Unless that strap gets stored really dainty like, the webbing is going to slide right off the rounded hook ends. I just fold mine in half a number of time and tie it all into a neat half hitch.
I had to buy a bunch of ratchet straps recently after losing my old ones somewhere I wanted to take better care of my new ones. I followed some other UA-camr’s clever method and I’ve now undone all that to redo it this way, it’s way more secure and tidy. Cheers.

Ratchet it tight. Bounces around in the tool box and is fine.
