I just tried cinematic mode on the selfie camera, and it’s incredibly good - even in poor light. I think this iPhone 14 Pro might just become my a-camera, now!

If you’re talking about the enhanced AI that Apple uses (that you can’t disable in photos), it’s horrible. It gives a watercolor paint effect to photos.

Its pretty cool see an actual UA-camr/Photographer/Videographer recommending people to use an iPhone instead of buying a really expensive DSLR or Mirrorless Camera. I have been saying this for years. That smartphones will eventually replace DSLR cameras because of their ease of use and computational photography. Awesome video btw.
Mobile gaming is also going to replace PC gaming too.
The really expensive ones? Those won't be replaced by any smartphone for the foreseeable future I'm afraid.

Heck yeah man. Some solid upgrades to the cameras especially for me upgrading from my 11pro. This video looked awesome on my new 14pro 🙂

It's very good. It seems to struggle with glasses though. Particularly your transparent frames.
When you consider that you shot this whole thing on a phone, it's pretty astounding.

Cinematic mode still has the blurry edges, but adjusting in post is a godsend. Loving my iPhone 14 pro max so far. Thanks for a great review!! 👍😊

Cheers Matti, I started my videography business with the iPhone 13 Pro Max and have just upgraded to the 14 Pro. Winning client work now after a year or so pushing iPhone videography with little success but the tech is improving scarily fast. That being said, for low-light situations I have decided to purchase a Sony A7IV, so the iPhone 14 Pro shooting ProRes will be my B Cam. Did you shoot this using just the iPhone native app or did you opt for a third party setup? Thanks , Tom

How do you change the lens from .5 to 1 or 3 after the video has been shot? I saw u do it a few times did you film separate shot for each lens or can u change from lens to lens after it be shot once?

Matti, when you were on the One-Wheel, was it hand-held on on a selfie-stick? Because the phone doesn't have the same features as a GoPro or Insta360 right for subject lock

Speaking of cinematic mode, one thing people don't think about, and I haven't seen any reviewers mention is that it enhances low light, because ML-blur occurs post-noise
I've been shooting a lot of cinematic mode at Ultra Europe and with the festival-style editing and cutting pace I swear it looked exactly like the event cam Ultra posted

I want Apple to do more work on their potrait mode and telephoto camera .This is the camera and mode that people use the most and loves to use .So improving that will be amazing and I really don’t understand why Apple isn’t using the lidar sensor for portrait mode .It’s been three years since they introduced the lidar sensor but still they are not using it to improve the edge direction and depth mapping while taking portrait mode photos or cinematic video
The lidar has a pretty low resolution. So doubt it would help much
@@WolfTheLad they don’t need it for colours ,they need it just for the perfect depth measurement and edge detection
True I don’t know why they even limit the lidar only in Night mode portrait shots. Its such a waste that they are not using it that much.
