He left the leftovers for Derang, though. He betrayed Derang from start to finish and when he was at deaths door he's telling Yanyan to follow her heart. What a deceitful stinking rat. I despised him all through the series. I was happy when Yanyan father died, he pimped out his daughter for prestige.
Imagine if Xiyin and Wuguli enjoyed their happiness instead of plots and machinations they would've been the best couple on the show. The moment when that impudent King of Shu tried to start trouble I was like the only way to silence this fool is to bring in the guards and behold Han Derang made the baddest entrance of all time with the badass cape 😄

The only person i feel sorry for is Wuguli's son. If he had better parents his fate would've been different. Instead he got a mother who enabled her husband and would forgive anything he does and a father who couldn't treasure him or his mother.

I love the last scene where Derang arrived like a knight to save his queen and his love and the relieved face of the little emperor ... I wonder what will happen to the concubine and her son. I think maybe Yanyan will adopt him ... Derang's father who dies at the same time as the Emperror is fate, he was faithful to the emperor to the end just like his son.😢💖

Then Mingyi tries to make Han Derang feel guilty for not wanting to stay & support him after the betrayal. And he expects Yanyan to give him her heart, when he completely betrayed their friendship. He may have been a wise ruler, but he was a horribly selfish and untrustworthy person. That's why I'm glad that Yanyan never gave him her heart; only her body & brain! He didn't deserve her heart and he knew that!

I don't know why but Xiyin and his sons death still made me sad Xiyin was a power grabbing shit but no parent should have to see their child die. It's so frustrating to feel this way cause I've hated him in this series. Even more sad was Wuguli was to passive and lost in her love for her husband to do anything to stop him. They were doomed from the start.
