Cruised around Wurtzburg, and surrounding areas, Germany on a 50cc vespa back in 2002.the bike had been sitting in a garage for like 20 years when I found it. Never got to Lithuania when I was in Europe but found so, so many beautiful places all over. It's always a great feeling to come home to Mum and Dad and be wrapped in that safe, away from everything else place of childhood.

I think I’ll struggle to get myself to the van drive back. Especially as I have a full appartement space in a loft with views and a room service of homemade food and cakes. And dogs! 🥹

It’s definitely better then a post Soviet Lithuania I remember. The drive here though was challenging as it was raining last 7 hours and I was tired after 10 hours driving already. Definitely splitting it on the way back, stopping to sleep.
@@tomboyabit Back when I traveled a long distance, I would stop for an hour or so at a restaurant. It get on out of a vehicle, legs and body relaxes more an I always felt better getting back on the road. At least getting a license is tougher in Europe and people seem to be better and more considerate drivers.
Lithuania has beautiful nature. By the way, I live in Estonia and Im so sad, that I can not ride my Aprilia right now. It has been over 2 months, since I crached and over a month, the bike has been in workshop. I hape I het her back, before the summer ends and the weather turns bad. I miss riding so much. I loved to take my GoPro with me, all the time, when I was riding.

Like many Lithuanians his age he is everything mechanic, carpenter, plumber.. most of things he does himself as well as cooks and bakes the best cakes ever. They pay nothing for electricity at the moment. Said it was the best investment a few years ago.

I was very lucky to have the weather like this during my stay. Lithuania is not Sunny all the time at all. Even if the summer is hot and lovely, in September the temperature starts quickly dropping and in October can be bellow 0C. In winter it can reach -30C.
What a beautiful House and place for that matter it looks so lovely there. Tom_boy_a_bit not sure if you will pick up the messages but what is your honest opinion of that Sportster. Does it tick all the boxes. Is power adequate as i hear so much criticism..
@@tomboyabit Thank you, I've been hearing different opinions, so just wondered how you'd done it. Some say you need an ATA Carnet if not riding the bike, and I've heard stories of these being asked for at French ports, which didn't matter for you as you went to the Netherlands. But others say if its not being moved commercially then its ok with just the V5. I was interested as I do a lot of work in the EU and thought about taking my bike in the works vehicle if there is space, and using when I have time off between jobs.
@@medler2110 To me it’s also easier to get to Europe as I still have ES passport. But Simon with guys went to France with lots of bikes in the vans (8 I think) and had no troubles whatsoever. Take it with you for sure!
I’m grateful to be here now, but riding season is very short in Lithuania and Winters are real. Dark, cold and either the roads are covered with snow or salt.

I prefer not to ride in the winter (even if the ‘winter’ hasn’t been a proper one in the UK for many years now lol), because of the potential damage all the salt and grime could cause to my Iron if it isn’t cleaned out quickly and properly.

Lithuania is a place that time stood still ,doesn't suffer like Poland,Ukraine,Yugosalvika,etc. in terms of hotspot problems.

What customs document did you have for taking the bike into the EU, or are they ok to let it in on a van with only the registration documentation?
To be honest with you they haven’t checked any documents. I only have V5 (registration) with me and Insurance in the phone. Same for a van.
