Seeing dan grow from each video feels like seeing your bro get older in life
I love Transformers, Ronin Warriors, Battle of the planets and Gundam wing , Sailor moon . Mad respect to toy galaxy
I drive an 18 wheeler over the road (OTR) and this was the perfect video to listen to while I drive. Wouldn't complain a bit if you did more of these. Thanks for what you guys do, I've enjoyed this type of content for a long time.
All that matters is "Born in Japan #1 - A Marathon of Videos About Shows Exported to the US From Japan".
I will both watch and upvote this video to support your channel. I am not a bot.
Battle of the Planets was my introduction to Japanese animation in 1978 and I loved it (I was 8 years old). It meant that the moment I caught a second of similar animation like Thundersub, Star Blazers, Grandizer, Dangard Ace, Gaiking, Starvengers and Robotech, I immediately became a stalwart fan of the program.
Right with you! Speed Racer (1967), Marine Boy (1964), StarBlazers (1978?), nd Battle of the Planets (1977?) marked my first exposure while in Nursery school and immediately hooked me.
The Adventures of Jesse Dart (1984) was a nice surprise, too.
GoLion Voltron was more exciting to watching, but I liked Vehicle Voltron for the interpersonal drama, relationships, personalities, and conflicts.
Too much nostalgia here! It's giving me the urge to splurge and to make it worse, I live in Tokyo, so I want to go this weekend looking for Battle Beasts, Micromen, and other Takara products.
Same here I snatched up what I could from Mandrake and other spots before the tourists come back (which is today). My collection is complete, from soul of chogokin, Ultraman, microman, Gatchaman, some old Poppy stuff my last was the space cruiser Yamato model scale of 1/30. The turrets move, the wave motion gun fires and the engines light up. I will be getting the New Danguard Ace coming out and UFO Daiapolon (gonna have to sneak them in the house the wife is telling me to calm down).
The Godphoenix is the greatest spaceship ever.
The world needs Naoko Takeuchi and Yoshihiro Togashi to do a collaborative project. For those that do not know, Yoshihiro Togashi is Naoko Takeuchi’s husband, and author of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter.
Loves these collections, thanks Galaxy Media!
Wow, great to go back in time with you, Dan, aging like fine wine, my friend ❤
Transformers The Movie is still one of my absolute favorite movies. It's second only to Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Crab man in man mode!
I love these compilations, keep em coming.
Crab-Man in Man-Mode. Thanks for the exhaustive retrospective! Growing up in Ontario in the 1970s, Battle of the Planets was my gateway drug. I didn't even realize there was a Japanese connection to Micronauts until just recently, although I was a huge Mego customer (including the Super Friends/Marvel Heroes, Star Trek, Planet of the Apes action dolls). I also loved the Marvel comic.
When doing activities but not in the mood for music, I enjoy putting on documentaries and similar content for the background. Have seen pretty much everything Toy Galaxy and these compilations work perfectly for this, thank you! 😊
Edit: Crab Man in Man Mode!
2:31 Seeing Dan without beard feels like cursed knowledge
Another of those frustrating reboots.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Free and Easy His Face Goes.
Oh boy, this is going to be on repeat forever
Love the commercials squeezed in between episodes. That's a great touch.
Crab Man In Man Mode!
I’ve seen many of the individual episodes, but this compilation made a long work day much more pleasant. Thanks very much!
I love that you still love this stuff. Me 2. We had cool shit as youth.
have i already watched this comp as individual videos? yes, yes i have. but this definitely helped me power through some boring work by playing it in the background as i worked. so thank you members of the toy galaxy crew you guy and gals f-ing rock. CRAB MAN IN MAN MODE!!!!!
They are some great toys from Japan think you so much Japan
Crab Man in Man Mode!!! This was awesome!!!! I love the longer content. I watched it while making homemade cannoli. Thank you so much. I own every series of Gundam that have had English dubs.
Maaaaaaaan I love these shows you're the best Toy Galaxy your sis literally brighten my day
Crab man in man mode lol
Crabman in Man-mode. Looking forward to more of these.
Crab man in manmode!
Also, only in the USA would they call a gun an "everyday object" 😂
this whole ep is my childhood.
Wow, I hadn't heard of most of these series/toy lines. Really interesting stuff. I might try to find some of these scarcer lines online.
Crab man in man mode…. Loved both these comps even though I had watched the individual shows too. Ever considered doing a Toei special?
What an awesome collection! Sometimes i get tired of living in Japan but this is a great reminder that it’s a pretty damn cool place, thanks for the reminder 👍🏽 🇯🇵
I probably already made this comment....but man, you look like you're cosplaying Alan Grant from Jurassic Park in the Battle Beasts episode. And I love it.
CRAB-MAN in MAN MODE! Thank you for making many a gunpla building hour filled with awesome content about facts I've always wondered about from all the old school culture we all love so very much! By the way, what's YOUR favourite Gunpla. I've noticed you have a 12-15" RX-78 in some of your videos. Keep up the awesome work gentlemen! You'll have at least one eternal subscriber!
Crab Man in Man Mode? Crab Man in Man Mode.
This is an amazing supercompilation!
Of the shows I remember seeing:
battle beasts - probably one of the coolest imports I'd seen from Japan! little pint-sized anthropomorphic figured with poseable arms, AND WEAPONS?! someday I'm gonna hit up ebay see if anyone has a set for a good price. I think the last thing I remember having was the motorized ram tank!
transformers - don't think I need to say a whole lot?! definitely one of my favorites as a kid, and that scene in the movie still gets me in my 40s.
BOTP/G-Force - I think 'G-Force' was the one I remembered growing up? had a pretty good theme song as I recall.
Ronin Warriors - this one came a little later around the 90s I believe? I think we had a couple of the toys I was surprised how high quality they were, I remember the pretty good quality springs they had on the inside, not something I'd seen on a toy before!
MS Gundam Wing - definitely remember it back in the day during the Toonami run, probably the first gundam series I got into! the fighting game was kinda fun.
Sailormoon - might be my favorite episode out of all of these, that Saban Moon story cracks me up every time! XD what were they thinking?! but loved the series and it made me want to seek out the fansubbed later seasons so I was a bit ahead by the time we got the dubs for S and SS!
Yes!!!! I loved the last one. These are great.
Crabman in man mode, I feel he's on to my secret identity.
~ G-Force
1:03:30 ~ Saber Rider
Ra
1:16:04 ~ Ronin Warriors
1:21:00
1:28:00 ~ Gundam MS
1:51:30 ~ Gundam Wing
Crab man in man mode, was that it? Great collection, I think I'd watched them all already, but what else am I going to do when making my lunch for work?!
Crab man in man mode :) I made through the whole video lol
I had some of these. Love your show!
In hindsight, i am happy to know the Japanese Originals over the US covers, just to mention Macross. (as German)
CRAB MAN IN MAN MODE !!!
Crab man and made mode. I think that is what you said. lol Great video.
Best toys ever
Appreciate these longform marathons. Am actually reading setting info (D&D session prep), not assembling Gundam, but yes, that's exactly what is happening here. Also... Battle Beasts!?! I can't remember anything of the series but just vaguely recall seeing some of those figures...
Crab man in manmode!
Crab Man in Man Mode!
Can't wait to meet you at powercon columbus!!!
Crab man in man mode, that is a interesting one
I played it when I went to sleep. Dreamt about Japanese toys.
Every time you upload one of these I listen to it on the way home from open mic because the usual length of your videos is about the exact time takes for me to get home from there anyways I've been driving around my block for the last hour so thanks... LOL no I'm just kidding I really do love the long-form videos though
Best Theme song ever!!!!
watch it all.
Compilation!
Crab Man in Man Mode indeed
Oh wow.😯
i gotta get ready and need a second to prepare for a video of this magnitude.
😄👍
Hi. New viewer here! Amazing compilation!
We need this! 👍👍👍👍
Crab Man in Man Mode.
Love these compilation vids.
Crab man in Man mode.
Crabman in man mode... that was a marathon.
a crab man of culture I see!
Flipping awesome Dan!
Crab men in man mode.
Crab meat!… man meat? What? Lol! I made it through the end, and got me through Saturday morning cleaning! Thanks guys!
Crab Man in Man Mode ^_^
I lost my shit as I sat down at my desk, setting all the Gundam runners out, JUST AS HE SAYS "Put it on in the background as you build your next Gundam."
I thought that female giggle when he said Ram Rod was someone hiding in my room.
While I think compilation videos like this and Saturday Morning Marathon #1 have their place, I just watched all of your TV show history videos over the past year. So I don't have much of a reason to rewatch these so soon and would be far more excited to see a new video on Thursdays. I get it if you would rather release new videos every other week, but if that's the case just tell us and I'll know not to get my hopes up every week. :)
Crab man in man mode
As collectors, aren't we all Dan? Isn't Dan all of us--as human beings?
Pretty sure I owned NO Micronauts as a kid but had a butt load of Interchangables :D
Crabman in man mode
You made a mistake at 20:40. Gatchaman defended the Earth only, not outer space.
Nice compilation 👍🏾🦀man
Still love that old theme! Who’s that teenage presenter though 🤔
After the compilations can you do a history on Heathcliff or D.I.C toons?
I had VHS -itis, amassing more than a thousand Anime and live action videos, plus hundreds of foreign movies. Now what do I do?
1:12:10...Loving This "longform"!!!!....But ...as was taught to us by the legendary T.V. show "Rawhide"...another definition of "ramrod" is the second in command of a trail drive...("deeper" semantics there...)...(and of course...usually portrayed by some someone who had "much feminine speculations cast upon the suitability of their "ramrod"...tee hee...)
Thanks for this. Especially thanks for not having a voice like Gilbert Godfrey (RIP). 😂❤️
god mode
Wonder if there's enough material to a video about the reverse flow called Big In Japan.
Do some more compilation videos!
15:46 coughing {Street Fighter }
are you the son of our normal presenter? cause damn that baby face
We know now what that next live action cross over is going to be since the Transformers Rise of the Beast has just came out. And thats G.I.Joe and Transformers 😂😂
Is 7Zark7's voice that of guy from Mr. Ed?
Ok...any hope for a video about the history of Super Robot Wars?
🙏🏾
Anyone know if original Gatchaman and G2 are available physically on dvd? Or original Yamato?
USA OF ‘MERICA!!!! Yes!!!
Ahem…
Crab man in man mode.
I would love to see another adaptation of Crab Man in Man Mode, but it's probably a bit niche these days =P
Crab-man in Man-mode.....
@3:24 Aloe Gay Tron…. I mean Aligatron lol
Hey Dan! 🙋♂️
Are you guys going to do a video on Mobile Fighter G Gundam? That was my Gundam after school in 10th grade
Burning Finger is what we called my friend after he went on a date with Tiffany Davenport. Yes, that one 🤣🤣🤣
I guess Force Five wasn't mainstream enough?
Today it's a plan . Need a plan
I came here for some crab man only to find him in man mode
