Day 6 of asking Team Coco to release a short clip of Conan playing the guitar after a show or something. No talking, just him playing a random song and actually being happy. That's all I want to see. Thank you for reading this.
God I love Conan He is just the best talk show host ever He would make a fish who recently became human and feels insecure about itself feel so accepted and relaxed
The thing is... if Fred extended his doo wop idea back, classical music was the heaviest thing. It's not a difficult concept.... Fights broke out when Stravinsky's Rite of Spring debuted because of its atonality and jarring ballet movements. String quartets were the dance music so modern day bands/DJs at house parties were once string quartets. That's why the idea that classical and jazz is so formal is mind blowing to me.
@@MangoDoodler hell yeah... that bassoon solo that I think John Williams ripped off for Jurassic Park and that accented string section bumps hard... dum dum dum dum du DUH du DUH lol
Woah really? This comment gave me goosebumps. I love metal and classical music, and I can definitely see hear the influences from classical music into the genre. But I never knew "moshpit"-like scenarios happened spontaneously back in the day while people listened to classical music. Where can I find more info about this phenomenon?
"Elvis Presley was probably the first rock star of the twentieth century. But the first music star to whip audiences into a frenzy and create a legion of fans was the pianist Franz Liszt."
Wow, that moment of talking about classical music actually got real. I don't think Fred was kidding, and I was just thinking to myself how it's about contrast, when Conan basically said the same thing and blows Fred's mind lol. Okay, I adore good classical music as much as the next person (check out Charles Valentin-Alkan) but many many ages, eons ago, I went to see Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, which is basically a cliché piece but still really good, and I'd never heard every movement played together in one sitting, and I burst into tears at the concert hall. Same thing happens even at Gilbert & Sullivan shows. I mean, music is music is love is light is life. You can get into anything if it speaks to you. Obviously. Thanks for bringing it up, Fred :)
Previous month I was able to gather my first five figure wage ever!!! I've been working for this company on the net for 24 months now and I never been happier... They are paying me $95 per hour, and the most important thing about it is that I am not really that tech-savvy, they just required standard knowledge of internet and general typing skill...Awesome thing about it is that now I have more time for my family. I am in a position to spend quality time with my family and friends and look after my children and also going on holiday break together with them very frequently. Don't skip this opportunity and try to react fast. Here is what I do *explore486.com*
Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong would have something to say about their saying trumpet players dont create music. The trumpet is the brass version of a violin, it is the most versatile and recognized brass instrument. I am ranting as a salty trumpet player haha
"Classical music" is such a sweeping term you're doing yourself a disservice if you only listen to a few pieces and decide you dont like it. As a kid i had really severe migraines several times a week and popping on the classical station became one of the few things I could listen to that wouldn't exacerbate it. After awhile I got a real ear for what I liked and now just straight up jam out to it.
I’m a trumpet player. While we do talk about money, we usually talk about how the drummer sucks. And we do write tunes on the horn, it’s just that no one wants to hear them since, like, the ‘70’s.
Trumpet player here, was good back in the day. Did an Easter gig at a church when in junior high, and assumed it was gratis. The pastor gave me a check for $50 and I was gobsmacked. Trafficked myself out for the the next 3 years for Christmas and Easter church gigs after that and was in demand, so, yeah, I can see why horn players talk about money! Btw, the songs and hymns were beautiful, and I appreciated every service. Would have done it for free, but they wouldn’t let me refuse the money.
Fred is cool but I hope he's not serious with that narrow-minded comment about classical... Mahler, Stravinsky, R. Strauss, will blow your freaking mind! Debussy, Faure, Ravel, are exquisitely gorgeous. Yeah, it's very very possible to get into classical music.
Modern popular music wouldn’t exist without classical music coming first to pave the way. Classical music wouldn’t have existed without previous forms such as baroque and Gregorian Chant. Different types of music are popular depending on the time period. That was a pretty ignorant comment. To understand, appreciate and enjoy classical music one must be somewhat educated about the art form and also patient. Without the space (lulls), high points wouldn’t have as much effect. It’s kind of like saying does anybody still look at Leonardo da Vinci‘s work? Modern art wouldn’t exist if he had not paved the way. I have degrees in classical piano but also play jazz, pop and have toured with KISS, Sammy Hagar, Cheap Trick, Meatloaf, Joan Jett, Caleb Johnson, etc... My classical training and understanding of music theory throughout history allows me to also be a rockstar :-)
Classical: it depends on who you're listening to, and from which period, and what region, just as in any other genre. No lulls in its use in films, like Clockwork Orange or Barry Lyndon, right????
Horn players talk about money because having the smallest carriable instruments, they sit in and do sessions the most. Because of that constant sideman role they get stiffed the most.
Beethoven 5th symphony, first movement - all that drama fades into complete silence toward the end and you think it's over. But slowly it starts building again culminating in an insane crescendo. What stupid heavy metal music can compare to that ? Someone ask Fred.
Well this clip sucks...because it reminds me Conan doesn't have a band anymore :( there would have been cuts to the horn section when Fred was making fun of them QQ
You can see Fred’s soul crash when he realises he wasnt the one to come up with “kazoos with attitudes”.
"I need five kazoos with attitude!"
I love Fred. It's like he is always playing a character and you never know for sure if he isn't. Great artist through and through
Horn player here. Can confirm, we do talk about money a lot.

I agree.
Not talking???.....Conan talks so much he breathes through his ears!!!
@@steveross8326 Good one but we want to see him play guitar and SHUT THE DUCK UP!

With no horns. A doo-wop group.

Conan: "i don't know why i'm picking a fight with the horn players of the world..."
>'cuz La Bamba's not there anymore to defend himself
Sweet La Bamba 😥
I have an idea, Fred has a really nice voice, predestined for ASMR and the show would be called ASMArmisen.
"I don't wanna block Andy"
Proceeds to block him even more
Vineet0k exactly
Andy tells him, "Nah, go ahead. Block me. :)"
So I'm sure that's why he continued to stand there.

Debussy still holds up tight. He was just the tip of the iceberg of modern music. I can rock hard to Debussy.
Debussy and Chopin for me.

A Kazoo with an attitude
He looks and acts exactly like his character in Big Mouth.

We the people all know that he's the biggest late night host ever.
who cares? Just enjoy it yourself.
Quality over quantity.
He’s happier and able to be more himself on tbs anyway
Conan funny???......Charlie Sheene giving blood is funnier than Conan!!!

Thank you Conan for standing up for classical music 😏
I’m gonna take my trumpet to conans show and I’ll show him 😂
If Fred thinks people don't get into classical music, I can only assume he wasn't at the 1913 premiere of Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring".
I admit it, so should you
CONAN is a genius!
“you’re all magicians right” lmaoooooo
5:05 Conan clearly knows his Beckett.
And his son is named Beckett!!
I was going to say Chuck Mangione, too.
That's really the beauty of classical , the covering of whole spectrum! The octave jumps!
Great chemistry between them
If I ever learn to play the trumpet, I'll create a brass band called K.W.A. (Kazoos With Attitudes)
I’m a trumpet player. While we do talk about money, we usually talk about how the drummer sucks. And we do write tunes on the horn, it’s just that no one wants to hear them since, like, the ‘70’s.
I love Fred. I'm a drummer. Fred should quit and give the gig to a talented guy.
I’m a horn player, but I’m also a string player and a pianist. So, I’m neutral in this fight 😂
Jay Tiger21 do you have any weird band camp stories?
By the way. That last saying was made famous by Miles Davis
Horn player
Claude Debussy said it, Davis reminded people of it.
The impression of the guy watching do-wop looked like Beatle Bob in St Louis, MO.
Ride of the Valkyrie, super epic
Fred - watch a live performance of the Pines of Rome and have your mind blown!! Classical music rox
LOVE FRED ARMISEN !!!! FUNNY, FUNNY !!!!
I kept waiting for them to cut away to La Bamba for his reaction and when I realized that they couldn't anymore I got really really sad.
Trumpet players. Cue Mark Pender. Oh damn 😕
La Bamba plays the trombone ffs...
Where's Mark Pender when you need him?!
and a La Bamba reaction!
Has Fred been on Conan's podcast? I humbly request it.
Conan, who headlines the show that came up with Nut Spoon, is asking "how do you come up with these left brain ideas?"
The nut spoon is classic
Somewhere La Bamba is crying
He’s one of my favorite former SNL cast members.
*I got classical music to sleep and to awake me on the job, is basically a motivation music, sort of like gym music, try it if you haven't*
It's to be expected. What'd a drum player know about music...
Take it back sir 😂

Trumpet players are very competitive with each other. Very.
[GASP] Conan's a brascist!!
Ironically ending on a quote from miles Davis.
It's genuinely too bad they didn't have the band here, so cut to Labamba, Pender, and Jerry's outraged faces.
I hope LaBamba is watching this
What? Do people listen to classical music? Seriously? I always thought Fred was a little more brainiac than to say something like that.
Yeah lol how does he not know tons of people listen to classical music. Beethoven has millions of monthly users on Spotify alone

Just because Gary Busey likes organ music doesn't mean I do.
