- The Cadillac Ambulans superior model was produced by the Mittoy company in the years 1963 - 1968. It was very technologically advanced. It had a signal lamp that turned on while driving. To display subtitles in your language at the bottom of the video, please press C on your computer or the three dots on your mobile in the video. The two-color painting in white and red was very attractive and additionally increased the demand for this model. After 1965, the Mittoy company changed the painting of the model to white combined with a blue top. My model was incomplete. The chassis did not have a battery compartment and a signal lamp on the roof. I refurbished the entire model, I replaced the glass with a plastic one made by me. I used a diode with an electronic circuit for signaling. I also made new tires and a box. I had this exact car when I was young. I collected Corgi cars and would build cities using wooden blocks. Of course this was over 60 years ago. I’m amazed to see this ambulance. What a fun blast from the past. Really fascinating to watch how you bring something back to life. Hats off to you man.
So did I….. It was a birthday present from my dad…. I took it to school with me to show everyone… but, before the day was out, it vanished. And that was the last I ever saw of it; until watching this. 😢

I remember having this car, but the paint was completely white.
And I used it as the Ecto 1 from GhostBusters and using cardboards for making the FireHouse.

Instead they relate the entire restoration to a superficial reference based on the viewing of a movie from Hollywood.
My guess is these dunces more resemble the care less twits that allowed this toy to look the way it did before being restored by a master craftsman.

Yet again you've outdone yourself with this restoration. I'm absolutely gobsmacked with your dedication to restoring great toys of a bygone era.
Now, my father had the exact same toy given to him as a xmas present from his grandmother as a kid. As he grew up, he was made to give it to much younger cousin to play with. It was in pristine condition, it ended up damaged in a sandpit. My father was absolutely furious with the condition he saw in years later. Hence to say he wasn't very impressed with his cousin.

Perhaps it's the passage of time playing tricks. I had a corgi ambulance similar to this, but I recall that the small lights front and rear on the roof also flashed. I cannot remember any siren sound. More especially I remember the tailgate opened and there was a stretcher in the rear section.
I know that Dinky made a similar ambulance and I may be thinking of this.
Happy to be dispelled of these memories as the passage of years and hopeful youth...🤔

What a dog's breakfast, Paul. You did a beautiful job bringing that ambulance back to life. I remember one from that Era but the details are wrong. It was a Pontiac with a swing-up rear door and a gurney inside. It used AAA batter which I never had so I don't remember if anything worked beside the beacon light.
I've building models since Airfix kits came in hang-up bags and I have lots of trophies but you're a magician. There used to be a show on TV where they restored old cars and their slogan was,
Don't crush them -- restore them.

As always Paul you show how clever you are in this film. I respect your processes mostly to recreate these models. But in this case I cannot agree that this is a 'restoration'. This is more an adaptation and a 21st century improvement on a 20th century model. A purist would say this model never had sound or the circuitry that you have installed. Sorry , clever , but true restoration ,no.
