I really, REALLY want to believe this. I played countless runs like this back in the day (I mean hundreds of them, clearing CS 100% etc.). And after all these years, the highest runes I got was a Gul. Once. And nothing above. Seriously, not a single high rune has ever dropped for me so far. In one of the LoD patches, they raised the high rune drop rates. That was a long time ago, but it was really brutal to legitimately get high runes before that & maybe that's when you played

Nice video, I subscribed. You have a unique and calm style, really cool. I'd like to admit that I hate trading. I forced myself to try it a bit after seeing your video on "Simple Trick For Enigma In 24 Minutes", and so far I got some (hopefully solid) trades. But I still don't find it enjoyable. I had this very same attitude ever since I started playing Magic back in 1996. If I wanted to study market and economics, and if I wanted to have a secondary job, I'd definitely do so in a different context than a gaming hobby. I know that it may be silly, but whatever. I have a similar farming route as you have, except that I jump through Arcane Sanctuary to kill the Summoner, and then I completely skip CS due my Finite Sorceress (got it?) being a git too squishy for that area. I added Lower Kurast, not that anything ever drops, but it's kinda funny to scavenge the huts. For those people who shy away from trades and/or who don't have tens of hours weekly to spend in D2R, I realized that it's kinda profitable to farm the thrash/low runes and Pgems. People won't give you anything enigmatic for that, but gems drop like flies, and all those Nef, Ral, and Amn runes can be sold in bulk for either a crappy item you need or a mid rune. It doesn't seem like much, but as long as your character has space in backpack, and the D2R inventory managment is much more user-friendly than the old drag-and-move style of LoD, farming this garbage is not that annoying. After all, what would you pick up when nothing else dropped? And yep, it's [ber] rune, that's true! Cheers!
Yesterday I watched your video. Today in the same place where you've got your Jah in River of Flame found Vex. Killing monsters on road to farm place. Thank you sir!
I have 3 separate barbarians setup now of all different types. It took me 28 days from starting to make enigma. It took me 8 days to make my first botd and then I just kept farming nilathaks temple with angelics rings amulet and armor for the mf, used ik boots and helmet for their mf and a 28 nagel. Obviously none of these effects rune drops but it did effect my high amount of highly rare elite unique drops. All of my high runes like ber and jah came from pots in the temple or barrels in the tower in act 1. Also found my first soj in the tower as well. But typically, I find that though the rate of rune drops are random, wherever you find your first high rune should dictate where you should be farming for runes and forget going anywhere else. In the first 15 days, I found multiple sur runes in the temple and none anywhere else. I would suggest that you try that method, farming all areas at first until you hit your first high rune drop and then you keep repeat farming that area over and over game after game and clear out the entire place because you never know where or what they're going to drop from. But you definitely have a very good method here, it seemed to work well for you but honestly, it doesn't always work great for everyone. Some people report doing this repeatedly and come up with nothing out of 50 or even 100 runs as for runes. But for loot, this is a decent idea. I'd also recommend you go after the ancient tunnels in the lost city of a2 and the pit in the Tahoe highlands in a1 if you're looking for elite unique drops.
I totally agree. I tend to turn my runs into full runs as in killing all bosses on way there too. It does take longer. But baal runs for example i have gotten alot gg drops from the way there that otherwise i wouldnt have gotten and take that longer time but potential gg drops its certainly not a clean cut rushing to end spot killing main boss and resetting. Your way (as i do it) i think its better and of course not as boring. Keep up the great vids! But as everything its my opinion which will differ on people.
Trading and early joining are really the keys to success. Even if you don't find the best loot immediately, you still get a bunch of stuff that can be valuable to others. Knowing the true value of seemingly worthless "common" items is more important than pure luck. It's also a good strategy to sell off valuable loot early (like the shako) even if it comes at (a minor) loss of your farming efficiency. You can buy it back later for much cheaper if really needed.
@@withnofiller Getting rid of it would be insane, but they did insane stuff before, so... Maybe they make it even more convenient this time. What a great surprise would that be.

Also in the channel you rarely find people that just have 30 terror-keys lying around for trade straight away.
Possessed never made much sense to me. Are you telling me that this Demon is being Possessed by another Demon? Why not just send them both? ... wildly inefficient. Pure gold my man!
I’ve been preaching this to my brother. He thinks I’m just super lucky with my drops but it’s really just clearing everything instead of teleing to a destination 100x. The best drops are during the journey and not the destination. I found a 2OS COA recently, zod, Jah, 3xvex in chaos sanctuary single player. Found eth titans in bloodmoor. Many many other goodies, always found before the destination. I kill everything in my path. Takes more time but it’s more rewarding.
D3 has engrained in me to auto kill any nice champ packs without even thinking about it. D3 is the same in the sense that I find all my best items off of random non elite monsters and from regular chests and breakables

Everyone in the forum knew, that they could always get keys from me, so that reliability allowed me to set the prices slightly higher than the current channel-price and I got some good stuff from there. Also in the channel you rarely find people that just have 30 terror-keys lying around for trade straight away.
Very good vid man, keep making some more d2r vids
Excellent video as always!
I need more!
5:38 at your list of runs. I am doing the same thing too except for Nihlithak. I might gonna add that on my run too.
This guy is now my favorite UA-camr ever. He has the same sense of humor as me. Keep it up.
I love it, Dr. Evil killing everything in his path. Hopefully your brother (Austin Powers, I assume?) will see it more like you
more fun as well
D3 has engrained in me to auto kill any nice champ packs without even thinking about it. D3 is the same in the sense that I find all my best items off of random non elite monsters and from regular chests and breakables
