the half-sedated uncertainty/hesitation throughout the roleplay is truly the cherry on the top. it’s like she’s trying to convince herself the whole time, or she’s very distantly starting to doubt herself. a real identity crisis LMAO
The genuine adoration she spoke with about the founders of the company made me legitimately feel bad for the character. The acting in this is amazing!

People who don't vibe with asmr really underestimate how specific our interests can get. I don't know how I'd explain to someone that I like relaxing to someone pretending to work with me through a 45 minute long hotel checkin who talks in a low voice, or someone who's pitching a fake pyramid scheme (as in for a company that doesn't exist, rather than the product itself being a scam because let's be honest)

The first emotion that inspired mood pods not being a "heartwarming" corporate founder story about a desire for happiness when someone is struggling with depression or anything like that but for fear on an awkward haunted house date is such a slam dunk of a joke
And the hesitant stumbling justification of why we'd want to take "straight up sad" followed by "this one's funny :)" also cracked me up
Watching her entire confidence and identity shatter at the end was honestly heartbreaking 😭

I had a therapist that spoke with this EXACT cadence and tone. The slow breathiness, the over explanation, the flipping through the binder, the accent, it’s all spot on. She used to annoy me but this is oddly relaxing.
The Founders being Taylor Swift and the man she made fun of from the wedding planner vid is killing me!
It frightens me a little when mlm members know the bare minimum about what they’re selling lol, but also want you to buy them. 😭 Like how can I be confident buying a mewd powd of I don’t even know what herbs I’m inhaling. Also mom and dad!? 😂 I don’t have joining a cult in my budget.

This is so pitch-perfect with every single detail and word that she speaks. Please please make this a recurring character and every time she’s selling a new MLM but her dedication never flags because “THIS one is the best one yet and I just know it and you will too” and on and on.

As a southerner myself, you can't convince me you didn't grow up in the South bc no non southerner can nail a southern accent like that. If i had to guess id say North Carolina.
My bf is a native N Carolinian and I’m a (somewhere in the ballpark of 10-12th generation) Georgian. I 100% agree she’s gotta be from the south and I think it’s most likely NC too. There was something she said a specific way in a previous video (which now escapes me), but as soon as I heard it, I thought “yep! NC just like my mans!” Haha. So many subtle differences across the southern states, but they’re there If you know where to look!

The thing that makes this great satire is that, like most MLM products, if this stuff ACTUALLY worked like they say it does you wouldn't need to push it on people - it would be so popular the sellers couldn't keep it in stock.
Well they dont make their money from the customers, they make it from the people they indoctrinate
Strangely enough the way I found asmr was telling someone how much I like watching mlm videos not because I cared about the products but because I just really liked listening to certain people talk. Someone was like oh there are people that literally do videos on UA-cam just for this!

Long before ASMR videos, I had a yoga instructor who had a voice like that and I would call her studio all the time to listen to her voicemail message w the whole schedule of classes and info. It was a long message and so soothing. Old school ASMR 😂

Many of your unique characters would drive me crazy in real life, but I get so much comfort from the way you portray them. The only explanation I have is that in real life you are kind, comforting, and very very funny
i pondered this myself and i think a lot of it is that even the characters who are the little tyrants are "mostly harmless"-they don't have much real power to irritate you with their gatekeeping for more than few minutes of interaction and then you are on your way again, so you just accept this interaction in your life for what it is and proceed to observe this person anthropologically, as they operate in their environment, vigilantly defending their anthill from all assaults perceived and real
there's also the weird thing that sometimes the asmr effect can triggered by people with annoying personalities or affectations (often because it's in the formalized context of an occupation), and she clearly understands this with great subtlety, blending it with comedy where subverted expectations and plot twists are supposed to do anything *but* relax you *and* it still hits on every mark? i think she's in the process of creating something unique here.

I used to work in the hospital as a nurse, so lots of soft pitches for schemes. But this one night, one of my coworkers blessed us with a live demonstration of her special wash cloths. She smeared mayonnaise onto the glass and we got to act amazed that the rag wiped the mess. She's sweet, and we're in the south so it was awkward to come up with an idea as to why I could not attend her upcoming party..

Years ago I worked at a comic shop and an older woman approached me and we had a nice conversation. She then said she had an exciting opportunity she wanted to share with me since I seemed like such bright young man. A week later I’m sitting in a Starbucks with this woman and her husband as they pitch Qualstar to me. I had never run into multilevel marketing before so I sat through the whole thing. They both had such a genuine and gentle nature that my ASMR was on full blast. (Reason 2 that I stayed to listen.) Afterwards I did my research and discovered the scam it was. I felt bad because I could tell they really believed in the idea and needed me to believe it too.
oh my gawd i love these videos, like every specific detail. the whiteboard detail, the impeccable comedy, the natural asmr, just everything about them.
This made me reminisce so hard about the suburban moms ASMR! I think way too much so the complex storyline & plot in this series put me right to sleep. I cherish that series and if you ever feel ready to bring it back I’ll…probably fall right to sleep
