Just imagine, you wrote a song about how they not care or take serious of your work and underestimating you and you sing this song back late in 90s in small places. In 2017, a room full of people sing your song by heart in Shepherd's Bush Empire. This is pure SUCCESS!
Unbelievable
I am a life long Muse fan since randomly picking up Showbiz in HMV back in 1999, this is my favorite ever muse track, one of the harder ones to deliver as they progress I guess, but this is still an amazing F'ing performance, I just miss Matt jumping around and his emotional face ;) Glasto 2004 performance was amazing..
That's a real crowd. Well done.
I usually prefer hearing the artist, but that was cool.
Well the tickets were hundreds of £££ so yeah true fans only haha
So awesome
@@elisa_cruz price?
This is so satisfying ! You can see Matt is very happy everyone is singing along with him, and I love it
0:53 when you expect to hear Matt's voice, but all you can hear is the crowd singing.
Matt enjoys😂
This crowd truly appreciates Muse.
I adore this core part of Muse community
I've never seen the crowd out-sing Matt...
it's just a matter of how the recording is mixed.
Also, it's not often that he stops singing in favour of the singing crowd!
they seem to fucking love playing this, missed this song live
especially with that much support from the crowd!
yes the first best song why live not
He didn't pwove he made uhhh really big mista--ke
You realise that you made a great song when everyone just keep singing it all the time.
The crowd was so loud and harmonious, I’d almost think they didn’t need Matt to sing at all, but then at the end his voice rises above the crowd, and I understood, this is still his song. As heartfelt as everyone singing is, he’s still on another level
Matt was so happy that so many people knew the words to this song. How I wish I could see this live 😢
Nobody is like them.
No one will ever be like them.
Man everyone in the audience knows the lyrics better than I do 😂
You can tell this wasn’t a regular gig. The room was full of hardcore musers!
Can we make this song a regular on their set lists ???? Pls muse the energy this song radiates in a group is amazing I can feel how manic I’d become the second I hear it life
if memory serves they actually lost a pedal that's really important to play the song correctly and they're hard to find :(
@@weery33 They've actually recovered that pedal, which is why they've been able to play the song in 2015, 2017, and 2018. I believe the main reason they don't play it live more frequently/regularly is because one of the band members (Matt, I believe) mentioned in an interview that "the song doesn't really work live." This was featured in an interview prior to the band's tour for The 2nd Law starting in 2012 (I read it on MuseWiki.) The fact that "Muscle Museum" is also an older song that they've played literally hundreds of times before (since 1995!) probably doesn't help matters either.
I'm sure the band will continue to play the song on special occasions, but I highly doubt it will ever be the setlist fixture it once was again. 😞
Makes me so happy to see the crowd so excited for an older song
Makes him so happy too, as we can see this video :D
Muscle museum live? holy...
Muscle Museum: The song literally cries
Best fucking musician ever
1:00 look at that face. pure happiness
This is the peak video version of Muscle Museum , the greatest Muse song. Literally give me chills everytime the crowd singing along
LEGENDARY !!!
The entire crowd tho... safe to say the majority of them are really really really Muse fans. Got goosebumps when Chris starts playing that bassline and they all get excited, singing along like there's no tomorrow.
It’s literally the fifth time in a row that I’ve replayed the video, and yet it still sounds so awesome! This version, with the public singing, is just epic! You can also see Matt is really happy and surprised that the crowd sing along! Why can’t we have crowd like this in America?
I'm almost 38 years old and
this song was released in 1999, I've listened to all the versions for decades now.
This is the best one.
Hoping for Full showbiz setlist on Showbiz 20th anniversary
Sky Arrow Bridge that would be sick but I dont think they would bc a lot of the songs on Showbiz aren’t that popular
@@maxcchung you could argue that this is the same for Origin of Symmetry, but they still played the entire album at Reading 2011. Songs like Screenager, Darkshines, Micro Cuts, Megalomania and such are not popular with the average casual fan. I think a full Showbiz setlist would be very welcome
Incredible performance, shame they never put this into the set for the bigger venues, when i see them at The Etihad in June i'll doubt they'l play this, and Dead Star, really underrated gems.
i mean they did do a big concert where everyone got to vote which songs would be on the setlist, pretty cool from them xd
But sometimes they really do surprise you in terms of what they pull out. I saw them in New Zealand and was surprised to see them play Fury and Cave.
ugh I'd give a kidney to have been at that concert
I think I prefer Matt's deeper, stronger, more mature voice, as evidenced in this vid. His singing during the simulation theory tour was stratospheric.
This is an amazing crowd!! you can barely even hear Matt ahha.
True fans from the very first hour know this song by heart.
I have not been a fan for that long, but I know it by heart, too. It's not that hard to memorise lyrics, ya know?
Musimike Battle you’re so lucky to have known them since their beginning! I wasn’t even born in 1999... Still, since I’ve discovered them, a couple years ago, they’ve been my favorite band! All their songs are just amazing!
you know you've got something special when you can just let the crowd go
Especially with lyrics you wrote when you were like 15
This is fucking amazing.
That is some mean response from the audience. Wish I was there. And it sounds like Matt is trying to get his old voice back haha
I hate everyone who managed to get a ticket for this gig
Seriously, i've seen them 7 times but never anything like this, i checked the setlist to it and i'm so jealous.
And i hate you for managing to see them 😁
@@AhmedAdel-fl3ss Yeah.. 7 times.. Damn..
I got tickets for this 2 hours before they came on stage! Couldn’t believe my luck! By far the best concert I’ve ever attended.
The crowds energy!!! Yess
Amazing people!....they sing with Matthew! 😍😍😍
what a crowd!
As much as I loved this song and album wow have they come a long way. I knew it was in them but didn't think they'd take over the world
If you’re wondering what’s their oldest song… 👇🏾
Uno 👍🏽
oldest song put in an album? yes. Oldest song they ever recorded? Not even close.
@@TFTheGamer I didn’t know that. I’m a Muse fan, but not that one who knows everything about them. Thanks for the info. 👍🏽
@@jamal_wallace3 I would say only a handful of people and hardcore fans would know everything they did before the showbiz album. Origin of Muse came out a couple of years ago and it has a lot of early demos and tapes of songs they used to play in live shows before showbiz, and some of them are quite good, considering they were less than 20 years old when they wrote them.
одни из самых старых - Coma, Cave and Overdue
Underrated as fuck
Now thats a crowd!
They should play those more often
At 3:45 close your eyes and let the music travel you.... :'D
3:46 Wow
Glad they still play old songs :D
Rule #1 of why you should play the old stuff too. That's why they're there.
What went down is here is one of a kind...
Fantastic crowd. I bet the majority of them have been fans since Showbiz album. I wish I lived in Showbiz era.
It's the way they sing the rif then the lyrics... it's so precious to feel it.
Media/critics/people be making fun of that album but so glad it found its way to catch many souls.
I know I'm one of those "play the early stuff" wankers, but fuck me this shows exactly why. Remember why the crowd are here in the first place and give them the old stuff amongst your experimental noodlings from the newest album.
I hate how people label their new albums as experimental when it couldn’t be any further from the truth. Experimental would imply that they’re trying something new, taking risks, but their new albums are nothing but generic pop. If anything their rock albums where a lot more experimental with songs such as space dementia and knights of cydonia
After 24 years of its first release...this is bloody fucking nice. Showbiz, Sunburn, Muscle Museum, and Unintended are the best in their first album.
More like 24 years
Don't forget Cave
@@salvatore5588 Not my favorite 😂 but a good one
And Uno
@@99Apit Haha not my cup of tea but a good one
They should play this more often than new kind of kick or dig down.
Angelico Philip Cariño See ? Pretty unexpectable , but it happened ! Forget Yokohama and enjoy this version which is the most epic one (for me ) and that's thanks to this beautiful crowd , but also to this charismatic Matt !
Mihaela Negritu Listen to the "hey you crazy kids"
Haralabospap Indeed i listen, because i didn' t find a video version .Thanks for the information , anyway ! Even this audio is insane but i wish i could also see Matt .Himself is a " crazy kid" !
Mihaela Negritu *Story behind this performance* there was a festival and the organizars wanted muse to playback (and we all know what happens). Matt didn't have a guitar, Dom was "playing" bass and Chris was on drums. And at the end of the video what happened was the guy who was responsible to control the playback song actually screw this simple task and Muse decided to leave the festival.
Haralabospap So that's a whole story! Almost when they change places on Italian TV and Dom was " playing Matt .Joke connected also the playback -thing, as far as i remember.
Seriously why is this song not brought back. Def gets more crowd interaction than resistance and undisclosed desires
I'm pretty sure they barely perform those songs live anymore.
Missing the context that this was a very small crowd of hardcore fans and a near 20 year old song from their least successful album. Of course they're not going to play this in arenas.
1:52 the best momment 👍👍👍
So awesome. I go back to that part over and over. The lights, the explosion of voices. Gah, amazing
The best mood enhancer on UA-cam. This fills me with so much positivity.
When you have no second guitar player, so you have to sing the guitar solo, lol
Was lucky to hear it live at Moscow gig in 2007)
верните нам наш 2007
This song always make me cry...
3:11 this shit was so amazing bro jajajaja
Alonstaxx yoooo sup
I thought matt lost the pedals for the song.
i mean he has money to buy probably better ones than the ones he had back then xd
Годы идут, а лютый пиздец этой песни накрывает как и 20 лет назад! Гениально!
И будет дальше!
Love how the crowd is all in! This brought me back to 2001 when I first saw them... back then I could buy a ticket 3 days before the gig for 20 euros...
Gotta love the crowd who sang along to every word
hope that next year they'll play the whole showbiz albrum for 20 ann, just like what they perform OOS in reading 2011
Thank you for all the time you put in this video, it is awesome
I always feel that muse's have a great sence of music.
Im crying
Awesome crowd...
Very good work, such a vibrant song and video editing!
Why do they always skip all the songs from Showbiz in their shows... it makes no sense.
they’re embarrassed idk 🤷♂️
Matt was a teenager when he wrote the first album so I guess it's just not in his taste anymore in his 40s, but it's nice they still play it once in a while for the older fans. I like Showbiz too, but their next 3 or 4 albums were definitely better imo.
Stop complaining and just enjoy muse.
Hard to sing
@@justinmraap their top 3 in my op is oos, absolution, then showbiz, other albums have better songs but as whole albums these 3 make the most sense
Phenomenal crowd!
epic. just epic.
I wish the guitar solo at the end was talked about more. Easily one of the best I’ve heard
I think you mean the voice solo😂
@@hoguemusic9706 I just learned about that! I can’t believe it’s him screaming
@@makkavalley9144 Ikr! The one in Showbiz at this concert also sounds like an instrument, but it's just his voice with a cool effect on it
@@hoguemusic9706 I could talk about muse all day man. I listen to Dead Inside religiously
F yeah. That was awesome.
Even when recording from a phone we are set for a show xd
20 years later, people know how to appreciate it..i want to cry huhu
Damn, it’s pure talent
very rare video
Это здорово! Какое счастье что ещё есть настоящие музыканты!!!!!
finally an end to the debate of if its a guitar outro or vocals.
Bro, that debate did never exist, you can watch another early live versions of Muscle Museum, like 2000's
@@porquereyna29 Perhaps there was never an external debate, but I had an internal debate for a long time. You know, until I saw a live version of it.
Я даже забыла как это ахуэнно быть в этой энергии за 10 лет плотного сидения на электронной танцевальной музыке. Ни один диджей не даст такой взрыв энергии 🎉🎉
This song is a masterpiece and this performance, outstanding. Shepherd's Bush Empire is a magical venue, i always loved it and what an amazing audience for this one! ❤️
Matt said that this song turned him on to songwriting
Cheecky bastard, trying to hide his smile, lol)
Unfuckinreal
Anyone has the newest live?
so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! legendary!i wish i was live there

what's the oldest one then?
my guess is showbiz
@@pcschulte7763 its sunburn
Plug In Baby
Showbiz. Plug in Baby was after three of those songs (Showbiz, Muscle Museum, and Sunburn). Plug in Baby was released in 2001 while those three older ones was released on their first album in 1999. You’re welcome :).
@@EthanBallenger plug in baby can be traced as far back to 1997 thanks to a demo from that year
Shocking how long it took people to “switch on” to Muse
У меня мурашки по коже от энергии Мэтта и всего зала, как они ему подпевают... О боже, это великолепно!!!!
Beautiful, I love song!
Incredible
I love this song!!! KING!!!! SUPER!
Thanks bro👏👏👏👏
