I have the Q2U. The recording quality is unbelievable. However, you have to be really close to it or it is very quiet even on the highest sensitivity. And being very close, harsh popping sounds are a problem because they stand out from every other sound your voice makes so you need a thicker foam cover for that. If you're going to live stream it's not a good idea, but for everything else it would be great because you can just edit the recording to be louder.
have the mic face your mouth at a angle or have it pointing up from the bottom. Use digital gain in your streaming software if you are too low, just a couple solutions for the issues you mentioned.
I am extremely impressed by the quality and content of this video and it has guided me to getting a Samson Q2U as an upgrade over my plucky Blue Snowball for UA-cam content and other goals. Sincere thanks.
I recommend the fifine mic kit, it’s plug and play, only fifty dollars, and comes with a windscreen, pop filter and boom arm. Def my fav for the price point
I got my razer seiren mini after watching this it came in like a week ago it absolutely amazing and although it doesn’t pick up your voice as good as others that’s really not a issue as you can turn it up in windows itself and it does reject noise nicely but I do recommend using steel series gg to make it better I’ve Managed to get it to not pick up any background sound without a boom arm or pop filter also steel series Gg will allow you to add a keyboard shortcut to mute it
Great that there's zero pre-amble or needlessly prolonged sponsor segment, but is it bad that they all sound good and I can't really tell a difference?
I would recommend the xm8500 if you can get an xlr setup, which you can get one for around 100$ with the m-track solo audio interface from m-audio. It sounds really good and ive been using it for the past few weeks, would highly recommend this.
Did you have any problems with white noise? I read that the gain needs to be set high wit that mic. Also, how far away can you speak from the microphone for people to hear you in a Discord call?
If I use this for a zoom call, do I need to also wear headphones at the same time so that the audio I’m listening to doesn’t get picked up by a microphone?
Thanks for a great video... which affordable microphone do you think has the best sensitivity? My friend has MSA which has resulted in his vocal cords getting tremors & deteriorating, so his voice gets breathy and cuts in and out to the point that his phone mic can't pick up most of his voice and it sounds like his signal is dropping out. I can't understand most of what he says on the phone, and he is unable to use voice to text. Unfortunately, his whole body is affected so he can't do text to voice, either! Also, could you plug these into a smartphone? Or, would he need to use his laptop to make calls with messenger or zoom, etc.? Cheers.
I’m new and looking to do something with cooking and adding asmr. Would any of these be good for that or should I look elsewhere? Since I’m just starting I wanted to spend around $100. Anyway nice video. Thanks.
None of these are budget 😭 I understand that microphones are expensive so theyre cheap compared to others, but when i look up the word budget, generally im not looking for something thats $70-$80....
I have a HyperX Quadcast S and it keeps disconnecting over and over, im thinking cause its the USB or something so ive been thinking of getting an XLR mic like the Maono or Samson.
I pray that someone who knows what do do will see my here post. I bought the raser seiren mini off of this recommendation and have been running in circles trying to boom it. I currently own a Maono BA92 desk boom which came with a 5/8ths thread adaptor and industry standard 3/8ths thread. Razer's website page for the seiren mini also says that the mic socket will fit any 5/8th thread. However I cannot for the life of me boom this thing up. Thus far I've been through two separate packets of adapters and none of them are the same measurement as the thread that comes in the desk stand. I've been trying to work this out and get the actual dimensions of the thread from razer support / FAQs and have had zero luck figuring this out. What measurement is the thread on the boom arm in this video that lets the seiren mini screw on? Anything helps, thanks.
3 seconds in, LOVE how you just got RIGHT to the point in telling me what I want to know. Enough for me to drop a comment. Appreciate it!

Lol, if you look back on all his and all my mic vids, I actually did this thumbnail style first. Just that he is much bigger and has a wider reach.
