@JamesSmith-uc8tk I agree with you. The point I was making was that Turning Point USA deserves the same fallout as Trump does for what transpired that day. The church does too. Letting any politician address a congregation for political purposes is wrong. If a church chooses to take on that role, they should be forced to pay taxes, like any other venue or concert hall.
Churches that benefit from such events should start paying taxes on that income.
Isn't that the law - that their tax exempt status is connected to the church not engaging in politics?

I spent much of my adult life working with the military and the film industry so yes, I have a very colorful vocabulary. But I was also raised by a Southern Baptist mama who would kick my behind if she heard me say that in a church.
Can you share any film networking? I have Autism and write stories about world issues. I hope I can eventually sell yhem & give money to the poor.
I honestly don't think it's the vocabulary that's the issue here, it's the ugly intent behind it. And it feels very important to me that we really think about that. I've heard a minister intentionally say the f-word in a sermon and didn't feel that it dishonored the space in any way; rather, he was using it very clearly to give voice to the pain and helpless frustration that so many people were feeling with regard to the sermon topic. Whereas Trump might have never said any word worse than "darn" and it would still would be disrespectful of the space, because of the uncaring, opportunistic, self-serving cruelty behind his words.

I noticed that when Trump first ran for office, media accused him of him, which he was doing, in fact. In these reader forums, when lies were pointed, his defenders would say something like; "You just don't like Trump", without discussing any of the facts. The appropriate response should have been, to discuss what was true. Often time lies involve distorting true facts, as an example. I knew then, something was going wrong with our nation.
Also, his often used term "fake news" is philosophically an attack on Truth. Because real truth often has details. Whereas, that term, is used to avoid providing any details.
He was sent to steal, kill, and destroy...beware the great deceiver as he rips your soul from God's clutches
This is the great mystery. How can people so steeped in Scripture not understand that any voice encouraging you to steal kill and destroy is not " sent by God?"
Actually, that can't happen. You can't take your soul from God's hand, Satan can't either. No one can. God loves you so much; he sent his son to save your soul. He will never let you go.

Here in Arizona, we've been under an "extreme heat advisory." At his rally here the other day, 11 of Trump's supporters were overcome by the heat. This is a real problem here. People lose their lives every summer due to the heat. A true leader - priest, politician, whatever - should be at the very least concerned for the people listening to them speak. A couple days later, Trump had another rally in Las Vegas where it was also brutally hot. Did he express concern for his followers? No. In fact, he said this:
“They never mention me. I’m up here sweating like a dog,” he said. “[The] Secret Service said we have to make sure everyone is safe. I said, ‘What about me?’ We never thought of that. They don’t think about me. I’m working my ass off. I’m working hard.”
He doesn't care about his followers. He only cares about himself.
Trump as admitted that he doesn't care about his followers, just their vote.😡

When I started going to church it was all about love kindness peace and charity. To be as Christ like as possible. Nowadays millions are calling themselves Christian’s and there’s not a thing Christ like about any of them. Being a Christian is a lifestyle not just a title.

Dream City Church is a beautiful building and I have attended concerts there.
It's very troubling that 45 was allowed to hold a rally there. By allowing him the space, they defiled the whole place. I won't be attending anything else there.
This speaks volumes about the values of the leadership of the church.

I am writing to voice my disappointment in the decision of church leadership to allow the former president to hold a campaign rally at your beautiful sanctuary.
Though I am only an occasional visitor to your church, I am a licensed and ordained Christian minister who finds it a leadership failure to allow this event to occur. The demonstration to the world of people chanting obscenities in chorus after being prompted by the former president is awful.
As a Christian, I will not attend another event at your church. If that is the effect that I have, I wonder what people in need of a savior, Christ Jesus, think of the Dream City Church.

I'm not sure how you got into my feed but I've been following along for a few weeks and today, I finally hit the subscribe button. I am a Southern Baptist. I taught Sunday School for years. I loved doing it. When Trump started being preached from the pulpit, I knew this was not a place for me. I left the church but not my religion. Thank you for what you're doing! I'm not so alone in small town Texas!

I live a mile or two from this venue. It's the same place Trump held his resurrection rally after the Tulsa rally the potentially took his friend Herman Canines life due to Covid. The same group of "Young Republicans hoasted the event, their parents had to sign waivers releasing Trump of any responsibility for their childrens health. Our then (R) governor Doug Doucey was in attendance, masks were optional at the event while mandatory for the county. Two day's later the governor held a press conference with state health officials declaring that gatherings in large groups constitutes a high risk activity for Covid.

I know a bit about the beginnings of Dream City Church. (The Los Angeles one, of which this is a branch.)They had some genuinely exciting ideals and aspirations in the beginning. I knew some of the people involved. I cried when I saw the video. God help us. What in the world…?

Seeing people chanting a swear word in a church is truly shocking. But it shows how full of hate these people and their leader are. I’m sure they want to say Gid bless America too after they blasphemous chanted in his house.
