- In the lush forests that line the shores of Lake Maninjao in Indonesia, countless coconut trees thrive. Burhan, the expert in the art of monkey training, takes in Bobo, a newcomer warmly welcomed by his wife, Raïna. Burhan's goal is to educate Bobo in the art of harvesting coconuts.

This is my village. The shore of the lake is no longer as beautiful as in this film. There are too many fishing nets placed on the edge of the lake. But the beauty of the lake, coconut trees, rice fields and surrounding hills is still beautiful. 2 of my cousins still live in the village on the edge of the lake. Miss the tranquility of the villages sorround this lake.
Are the monkeys still picking coconuts. I hope so!
@DrDrewable there are still lots of them, I like to see their action of picking coconuts, there are even monkeys who are good at teasing people, they lean on people with their buttocks and stick out their tongues

You don't think people should breed animals and sell them? I agree to a point with that like the White English terrier. They had defects of being highly inbred where majority were born deaf and blind. That being said humans marry and have offspring with their first cousins in other cultures and some of the children born can have birth defects that are extremely painful and live a short miserable life as well but I am not going to say that to have been born at all would be better for these children not at all would I say that. I've seen some of the most appreciative and beautiful souls born with some of the most difficult hurdles to over come.

Bobo gets lots of love, does work to keep her happy. They are very smart and they have to keep busy and learning. Know that she is loved. Soon he won't need a leash because he will be her whole world. He is sad, he needs another monkey. Or bobo back. At least she came to her senses

@@francesca5409so when in public or where your dog is not used to you don't control it with a collar and a leash? I've seen how monkeys are treated by other monkeys and it's some times hard to watch their politics. The higher ranked female monkeys will kidnap a lower ranked female's baby and let it starve to death so I guess it just depends on your view point. But I only put a leash on my dog when I have to otherwise I look at her like my connection or window to the creator.

Negri pahlawan. Minang adalah suku yang paling berpengaruh di asia tenggara karena ke intelektualan nya, bahkan ada 5 negara yg pernah di dirikan/pimpin orang minang: malaysia,indonsia,brunei,singapura, dan philipina.
Ga tau ini dokumetar kapan di buat, tapi saya merasakan daerahnya sangat alami , asri dan indah, tidak ada sampah plastik, apakah kondisi syuting dulu sama dengan sekarang daerah sana ?
@@karmabali7361 insyaAllah masih sama asri karena mayoritas jiwa orang minang cinta kebersihan, minimal setiap 1 pemukiman, mereka secara tidak langsung menentukan 1 tempat sampah umum sementara, lalu bisa di bakar atau daur ulang, matanya gatal liat sampah di sekitar pekarangan rumah, hobinya nyapu pake lidi/ijuk : "kebersihan sebagian dari iman", sedangkan moto suku minang: "adat berdasarkan syariat islam, syariat islam berdasarkan Alqur'an" jadi tuntunan jalan hidup sehari-harinya tudak jauh dari kebanyakan muslim taat.

This video is a very good story. Many people misunderstand animal freedom. So far we have been trapped in the idea that monkeys should be released into the forest. If we put something well, what can go wrong? what about people keeping buffaloes, keeping horses to use their energy to help humans. What about zoos, orca whale ponds that show them off for money? Just the same, the animals remain imprisoned. There are many monkeys roaming freely on the Indonesian island of Sumatra and this man took one to look after it well. Then the monkey was used to help them work. They are not greedy, just take one.

I'm a Minang 😃 My father is from the Koto clan, like the man in this Video. My mother is from the Jambak clan.
I belong to the Jambak clan though, because Minang is a matrilineal society, children follow the mother's blood line. The communal land and the traditional houses also owned collectively by the women of the clan 👍

This is a beautiful story. As Westerners we have absolutely no right to judge those that running water would be a luxury, let alone hot water. Things we take for granted they will never know of. Their happiness is in their simplicity. If you disagree with this, fine but unless you have walked in their shoes, you have no right to say what is right or wrong. They had monkeys far longer than we’ve had cats or dogs.

That’s the thing, to these people having running water is a privilege let alone it being hot water. Things we take for granted everyday, these people will never know. As Westerners we really have no right telling them how to live. Instead of judging them, we should be learning from them bcuz their happiness is in their simplicity. Agama & ummat islam dibentur2kan dgn negara & nasionalisme, dgn memakai narasi2 Kodran-Kadrun radikal-radikul, teloris2 kilapah ngarab... blabla...blablablah...
Merajalela nya paham kebencian dan permusuhan gakjelas (kpd sesama muslimin yg berbeda pandangan atau mazhab) dgn dibalut tuduhan2 wahabi, radikal-radikul, khilafah2 anti pancasila anti NKRI, itu semua diawali nya sdh lama dari thn 90 an.
Di akhir tahun 80 an-awal 90 an, Gusdur mempublikasikan buku kecil tulisannya sendiri dgn judul ttg ancaman dan bahaya "Islam Transnasional" (buku yg diterbitkan "Wahid Institute" tsb hingga sekarang masih beredar dlm bentuk pdf).
Buku tsb dijadikan "kitab babon" oleh pengikut2 gusdur utk berkembangnya paham2 yg mencurigai dan memusuhi kelompok lain yg berbeda pandangan/mazhab.
Di era sekarang, paham dan ajaran permusuhan tsb semakin terasa memuncak, seiring dgn kader2 penerus ajaran gusdur (trmsk Abujanda & petinggi2 banser) sdh menduduki posisi2 penting dan berada di lingkar pusat kekuasaan.
Nah tuh.
Kadrun itu panggilan buat orang kafir. Yang tuhanNya orang timur tengah"kadal gurun"
@@cegek3069 kadrun artinya kadal gurun,sebuah stigma negatif yang dibentuk untuk menyudutkan pemeluk islam yang taat.kalo pake jenggot dan celana cingkrang dibilang teroris,tapi kalo penampilan kebarat baratan dibilang muslim moderat/modern,pemikiran ini lahir dari kaum liberal dan sekuler apapun agamanya atau tidak beragama sekalipun,kalo sering sholat berjamaah ke masjid,rajin belajar ilmu2 agama islam yang sesuai tuntunan qur'an dan sunnah dibilangnya wahabi.bagi kaum liberal dan sekuler kebebasan tanpa keterikatan dengan hukum agama dan tidak menggunakan simbol2 agama itu yang baik menurut perspektif mereka,yang penting tidak melanggar hukum,orang2 seperti ini di indonesia mayoritas dari penganut kristen dengan beragam sekte dan denominasinya,sedangkan dari islam orang2 seperri ini berasal dari orang2 yang mendewakan akal daripada wahyu (mu'tazilah),seperti buya syakur,ada juga dari kelompok sufi yang merupakan kebalikan dari mu'tazilah,beragama penuh dongeng,hayalan dan prasangka2 seperti buya arrazy,KADRUN pertamakali dipopulerkan oleh PKI di era orde lama,kemudian menghilang dan sekarang muncul lagi,saat ini yg mulai kembali mempopulerkan kata kadrun untuk menyerang islam adalah kristen,kalau mau berfikir terbuka dan ilmiah bukankah YESUS juga kadrun??? berasal dari timur tengah (yerusalem/israel),kristen indonesia hanya paham doktrin dan dogma,seolah olah kalau timur tengah berarti arab dan islam,israel itu yahudi,iran itu persia beragama syi'ah bukan islam dan bukan arab,lebanon itu negara arab yang 50% nya adalah katholik.kecuali kristen mengakui yesus bukan dari timur tengah/padang gurun tapi dari yunani,sama seperti original text biblenya perjanjian baru berbahasa yunani maka terputuslah kristen dari agama SAMAWI dan memang bukan agama samawi tapi ajaran PAGANISME.
