I dont get why people play simulators altogether, its like trying to get meat off a bone thats been dry for 200 years, chewing at it may give that slight enjoyment but it doesn't have any meat on it (gameplay)
Note that it was 2019, simulator games were a trend, and the roblox community is not full of grown-up teenagers (hence why adopt me and meepcity had so many players). They play simulators because it is just easy progression, and actually enjoy the game mechanic and feature. I remember when pet sim 1, bee swarm sim and bubble gum sim are the big 3 in the genre
Back than simulator actually tried creating somthing new and different. Bee swarm beeing the biggest example with the game being beloved by many in the roblox community with the only criticism in recent years and onet promising updates that takes end up coming out

On a side note, the surprise pay to win element was not the reason for its shutdown.
If you play the game on mobile it becomes clear why all of the 3 year olds vanished.
1. a button is on top of the jump button. WHAT THE F- (it makes a pop-up appear and is genuinely annoying to remove)
2. It is easy to miss when pressing to collect coins/gems on the pop-up.
This is what made all of the 3 year olds quit the game. They could have gotten away with the whole surprise p2w thing as the only part of this game's audience that would care is the terminally online portion.

Fun Fact: In one of the areas in pet simulator x (i think its the graveyard area) there is a grave with "Pet simulator 2" on it
i was suprised when i didnt see the grave with "Pet simulator x" in pet sim 99 since x is basically dead now except for transferring pets

Started watching this channel after the hunt video and now im kinda hooked and have been rewatching alot of your content its just so entertaining
I was quite sad when it failed, it had a really good concept especially with it being "less" p2w and having cooler areas. too bad they messed it up hopefully they try something like it again doubt they will though

honestly i still think even if all the pet simulator games are heavily flawed and pretty bad this game was the only one that had potential i feel like pet simulator 2 was the major turning point for Preston. like before pet simulator X he was greedy yes but not Mr. Krabs level but i feel like you can kinda see that start with pet simulator 2. and then that devolves and well you have seen how bad he is now.

The membership was for a subpar pet trading and early access to new worlds, and you could get it for a 1 time fee. Compare that to the new games with game passes going for over 5k regularly and having to pay for titanics and huges and having to pay for lootboxes and it’s DEFINITELY not p2w. Hell, if you grinded you could technically get the membership for free.

I always used to play pet simulator 1 and 2, they were good games.
I wasted so much time and money on that scandalous Pet Simulator business model.
As soon as first joined and saw the subscription based vip I immediately left and never touch the game again.
ITS NOT SUBSCRIPTION BASED AUUUUUGGRGH
At least you could permanently get it unlike OTHER of these subscription models

The cool thing about bee swarm is that you have to use your brain in order to buy stuff while on other simulators it's just clicking a button
and pet simulator 99 now is insanely f2p friendly with some paying aspects that do not hurt anyone. everyone can be on the same level now and big games are definently making big improvements!
