of practice of multiple different moves and a lot of patience, plus it's one of those "illusory moves" (pretty much like the butterfly) where the moves you have to make are not what they seem at first sight, but once you got it, it is incredible satisfying, and you start to feel competent in POI, it's like the graduation for POI enthusiasts! Thank you so much again for this great video and all of your dedication, I hope everyone trying to master this are successful with it!
Turns out I've been doing this absentmindedly before I got to this video while thinking "I wonder if this is something." We had a bit of a section of PE in high school where we used Indian Clubs and this was pretty similar to one of the exercises they taught us, so I'm glad to see it translates well to poi!
So I was able to follow everything pretty well up until 8 minutes in, then I just lost it. But somehow I can magically pull off a 3-beat weave if I turn my brain off haha! I guess I'll continue practicing it till it becomes more natural, and then I'll try to slow it down to figure how I'm doing it. Thanks for all your help!! I love your videos!!
When I found you, I didn't dig it. But I gave you a little more time and I dig it now. Good job. The "button press" changed my life Maybe don't look directly into the camera during the slowmo. Felt like you tried to steal my soul
I tried and can do the top movement but have difficulty with knowing what to do with my bottom hand. When I watch you it’s so quick. Would it be easier in the mirror so we see you the same side as us not the opposite side?
I have this done perfect where my right hand crosses over my left but I'm struggling doing it where left crosses over right my poi keep tangling have you and tips on how I can nail it down on that side because I keep trying and trying but can't seem to get it 🤔
Oooof, this one does not seem to connect with me. I do the arm thing to "push the button" but then i can't make my brain move the arm that just did the pressing while the other one has already started moving. I swear, it feels like i'm never going to get this stuff. I did it once for about 2.5cycles & as soon as i realized that it felt "right" my brain was like NO & i instantly fucked it up & can't for the life of me get it back
Sometimes i have a hard time seeing what i'm supposed to be doing because you're facing me/us. OMG I just did it! This was the most helpful way to learn the 3 beat weave. Thank you Drex!!!
It turns out I had been doing a 2 bit weave for so long before this. Your explanation and exercises were amazing! Allowed me to learn the 3 bit in one night! So grateful for you
Same, but because of the odd name (despite probably being the most common or most popular trick), it was kinda hard to pinpoint... 😅
I learn super fast, because of your videos. Thanks to you I can do some spinnings to show. Thank you so much for the effort and kindness that are coming from you. I will keep practise. 🙏🏻🥰

This way worked for me, I've been watching your other tutorials but after trying this way I finally cracked it! Thank you so much 😁
this is hands down the best tutorial for learning this move!! the exercises are sooo helpful!! thank you for your greatness hehe!!
This tutorial FINALLY got me to *get* the 3 beat weave! Thank you!
I know this is an old video I just need to share because I am amazed, with this technique I pulled it off on first day trying poi, it took me about 15 mins. Still need a lot of practice of course but it came very intuitively with this video

Best way!! Finally I did it! Thanks from Brazil

Totally just learned this trick!!! Thank you for ALL your videos!!
This way works perfectly! I have been watching your videos of learning poi during covid and always are so easy to follow and learn. Thanks so mich
Hi Drex
Very useful video. I started with poi this week and with a couple of nights practice I can now do three beat weave. Very good explanation of it. Cheers, Guy
This worked incredibly fast! Took me a while to get into the motion of the ocean but now it feels natural! Thanks 😄
Thank you so much for skillfully breaking it down to make it easy for all of us. You're a great teacher😊

me too , helps a lot
I had been stuck on a 2 beat for months and this technique got me to a 3 beat in about twenty minutes. Great method!
This was really fantastic. Thank you so much. I couldn't quite get this from your first tutorial (I've only been spinning for 2 days, haha) but this broke everything down to a new level :)
Hey,...this is a very very good video to learn ...thank you
👍🏻
Worked for me! Took about 15mins to get the full-arm swing version down. Epic schtuff! :D
I had such a hard time with the three beat wave until I followed this tutorial. Excellent progression and explanation. Looking forward to working with more of your tutorials as a beginner spinner! Thanks so much!!!!
Thank you for teaching me so much fun poi tricks!

Holy cow with this one I was able to do it in 15 min. 🥳 thank you so much, never thought I will learn it that fast 🎉
video has done miracles
This is such a great tutorial! Thanks Drex! I’m a beginner, and this is my new favourite move!❤

This worked really well, thatnk you!
Finally learnt how to do the 3-Beat Weave!! This method was super easy to grasp compared to the other methods of teaching. :)
Thanks so much!!!! I tried learning this with other tutorials without sucess but this way to learn it worked super fast 😊
Thank you for this video, worked for me!
Yess thank you!! I learnt this alot faster than i expected! :)
This was extremely easy to follow! Thank you!!!
This was explained so well! Picked it up in 10 minutes, thank you💚
04/24. Gave you a shout out on my FB Story. Thanks for teaching this. It takes a LOT of practice on your brain/ hand coordination!!! Buy yay, I did it thx 2 u. ❤🎉
Amazing tutorials, amazing teacher! I have a much easier time when there’s some slo-mo or different angles. Your videos have already taught me so much
Ty for all the tutorials help me a lot just keep going
Finally after only an hour, thanks to your teaching skills 🙌🏾, I have got it down!! 👍🏽 thanks dex 😄
Getting the three beat weave down in week 1 of poi spinning thanks to this video! 🩵💛🩷
This is one of the tricks I get stuck on. The other one is stalls I have managed the reels, two handed figure of eight, the windmill, one handed corkscrew and the butterfly.
Great lessons, great explaining, great! I love it! ❤
Many thanks to you. I finally nailed it
Congratulations! 😃
Excellent work as always Drex! I hope there is a reverse 3-Beat weave around the corner (having a hard time mentally getting that one down).
i learned 3 beat weaves yesterday through your old tutorial!! so funny

Beginner here :D Will be working on this one this week !
Thank you so much for this!! 🔮
12:12 i love this view, i find it one of the easier ways to "pick up" on learning! Thanks (;
this
It wasn’t making any sense til this. Need more first person. Hard to imagine when he is recording himself as an opposing mirror
I'm trying to learn the 3 beat weave with hoops and taught by hoopers and nothing has worked until I watched this video! Thank you!
Good job.
The "button press" changed my life
Maybe don't look directly into the camera during the slowmo. Felt like you tried to steal my soul
I still havent gotten it down, but im making more progress with this method than with the other 3
It works! I makes the trick so easy to learn!thabk you
Got it!! yooohooo, thanks Drex!!
You the man drex
Fantastic video!!
I tried and can do the top movement but have difficulty with knowing what to do with my bottom hand. When I watch you it’s so quick. Would it be easier in the mirror so we see you the same side as us not the opposite side?
Great video, Drex!
You and nick are the best💝💝
Great tutorial. Had fun with the buttons. Would u mind if i share that idea sometime?
Thank you for this video💓💓💓
thank you so much for this
Thank you. Took me 6 years to learn this damn move. Kept getting twisted in the wall plane during the cross. Couldnt figure it out.
sooo helpful thank you !!! :))))
I kept trying this, and now I learned air wraps somehow in addition to 3 beat weave XD
I already do this but i checked out how you taught it in this video and it felt way more complicated.
I have this done perfect where my right hand crosses over my left but I'm struggling doing it where left crosses over right my poi keep tangling have you and tips on how I can nail it down on that side because I keep trying and trying but can't seem to get it 🤔
i love it
what poi are you using in this video!
Oooof, this one does not seem to connect with me. I do the arm thing to "push the button" but then i can't make my brain move the arm that just did the pressing while the other one has already started moving. I swear, it feels like i'm never going to get this stuff.
I did it once for about 2.5cycles & as soon as i realized that it felt "right" my brain was like NO & i instantly fucked it up & can't for the life of me get it back
bro, do you by chance live in Hawaii?
I do not. Never been there.
Learned, but the old video was easier to learn using.
works
Not sure if I got it or not but something is happening and my hands are swapping positions so may be that’s it 😂😂😂
This did not work for me lol. I had to watch the other tutorial video and I learned using the two beat weave transition first.
You go way too fast please slow down!!
love love love!!!
