The second comparison got me marveled… the SE came out muddier!

Fantastic comparison. I got the M200 a few years ago for USD 85 used as a beater guitar. I was blown away by how good it was.
Mine is the black one and it looks so close to the PRS Pre Standard black guitar. I always felt the sound was along the same lines so glad that the comparison confirms this.
Before this I would largely play a Mexican strat, but since I got this guitar, I almost always reach out for the Cort instead.

Yes. It is a more than decent guitar. I have to post also something about my Cort strat...which I got back from Brazil recently.

Got the same model used for 120€, almost like new. Had to realign the neck because high e was too close to the edge of the fretboard, and recently the toggle switch has a bad contact for the bridge pickup. The rolled of the fretboard and the fret ends and polished the frets.
It is a light and well build guitar. I‘d say it is the most comfortable of my other 8. The ceramic pickups are powerful and not bad. Not quite with the definition of very good pickups, but dynamic enough to let them in. But the bridge pickup needs fine adjustments in height (very close to the strings, 2mm) and individual height of the pole screws, to sound loud enough balanced with the neck humbucker. All in all a very good guitar, but I think with a better bridge pickup almost perfect.
Was surprized how warm the PRS sounded. Close to the Cort, but different. With its lower output pickups maybe something to expect, but still…

Yeah, the switch is not a keeper, lol. Interesting how I didn't notice the bridge was weak compared to the neck. I just measured the DC Resistance and the Cort has Neck=7.72K and Bridge=7.57K...I wonder if maybe they should be reversed. On the other hand, the PRS measures 8.17 in the neck and 8.76 in the bridge.

Oh, now I understand why the bridge pickup is so weak. I read some complains already on few comments on YT. Thank you for providing the DC resistance!
I intent to heavily modify this guitar. The neck is perfectly slim and comfortable with a nice round neck heel, so is the body with the cut outs and belly carve. The unplugged warm and full sound with very good sustain makes it very versatile for a lot of different pickups. From low output AlNiCo2 humbucker to high output, P90‘s and even for single coils. I will rout access from the back for interchangeable pickups mounted on wooden sockets. I‘m curious to try different pickups, but don‘t want to fiddle every time with the dismounting and soldering. The body wood is also very soft, that makes it easier for me. Because I‘m not a woodworker and don‘t have proper tools beside a Dremel like unit and some chisels and sharp pocket knifes😅.
      Cheers!🤘🏻
edit: Btw, I got the blind test right, but on the middle position I was little unsure because played less on mine with the faulty switch.😊

I own the satin finished Cort M200 that I purchased new. I added a Duesenberg Les Trem II Chrome TM85C and a roller bridge. I find the Cort sounds like it has more output and better mids.

The satin one looks pretty cool. It is a more recent right?
