    It never feels easier, you just run faster or for longer. This is so true!! I've been at many different stages of fitness in my running journey and I couldn't agree more that running never, ever feels easier!
    You're doing so well.. keep going!

    At some point in the future I'd like to see you following one of those stock training plans off the internet and talk about what the experience is like vs having a coach. I often wonder, as a slow amateur, what having a coach would be like. But it feels like it would be a waste of their time.

    The shoes I have found are the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2. They seem to work for my feet, so when Amazon had a “2 for 1” deal, I bought enough to last for another year. I use them for basically everything minus recovery. For recovery I have a pair of NB rebel v3.

    I've become a bit of a Saucony fan over the years. I use Triumphs for long comfy runs and Speeds for races and sessions. I do have Pros but I think the added stiffness isn't great for my Achilles so I'm using them a bit less...and of course I have more than one pair of each and have totally gone overboard on shoe purchases generally...

    Hey Daniel.... I've been a runner for more years than my nieces (ages) .... but Brooks Ghost are a safe road shoe.... and pretty good on the off road..... I 'm also fond of the Hoka Mach 5 (super soft) when you are running Ultras and your feet just need that bit of cushion - mind you I ran my last Ultra in Brooks Ghost.... so all the advice I can say is get on the treadmill in your local and get 'Gait Analysis' done!!!! then you will get your feet measured and the drop... Enjoy!!

    I’ve just spent a long time looking for new shoes and fell down a bit of a rabbit hole… I ended up with the Rebel v3’s which are good (50% off was my deciding factor) but from what I saw nearly everyone was recommending the ASICS Superblast if you had unlimited money. Shoes: I've done a lot of kms - close to 1200 - in Saucony Ride 15s. It's neutral, very light upper - whole shoe is super light but it's not as cushioned as my NB 880s so nowhere near the 1080s. Quite a good shoe for being an "everything" shoe - used it for some of the faster sessions Phily sets me as well as long runs.
    For the long easy though the NB is super soft. I've an older pair of Saucony Endorphin Pro 2s that I use for the scarier sessions she sets as well as race day.

    I love the ASICS NovaBlast 3. It’s a great all around shoe for many types of runs. Lots of cushion and bounce while still able to handle faster paces. I’m a very average runner, and I don’t want to buy multiple pairs of shoes. I just ran my first ever half marathon. I decided to stick with them instead of switching to a race day shoe because I just love how comfortable they are. I finished in 2:06 on a very hilly course and the Nova blasts held up well. Absolutely not sponsored by New Balance, but 1080s are king! I reckon I've tried 5-6 different neutral cushioned shoes over the years and I love 'em. FuelCell RC Elites are great for races/big track sessions.

      1080s seem to be super popular! They are good I just preferred my old Clifton’s but I’m definitely down to try the SC elites!

    New Balance 1080's are by the best everyday running shoe in my opinion. Preferably V10s and V11s with the slip on backs, I'm guessing you have V12s?
    I've tried Brooks and other rival comfort shoes, and they're a bit clunkier, and the foam isnt as good, or doesnt feel as fast.
    Edit: the Rebels are brilliant as well, as someone as commented already, not as durable as the 1080s but faster and more responsive, whilst still good for easy runs

      Yeah I have the V12s but they just aren’t as good as the Hokas I had 😂 but I’ve heard good things about the rebels aswell I might check them out 😊

    perhaps pop round to to up and running or runners need maybe to get a fitting from a wider variety of brands beyond nb and hoka? cuz my foot and all these other commenters' feet and your feet and gait and weight and mechanics are all different. this could be a fun video too for newbs to see what specialty store experience can be like?

  • @mareb7660
    @mareb7660 Рік тому

    Honestly, I would just go to a running store and describe what you want and let them pick 😅
    I find that everyone has a different rec, and the chances they work for what YOU need might be slim. A running store knows all the Knitty gritty and can look at what support your feet need.

    Asics gel culumus 24 range for training and long runs - really good ankle support and heel supports, makes them really stable for every day running but still gives you really good feedback
