After running that center diff, what is your opinion of it vs the slip clutch? I am very new to owning an RC, the Slash Ultimate, and have been trying to learn about these types of things by watching as many videos as I can find. Your thoughts regarding this would be very appreciated my friend!
The slipper clutch has the drivetrain all connected and if the wheels stop suddenly, the slipper clutch acts like a break on a real car with pads and a disk and it slips so that the sudden stopping motion of the wheels don't damage the motor. The center diff is a bit different. It replaces the slipper clutch and makes the front and rear axles independent, so let's say that if the truck is in an awkward position, and the front wheels are on the ground and the rear wheels are in the air, the center diff allows for the rear wheels to spin while the front ones can't and this prevents a lot of strain on the drivetrain and motor. With a slipper clutch, if the front wheels were in the ground and the rear wheels were In the air, the motor would be trying to turn all 4 wheels when with the center diff, it allows for the wheels with no tension to spin the most. In my opinion, I prefer both because I run my cars on various types of terrain and a slipper clutch is perfect one type of terrain and the center diff is perfect for a different type of terrain.
