  • Here we take a normal car seat and permanently install a massager. Those over the chair strap massager gets torn apart and installed permanently in a car seat. Can be done to almost any vehicle with the right know-how and tools. This is just a way that I did mine.
    Here is the cheapest one that Amazon has, which is fine, because you are modifying both.

    Got this idea a while back and decided to see if anyone else on UA-cam already did it.

      Thanks. This one was glued together which was a pain to get around, but with the right glue, isnt that bad. Depends on the car

    Good job. Would have liked to see what you though a week or a month later. Is there anything you would’ve done differently?
    I’d like to have the same thing done to my office chair.

      Since I have done it..nothing like the seat giving out because its glued together. But that depends on the seat and every seat is different. The only "issue" im having, is that I guess with scion, they didnt use much cushioning. So you sorta see the bulges from the motors are cut into the cushioning. It doesnt really hother me sinve its my car and im the one who did it. But maybe when I have nothing to do, ill take them back out and remove them from the enclosure that theyre in and either see if they still work without it. Which will remove the "hump" in the seat and not feel it so much. But again, thats up to the seat and how think the cushioning is or the donated seatback that you buy. I had bought a different one after that and removed the motors and they were smaller. But you wont know that until you tear it apart. But amazon has them for like 50 bucks, so you could sacrifice one and see how big they are or how they fit in the cushioning. But you also have to be careful not to cut all the way through the cushioning. Then the motor might fall out. That wouldnt be helpful. Lol. Good luck and thanks for watching.

      @@richideates ahhh that's amazing. Im glad you made this video man, I've been wanting this on my rsx for 10 years but never knew how to go about it. I just bought a snailax massage seat from Amazon and its like you said. $ 50 so I'm getting the pieces. For your car though, wouldn't the bulges be hidden if you added like a thin layer of sponge or memory foam on top of the cuts on the bulges? Would it still stick out if you added another thin layer? But thankyou for the reply and the video. I'll send you how mine ends up after I finish it. Glad your son liked it too 🙏🏽

      Ya but..youre right..BUT..I do not have every vehicle in front of me nor knowing what the objective is in front of me when I take it apart..so heres my idea..I take it apart..need the extra cushion..BUT..your drivers seat is taken out and you need to run to the store..HOW?? Seats in your hand and taken apart..lmao..so how do I go to the store and get the extra cushioning?? Lmao..but yes..youre right and it can be done..but how do you know what you need BEFORE you get into the install?? It depends on who is doing it and how much money you will want to invest into it if its not you or yourself doing the install..but I would see you dribing a car without a seat to the nearest hobby lobby asking for cushoning..that would be priceless and I want to be there..lmao

      @@richideates is the issue that you see the bulges? Because that would not bother me at all. But I imagine you also feel the bulges which can potentially make the seat feel less comfortable whether it is vibrating or not. This is an issue I have had with the vibrating seats that you strap on the car seats. they do feel uncomfortable. I assumed it was because I did not strap it on properly but maybe it is the bulging motors themselves that make them less comfortable. What kind of foam would you suggest to go over it. Is there a specific type of foam that is thin and high density that you would recommend? I would like to do this in my office chair which I will reupholster at the same time so it does not matter to me if the shape of the chair is a little different because I will be reupholstering it with new vinyl.

    • @richideates
      @richideates  Рік тому +1

      In all honesty..yes..it has become bothersome TO ME..I just threw a thin throw blanket over the back of the seat. The bottom isnt too bad..but the constant digging of the bulge on my lower back did become a bother. BUT, to answer your next question, yes there is, I assume something at a near hobby lobby should be fine. The problem is how thick the foam is on my car. The first time I ever did that, it was on an infiniti seat, which if you know anything about vehicles, Infiniti uses some thick foam and you can just cut the sction out that the motor will sit in and no problems. I would open the chair and see how thick the foam is and take it from there. Dont plan on modifying until you see how thick the foam is. I will EVENTUALLY go back into the chair and repad it. But not until I get some real time to do so. I will most likely make another video to address that on my car. But its worth the effort either way.

    • @richideates

      Good. As long as you install the seat back the same way it was, there shouldnt be any problems. Other than the system go bad, then its a bad day. Lol

    Yet to watch the entire video, but what about seats that have airbags in them, will the massager interfere with such seats?

    • @richideates
      @richideates  3 роки тому

      No. Why would it? Just make sure you take notice of where the sensors are before cutting or placing. If you remove the cloth or leather, double check to see if and where everything will go. If you have issues, then its not for your vehicle. But really, it shouldnt be a problem because your cutting into the cushioning not anything else. But always double check

      What about it? I never touched it. I have manual seats so removing it with the battery off is easy. Power, you would just have to position it before you pull power to it.
