- Today I am installing a Ford OEM style backup camera on my 2005 Ford F-150 King ranch. Below is where I bought the camera from.

Great video man! Looks like a lot of work. I have a question. I want to do this to a truck without the factory ford emblem imprinted in, would my flush tailgate cause issues? 1996 f250
Shouldn’t be any issues, but you’ll have to cut out a hole but that’s probably about it
That's not too bad, I don't love the thought but if it's covered 100% or the time why not
what you should have done is you should have left the old wiring harness and then taped the new one to the old one and then you should have pulled it so you could fish it through
It was a totally different harness, I did consider that though.

What is flixzone
Any issues with the camera flickering when in reverse and you hit the brake? I think it's a ground issue but it's been too cold to mess with it.
I actually forgot to wire it up so it comes on auto and it’s been too cold out to touch anything so I’m waiting until it’s a little warmer out
I have the old license plate one too, you think I could just buy the tailgate one cut the wires and hook the new to old?
I looked at it and thought so too, but my wires were completely different.

@@carlosaguilar3787 yeah I tried to reuse the old wiring but it didn’t work out. It wasn’t too bad anyways, worst part was getting the emblem to sit flush
I did install the tailgate handle camera on my 04 get it on Amazon work good 😎🙋🏻♂️👍

I had this wired, and working then took it for a test drive. Now the headset is not reading the device... Not sure what it can be as I rechecked all the connections, and wires. Also re-checked the video connection to the back of the radio.... Do you have a wiring diagram??
Hmm, weird I don’t have a wiring diagram but maybe contact the seller. Or try and get a new one sent to you. I never had any of those issues and I’ve had it now for around 3 months now
@@Sam_Stew long story short the camera was off via the headset lol... I wired it via the reverse cable to front passenger side fuse box so it comes on when i slap her into reverse. Thx for the tutorial
