Muse - Muscle Museum Acoustic - HMV Bristol 1999

- Опубліковано 27 лют 2013
- The final track of a three track set. This is an instore signing session from 1999, filmed by Matthew George. This track was previously published on Georges website "The Muscle Museum" in low resolution, but was recently rediscovered on VHS.
Muse performed in many stores during the 1999 Showbiz promotional tour - some of the signed items from these performances carry high values because they took the time to sign with their full names back then.
This is probably the most intimate Muse set you will ever see - with around 30 people squeezed into the HMV in Bristol to witness this amazing show. Fun fact - Muse also popped over the river Severn to the Cardiff HMV store in Wales to perform on the same day!
These videos have been released as a THANK YOU gift - to the donators of the Muse Collectors 2012 competition. If you want to learn about this years competition, head over to Muse Collectors and get involved.
Thanks goes out to Pierre_Luigi and Muse Bootlegs, and to MG for recording it in the first place.
Imagine just having the memory of being someone who just happened to be there to see this, and then seeing how big they are today
You're so right
My friend was there, she tells me all the time how she saw them before they were famous
@@proevoisace7 lol I would too
Was thinking the same. It’s cool just to see the sneak peak virtually. Gives me goosebumps knowing they’ll go on to play this same song to sold out stadiums.
They all look so 90's, apart from Chris who is stuck in the 70's with those sideburns :D
This is a perfect example of "and the rest is history"
Start from bottom... Now they in the top of the world... Love MUSE...
Nobody is an exception. You always start at the bottom. 🤘
not so bottom. Matt's father was already a famous guitarist, and helped him a lot.
That means that someone now owns this guitar and maybe don't even know that Matthew Bellamy played on it. O.O
I NEED A TIME MACHINE!!!
This and sunburn acoustic are unforgettable. I get chills everytime
oh yes, especially Sunburn. i was so lucky to catch them live when they played it, with Matt on piano, F*****. Since then on my ears every morning when I go to work.
Imagine hearing this song and finding out that when the album came out fans and critics of them who saw live shows were disappointed in the album and thought they would go nowhere, and now look at the superstars they've become with amazing album after album, some a little better than others but each amazing in its own way
In 1999, I first heard MUSE. I still have the Showbiz Album. Then we went out to see them. And then came Origin, then I was addicted to Muse for ever. In 1999 I was 29. Now I am 53. Still Muse fan/geek/for the rest of my life.
That falsetto makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
What a version, that harmonic at 1:50 ... gosh.
want that poster!!
the boyband pose posters tho
my poor heart
I like how they used to played acoustic songs in a different key
I've been watching their live performance videos a looot for the past two months with bigger crowd and how they killed each of them and watching this when they're in their toddlers era just feels unbelievable. Their hardwork from the bottom has been paid off beyond their expectations.
Well this makes me feel young I was 1 year old.
bro I was -2 years old
+Will Aguirre oh wow, -2 years old, you must feel young.
+halle brown Yes I do feel young. I also feel excited because I'm seeing muse live TOMORROW!!!
Will Aguirre Arrrr so jealous, I live in Australia and they are going to take forever to come here.
+halle brown I hope you get to see then sometime. The show was fantastic!
and when i see this, i wish i was born in 1978 in Teignmouth
Awesome Muse Acoustic, amazing even back then in 1999, so clear and perfect!!!!
next to this video, among the suggestions, there's one from the unsustainable tour 2013.
It's nice and moving to see how they passed from a cd shop to stadiums. But I have to say that Matt, even in a small shop, already looked like a star! They' ve never changed!!
muse need to do more acoustics
I absolutely *LOVE* the way Matt sings way at 01:02
I have a feeling these guys will go big ;)
Imagine MUSE playing in a HMV😂 they’ve come a long way
Crazy to watch this.
Maybe no one is going to read this but, this video means a lot to me, beacuse Its my favourite band, my favourite song, and that date, 4/11/99 born the love of my life. So its very nice for me.

Oh my....young Muse ❤❤

OMG This is beautiful, Amazing!! I have no more words to explain this!!
Am I glad to hear it back, thanks UA-cam :)
Amazing how all it took was a key change to make a great song even better
In 1999 I was born, and these guys were being absolute legends I love muse sm
It's back ,is the stupid copyright gone?... :D
A thousand times yes
More epic year after year

Raise your hand if you came back in 2020? Muse is old . But old is gold.

They are so brillant and awesome.
How absolutely brilliant is this, wish I had been there, Come on Muse play this track at the Emirates for us fans.
0:10 to 0:15, matt plays nirvana's where did you sleep last night cover.
No. He just goes for an E-A-D chord progression. It's just similiar.
actually he's just checking with chris if they're in tune
well it just sounds like it
I saw Nirvana and nothing like them. Both bands incredible, unforgetable.
22 years of showbiz 😲
We would give the world for this.
I would just love it if they made a couple more songs in this genre!
Aaaaw! Love this! 🥰
I didn’t expect the audio quality to be this clear T T
So amazing...
I miss HMV
I love❤❤
i would sell my soul to see muse live during this era... too bad they hardly play their old music live nowadays
Sometimes they do. Check out setlist or concert Sheperds Bush 2017, and hey Showbiz at RAH 2018 + Metal Medley. And hey, I was in Berlin last year 2022, well, I can tell you, Muse will rock you all out.
I actually heard the reason why they don't play much of their older stuff was because those songs were too difficult to play live!
Fantastic!
Love it!!
Amazing.
You its my universe ❤❤
Showbiz is out of stock😰
oh jesus
this is perfect
blessed, who recorded this video! ahahah greetimgs from italy!
Jesus, can you imagine even getting them near a tiny event like this today, they never even seem to tour here in England any more!!
So rare!
So much want for those posters hanging in the background

💕💕💕 omaigah:'3
Best band ever
Amazing band!
this is cool
Thought I would never hear this live again...
In case this happens again I would recommend downloading it off a website, I would recommend MuseLive as they have a lot
Please please tell me what's the chord at 1:48, it sounds like :
-2-2-2-
-4-4-4-
-4-4-4-
-4-4-4-
-2-2-2-
-X-X-X-
But it's obvously not this by watching his hand, he don't have any finger on 4th fret.
Please tell me.
+GameSpirit94 its an open b7 without the Fsharp played on the 1st string.
played like:
E- :x-
A: -2-
D: -1-
G: -2-
B: -0-
E: -x-
commonly used as a turnaround in the key of Emajor and Eminor. Matt uses it a lot in both those keys in Showbiz songs. Uno, Sunburn etc :)
Hope I helped :)
+Josh Walter I finally found it by myself but thanks, it's this, but with a 2 on the highest string.
+Josh Walter What do you mean by "turnaround" ? Changing key ?
+Alka-Young returning to the tonic at the end of a chord progression😊 e.g. e, e, a, a, e, B7, a, e (in a 12 bar blues for example) then you will play B7 again as a way of 'turning around' back to E again. It'll probably have a proper name but turnaround is 'blues music slang' I guess😊 I hope that helped?
Okay, so B7 is V7, but,if the chords are E E A A E B7 A E, that's mean the progression is: I-I-IV-V7-IV-I.
But I thought that we couldn't make V-IV ? (in classical writing, we can make V-I or V-VI)
❤❤
I love you
😍😍😍
Damn 20 years ago
tabs guitar?
no puede tener esa voz 🥺🥺🥺😭😭
Anyone have the tabs for it?
Top abis...
Matt bellamy is one of the Best Guitarist 🤘🏻😎
Those who critiqued their live shows compared to the album are kicking themselves in their ass now! 😊
Very few bands are better live than on the album.
1) The Cure
2) A Perfect Circle and:
3) MUSE is literally known as the greatest arena rock band ever!
I miss HMV.

Matt’s last name is Bellamy, not George, otherwise your description is great…..as well as early Muse, already great. [this is to MuesCollectors info above in the desciption]
Matthew George is the guy who recorded the video
