Lovely job- hate to say this but small typo; 'sterring wheel' on display card sticker. Happens to the best of us :)

Cracking paint job. I try to use etch primer on every resto i do. Found like you. ordinary primer does not take to die castings. even on mono layers, I tend to get various problems like blow holes due to some reaction or another. I had to buy the battery holder from model supplies. I came in the form that you stripped yours down to. Still couldnt get mine to work, It also needs the holder packing out in places. sits sloppy in the baseplate without it

I’ve seen other restorers use acetone to clean the metal before painting. The oil from our fingers may prevent paint from sticking, may use gloves. I don’t know for sure. I absolutely love this ambulance. You did a great job. I’m glad I found your channel. Keep up the great work.

Just found your channel, lovely job, bummer when the masking tape pulled the primer off, had that as well, but this really turned out beautiful and the display base/ card really finishes it off. Nice collection you have on your shelves! 👌👍

11:10 ... You wrote 'sterring wheel' but it should be 'steering wheel'.
    Great video, none the less.

I'm only Rattlecan at this stage,do you use Matt paint then a Varnish.
    You are incredible.
I love the rotary tool,it's slim.
    Is the rotary tool airpowered.

hi Tommy yes it is matt paint + clear coat. the rotary tool is basically an electric small drill :)

      Hi Chris,
Thanks,I'm in Dublin and I can get the MTN MONTANA RATTLECANS quite good prices and tons of colours though eventually hoping to
      graduate to airbrush.
I bought a Guild rotary tool from Argos,it's basically a Dremel copy, the attachments are very poor but I bought Dremel rotary brushes and the Guild motor is a decent enough implement.
I have restored a couple Dinky fire engines and I'm pleased.
It is a hobby and my approach is,no rush,Mick up and laugh and tea n chocolate biscuits.
There's enough stress in our World.
Anyway enjoy the hobby and thanks.
