    ABOUT SEMENGGOH ORANGUTAN REHABILITATION CENTRE:
Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is the largest Orangutan sanctuary in Sarawak (Southern part of Malaysian Borneo). It is one of the few places in the world where you can see Orangutans in a semi-wild environment. A unique experience!
The park, that is more than 700 hectares in size, is home to a total of around 30 orangutans, all varying in age. They can roam freely through the park and will be placed back into the wild once they are ready.
The orangutans are fed twice a day, around 9:00 am and around 3:00 pm. During feeding times, you’ll have the greatest chance of spotting the animals, as they will descend from the trees and head to the special feeding areas.
Semenggoh is located about 24 kilometers from Kuching city, and can easily be reached by bus, taxi or car. The center is open every day from 8.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.
A visit to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre should definitely be on your Borneo Trip Itinerary!

Hi Widiasih, yes it is the largest sanctuary in Sarawak (southern part of Malaysian Borneo). The number of orangutans in the centre actually varies, but was around 30 when we visited. This might not seem like a lot, but keep in mind that these animals are severely endangered.
