    I am currently looking into the UF online program for microbiology. I am debating on in-person or online and so far online sounds great. I’m actually planning to move to Gainesville regardless so I’m kind of just wondering if you can get the same kind of social interaction being on-campus, but doing classes online, because if so, it seems like a no brainer to save the money and get the same degree with basically the same experience.

    • @KindlyChristina
      @KindlyChristina  Рік тому +1

      How exciting! I’m almost positive you can. When you get into the program, you are required (even as an online student) to get a student ID and you can pay for access to ammenities (like the gym and stuff) but it’s not nearly as expensive as being on campus. I’m a huge advocate for finding loopholes and getting creative with education so I think this is a great idea and something I would probably do if I were near campus. Your professors will probably be out of the area so you can’t visit them but you are considered a true Gator so sororities, clubs, events, all of it, I think you could definitely access. I agree, a total no-brainer. I would also see if there’s anyone that has done what you’re thinking in the r/ufl reddit thread. Thanks for your comment, I hope this helps!

      thanks for your comment! I think someone else in the comments mentioned about being a psych student. The degrees through UF Online are 1:1 in quality (you get the SAME bachelors, your diploma doesn’t discriminate as “online bachelors”. Its the same quality bach as going in person) so I wouldn’t worry about it! However I definitely recommend reading that thread as Psychology is a good degree but versatile in some ways that it has its downfalls too. Definitely go check that out!

    I’m a little nervous about the rigor. I’m between continuing at my local community college and UF online. Have you heard anything about the RN to BSN program?

    • @KindlyChristina
      @KindlyChristina  11 місяців тому +4

      Hi! In terms of the RN to BSN program, I personally don’t know much about it however I would search and ask the r/ufl community on reddit. They will absolutely be able to give you more input on the difficulty and details of the type of work. I would say though, if you’re able to choose, UF may be more difficult but the quality of the education (for a similar price if you’re in-state) is absolutely worth the value. You can always go back to your community college if UF isn’t for you but a pretty sweet UF degree is worth it in my opinion! And I think it would give you a better chance of getting into higher education opportunities if you wanted to further your education in the future. I hope this helps, don’t be afraid, you GOT this!!!

    Hi! I’m a psychology transfer student and got accepted for in person at UF but looking at UF Online it seems like something I prefer however I was accepted for A BS track and don’t know whether it available for online. Is there anyone contact specifically ? Also does the diploma say that you were specifically “online” or is it the same diploma as if you were there in person? Thank you, sorry for being a little long very scared 😅

    • @KindlyChristina
      @KindlyChristina  Рік тому

      hey! Thanks for your comment, I hope I can answer your questions 😅 I’ll do my best!
      To start, is IS the same exact bachelors as everyone else! There is NO difference in the title or quality. It’s identical, 1:1 ! I’m pretty sure you can even go to the in-person graduation too :)
      Since you mentioned you’re a psych student, a few things I would personally recommend. Psych is a SUPER versatile degree. You can do a lot with it (and also nothing with it on a professional level unless you get a masters), I would recommend considering a combo degree program if you’re looking to pursue a Masters in the future. Essentially, it’s where you take some of your Master’s pre-recs while you’re getting your bachelors, making your masters easier to achieve and cheaper in the long run! I could have gotten that a little messed up so absolutely ask your guidance counselor. but ASK. You can even get a high quality masters online through this program!
      To answer your question though, UF Online does has a psychology degree but it is a BA. I don’t know the difference but so would seek out UF Online (they have their own one stop dept) and ask them. They’re so helpful! If you’re already admitted in inperson, i’m almost positive you could make the switch to online if you feel that’s better for you. Here’s more details about the online degree.

      @@KindlyChristina Honestly, thank you so so much for taking the time to answer! Your video and response helped me tons!
      You are completely right about psych being versatile. I gained a spark of interest reading about the programs that UF Online offers. I was looking since there is not BS Psych. I was interested in the Microbiology & Cell Science program since I plan to go to PA School right after my bachelors. However, I am a little scared because I am missing 2 pre-reqs for the program so I am not sure if I could switch, do the combo degree, or have the possibility of being denied to that program.
      Yes! UF has an amazing online masters program. Honestly, it is pretty amazing how much UF has to offer, I wish I knew this sooner. It is like they want students to be there one way or another while still achieving opportunities. I'll for sure look into it after I graduate.
      Thank you tons for the links, they all definitely helped so much!

      @KindlyChristina  Рік тому

      @@kellyc1975 hi! sorry for the delay! I’m just seeing this! I’m so glad my comments could be of help!
      So when I applied to my major, I was missing a pre-req! What you can do is you can still apply (again, talk to an advisor but i’m almost positive this is an option for you and i know they’ve recently made it more lenient!) and you can get accepted for the major but be required to take the pre-reqs at UF before taking your required courses! You can also take those at a college you’re already enrolled in before hand to qualify but UF has a program if you’re only missing a few!
      I agree, it’s beautiful how they want to see you succeed AND get a fantastic education! It’s part of why I love their program so much.
      YOU GOT THIS!! It’s absolutely worth trying and applying anyways :) Let me know if you have any other questions ❤

    Hey i will be a senior this year in high school. And i want to apply for UF online for my undergraduate degree. Is the admission straight being test score and gpa? Is there like a common app essay i have to prepare when applying? Sorry im so nervous

    • @KindlyChristina
      @KindlyChristina  Рік тому +1

      Hi! Congratulations on being so close to graduating! I think UF Online would be so great for you if you’re wanting a reasonably priced and quality education. I applied as a transfer student, so I already had my AA. However I did have AP class credits transferred and such. You will have an essay to write as well but I don’t remember it being too complex. I highly recommend showing some personality in your essay for sure and being positive it is grammatically beautiful. If you have an AP lang/lit teachers at your high school, even if you’ve never taken their classes, I recommend reaching out to them to have them review and revise your essay for an extra set of eyes. I will be honest, I’m not positive I would’ve gotten into UF as a freshman as it is notoriously harder than transferring. If for any reason you don’t get in (although I will be praying that you will!), I would highly encourage finding out the pre-requisites for the UF Online program you’re interested in, doing them while getting your AA at a community college or state college (like I did) and applying with a nice GPA as a transfer student from Junior & Senior year. It is way easier to get in that way as they’re more lenient! That’s what I did and it has been a super fantastic alternative and still relatively cheap. If it’s not now, it doesn’t mean never! Transferring is WAY easier than being a freshman although I will be making sure to pray that all goes super well for you, Daniel!

    • @KindlyChristina
      @KindlyChristina  9 місяців тому

      @@ko-kf2nu I think in general, college is what you make of it. When I went to traditional university, I knew a lot of people (myself included) who were either super involved or not involved. You do have to put yourself out there to get involved, it’s not going to just happen. So it depends on your willingness to explore and meet new people for sure. You can have extreme partying, extreme studying, or balance and everything in-between. The first year is usually the hardest and craziest but like I said, it really just depends on your goals and priorities from college. This is a season to learn a new part of your for sure with more freedom and less judgment than you might have experience in high school. At the end of the day, the best decision for you is based on what you’re looking to get out of college, but it also takes stepping out and making that happen (whether it’s new friends, new experiences, good grades, etc) I hope this helps give some perspective.

      @@KindlyChristina what do u think about online university then? Is it worth it to persue online university vs traditional university?Please kindly share some pov...

    • @KindlyChristina
      @KindlyChristina  9 місяців тому

      @@ko-kf2nu it depends, are you going simply for the degree and a little bit of the online experience, or more for the experience/community?
      At the end of the day, what you have to show is a certificate that you did the classes. Can you afford traditional? Are you going to be in major debt for the in-person experience? it really depends on your priorities.
      I went to uni in person for 1 semester and racked up way too much in student loans and decided it wasn’t worth it for me. You can definitely go in person but don’t have to stay.
      Having the “in-person” experience isn’t necessarily better. It just depends on what you want to get out of it.
