    That Danish Flake pastry looked absolutely amazing (and sounded amazing, too!) I still love seeing the airport workers all wave at the plane. I noticed two of them bowing, as well. How fun!

    The anime "shokugeki no soma" had that steak in it. They said it originated from a customer asking for a very tender steak because, they had a toothache and couldn't chew tough food. The anime is about food, if you haven't seen it, you would probably enjoy it. Thanks for taking us with you on your adventure👍

    I remember a children's book about a peach boy. Now this was 65 years ago since I was I Japan. But he was in a peach seed and that's why he is called a peach boy. To long ago for my memory. Masico read us the story and we would always ask her to read over and over. LOL

    I like how at 1:54 you even *pretended* to consider something else to eat. I await for the time you taste something so incredible that you just faint. Also commend Japan for having jazz music blasting in all their restaurants. That is always the correct music choice, always. 9:41 So would that make it a Desk-luxe room?

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one. Domikatsu looked good. It's definitely a full meal. The cake and coffee looked tasty. it would be perfect to casually meet up with someone.

    In no particular order - the chicken looked to be cooked perfectly, not undone, not overcooked and tough. I've made breads like that danish flake - the last part is labor-intensive, because the baker must cut the loaf into very thin slices and insert butter between each - but oh, the effort is so worth it! That was definitely a hot dog you had for breakfast (I love the combinations of food in a Japanese breakfast). The Edo village was beautiful and romantic. I think I would have purchased a coffee at the cafe and sat outside in the village all day to absorb the atmosphere. I envy the food choices you have in your train stations. Our motels/hotels are priced much higher, and unless we pay several hundred dollars for a room are tired looking and not particularly clean. Warning: those in US stations (and airports) are horrible and overpriced. Finally, how cool that the airport workers waved at your plane as it was traveling down the runway.

    Let's see: Momotaro looks like he's trying to find... was it a bamboo shoot he popped out of?
    There is a very visible level of pride on display in the presentation of all the food, and the bowing as the vehicles depart. That's awesome.
    The concept of caramel rice is a little off putting, but if it's not strong caramel? Might be interesting.

    • @melissadunton3534
      @melissadunton3534 Рік тому +3

      I believe it’s actually fried in a caramelized butter. So it adds a bit of nuttiness and a bit of sweetness, but not sweet like caramel made from sugar.
      When I went to culinary school and started my externship I worked for the best Sushi ya… we also served a variety of bento meal sets and one of them was the shoyu ebi rice. We caramelized our butter in the wok - to a golden color and then added the soy sauce and sesame oil…that is why it has such a dark color.
