Thank you! People occasionally ask for battle reports. My real hesitation is that there are lots of people doing really excellent high production value ones, and I don't have what I need to make mine look comparable.
Great content, new Eldar player here, I appreciate it. Idea for non competitive video, how to balance Eldar for 1000 point games, meaning what are good self restrictions to ensure "fun" games when the non-Eldar player doesn't have a full 2000 points to deal with space elf trickery.
Thanks for the video! Always a good listen. As for future video ideas, I'd love to see a video about constructing semi-competitive lists for each major Craftword, keeping the flavour of each without defaulting to the same units. For example a ranger heavy Aliatoc list, or a guardian heavy Ulthwe list.
Have only just gotten into playing Aeldari, but your videos have proven very quickly to be the finest resource available. Also your Iybraesil models are absolutely lovely. Thanks Brent!
I love your channel and I have learned so much as an Eldar player. Learning about The Magnet Baron has been even more important! The Magnet Baron has revolutionized my miniatures collection! Thanks Brent!
Thank you for breaking this down and explaining in detail. I'm trying to get back into playing the game after a 6-edition hiatus (yes, haven't played since 4th) and objectives and points are hard for me to grasp. I do love to paint Eldar, though...
Hey Brent! You and Luetin09 are bringing me back into the folds of the Infinity Circuit. I've been writing my own lore (after reading the amazing book of Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, which is a must read fanfiction set in the Harrypotter universe) and I've been fantasizing of getting back into playing 40k thanks to you. Hope you keep making these incredible quality videos.
Hmmm, maybe my fun ynnari list is slightly competitive.... just no autarch generating cp 🤔 But I do have: - Yncarne - hawks - spiders - scourges - walker - shroud runners - Kabalites in a Venom - Corsairs in a Wave serpent. That's all quite fast. I do like that the autarch is kind of an auto-include for consistent strategic victory... they actually feel like brilliant commanders 😂
One of my favorite types of videos from your channel, FWIW, have been the ones that point out lesser known synergies, somewhat silly lists, etc. it also might be nice to have some more ideas for casual ways to play besides narrative for those who have opponents that are sick of being tabled. I play “infantry and transports only” with one of my friends, which limits my list way more than his because he plays WE.
Have you ever played a narrative campaign with those old “planetary empires” hex tiles? They would make a great “world map” but I’m unsure how you would actually use them. Any thoughts?
yes, there was an old warhammer fantasy supplent called mighty empire which had rules and cardboard hex tiles. they had really good campaign rule which could be adapted to the current systems you wish to use, the might empires which came with the plastic hexes had a simple system. but i preferred the old school stuff. i have the rules and hexes and will gladly share if you like.
I love the videos you do like this. Once again, it's helping me be a better player with other armies. Namely Drukhari this time but then they are similar so a lot is transferable. Thank you!!
Great video as usual, super helpful to have a close look at what the secondaries actually mean for our faction. I’d love to see an example of a competitive list that plays to the characteristics of each major craftworld. (Competitive as possible anyway)
Great vid as usual! You mentioned a couple times not being able to use fire and fade unless you shoot. There’s no requirement to shoot for that strat in the new edition.
I think we can attribute the Aeldari 65% win rate solely down to player skill, if we weren't all such amazing generals (thanks to people guiding us like Brent) we would be 50%. Aeldari is a perfectly balanced index played by perfectly balanced individuals. (Apart from that guy who tried to flush his loaded dice down the toilet at a tournament)
Do you think so too ? I am getting a bit annoyed at the constant Elf bashing. It is only the Index, but not perhaps that the players are good, and that other still play their armies like in 9th... Yes, some things are strong, but as you say, I believe just that in this edition, Eldars are just simply more rewarding than in 9th, for good players. I am undefeated so far in 10th, without single Prisms, WK, Nightspinners, and people still complain that my index needs to be nerfed..
@@AlexisBourratyou are correct. I started Eldar years ago. Been winning ever since, people complained and we even had an army swap day. I still won my games. Eldar players seem to know the rules better and utilize units more effectively. Its not the index, it is player skill. A balance Eldar army is a scalpel in a world of hammers,
Re-watching this and others. Hope it helps the algorithm, considering taking my Craftworlds out for a spin soon. Taking Warp Hunters, because I have them and the models are awesome. Might be lacking in punch without War Walkers and Fire Prisms but I don't have those so we do what we can :)
I think I quit tabletop before secondaries were ever a thing - when did Dawn of War come out, again? - but I've been watching 10th edition battle reports, and it's certainly interesting.
Can you add to your probably long list of videos to make, best drukhari units for an Ynnari list. I'm trying to figure out how drukhari work in a "craftworld" ruleset, as well as if they add any real benefits to an already incredibly strong faction.
Would you be willing to comment on how an Ynnari player like myself might approach these a little differently? I've been running an Yvraine blob for about 10 games now as my "durable" primary holder.
I really need to do a straight up Ynnari video, but I want to get a top 3 GT Ynnari player as a guest before I do Short answer though is you need to include some mobility units for scoring purposes- Hawks and Spiders are good candidates- the Yncarne is amazing, but does double duty with target elimination.
You mentioned fire and fade a few times, keep in mind that they changed it so that you no longer actually have to have shot to use the Strat. It can be super useful sometimes.
@@TheTheBarald it won me an RTT recently. The game came down to me taking his home objective for secondary and primary points, and if i had to shoot it would've allowed him to split horrors onto the objective, without having to shoot i was able to move onto the objective with my swooping hawks and take it, winning me the game
As always a wonderful video! If I got it right so I can advance with a vyper and then make an action considering it's still eligible to shoot with its twin linked shuriken catapult! Am I right?
Hey what units would you recommend for the first 500 or 1000 points of a totally brand new eldar player? Im not super keen to invest on a wraithknight if I dont have anything else right now so thats sort of out for now. And I dont want to double down on a unit only to have it get nerfed. I was thinking some rangers for sure though.
Cant find the answer so ama leave it here 😛 can my solitaire advance and do an action even if he doesn't have assault since he can advance and charge? I know pure melee units still count as able to shoot if they do a normal move so idk 🤷😅
Scatter Lasers are good, mortal wounds are better. The Wraithknight can really clean up if you use a fate die on the wound roll, but to a lesser degree you can do the same with a Dcannon- Blast helps. Fire Prisms and Nightspinners are also good
Hello, you seem very knowledgeable about eldar: I just played a game of 800 points against sisters and had no chance at all. Managed to kill St. Celestine once, (who then came back) and no other units at all. Do you mind looking at my list to see if it is the bad tactics or the bad unit list that led to this? 10x Corsair Voidreaver 3x Shining Spears 3x Shining Spears 1x Maugan Ra 1x Eldrad Ulthran 5x Swooping Hawks 1x Wave Serpent In particular the Voidreavers seemed underwhelming and massively overpriced for basic infantry.
Oh. Yeah. That list is not going to do it. You need armor: war walkers, prisms, maybe vypers- the Yncarne would be good, hornets, maybe a DCannon, maybe the Avatar of Khaine, shadow Spectres are good infantry- but your list as it stands is a casual 9th Ed list. 10th Ed eldar are all about vehicles and monsters
So I can only deploy teleport homer twice for the whole game? Or can 1 unit do it once per turn every turn? Or can two units do it in two different places every turn?
It depends. If you are playing with fixed objectives then you can and should do it every turn with one unit; (you can only ever do it with one unit.) If you are not playing with fixed objectives and you draw the card, you discard the card and score the points the first time you complete it. You will then draw a new secondary objective in its place in your next Command phase. Each player decides before the game begins whether to play with a single pair of fixed secondary objectives or to play "tactical missions" in which case you get new objectives every time you complete your current ones. Tactical Missions require greater flexibility and so are worth more points each time you succeed
You've got such a great grip on the details of the game. Would you consider posting games so we can see these tactics in practice?
Thank you! People occasionally ask for battle reports. My real hesitation is that there are lots of people doing really excellent high production value ones, and I don't have what I need to make mine look comparable.
