The ability at 19:24 to remember the bank you're in when switching tracks fixes my biggest issue with the MPC interface. This is such a nice quality of live improvement.

Thanks for another excellent tutorial.. There's no mention anywhere by Akai if the MIDI learn bug has been fixed, but I really hope it has been addressed in this update.

I have a precise question about 2.10 bugs and fixes in 2.11
- do "project level" q links save properly now ? If assigned to a return, submixes or master fx parameter, they simply don't save with the project ... Same problem occurs with midi learn with midi learn on these parameter... So I hope so much a fix in 2.11 :)
- midi note off conflict between two midi or keygroup tracks receiving different midi channels but cutting each other on one midi note off.
- and a so.important improvement : reorder of track and sequence ?

When you are in the old browse mode that lets you scroll through and audio-preview items in the sortable columns, can you favorite kits/samples/etc. or do you have to be in the new sounds browser to set favorites? And is there any audio preview in that new tiled sounds mode? That is a huge missed opportunity if not.
This has been the biggest dealbreaker for me with MPC compared to Maschine where I can browse through my sounds/presets/kits and set favorites so I can easily recall stuff I like later. (I own both but this particular issue drove me crazy and was why I switched.)
I'm so f-ing stoked for the new update! I got my MPC Live 1 as a B-stock for $850 at the beginning of Covid, and I've been extremely happy up to this point. This just sweetens the deal. I've been doing this for a while. I remember how excited I was to get my brand-new ESX-1 for $500 back in '05, and look where we are at today. I had the MPC500 (also $500 at the time?) when it came out back in '08 or '09, and that thing was a disaster. I recall that note polyphony was a big issue, and definitely not as advertised. I ended up selling it 6 months later through Craigslist to some music director of a church for $350 and never touched another MPC until I got my Live 1. Akai has really stepped up their game over the years, and I am extremely happy with this product and I am counting down the days until the 2.11 release date.

Also, the tuner is a nice addition, but I wish we could tune the internal synths away from the standard 440hz (I love 432hz)

It’ll be interesting to see if the convert to sequence from song mode ignores the probability and ratchets like it ignores everything else.

But where is the Velocity button now in the Grid Editor?? Its much more complicated to change the velocity with the „bars“ which u used for changing the „probability“ of the notes!

Hi, unfortunately a new problem has come up since the update I have strange qlink jumps when I change a preset in a MPC standalone plugin.
And in standalone you still can't copy or move automations,
select all notes in the grid window,
Q-Link as midimap,
Midi learning like Q-Link learning on the fly,
move/swap channels and FX with drag and drop.
Can the tuner get the key of a sample instead of using the key detect ?
Are you experiencing the bug where 3rd party VST’s can’t be saved as a preset to the favorites? Also, browse to save 3rd party VST’s without going thru four or five clicks/menus?
This makes you really appreciate how much more intuitive the Maschine is. The way it handles pads,chords,drums,oneshots with a single sampler interface. I still like the MPC but NI really got it right.

Jungle , IDM etc just got a lot easier in MPC with Slice automation & Ratchets. Good additions!.. Would you know if the Ratchets amount can be changed and also programmed into automation? e.g. ratchet amount changing per step

Further to my comment below, it looks like they fixed a few not all of the bugs in 2.10. ……however they’ve replaced em with a bucket load more.
Here’s a few of many bugs I spotted
A. Mpc one . Unable to make first three automation sliders in step sequencer reach 100 % they only reach 97%. Think it’s only on the Mpc one though.
B. Clicks and pops when changing a sample in keygroups to mono especially when release is higher.
C. There seems to be a random midi controller being activated , this is not normally allowed in standalone , if you never attach a keyboard or controller you’ll never notice this . But you can eg. Operate the pads from a keyboard. Start, stop, record the sequencer. . And if it picks the right controller , operate qlinks. I wonder if they’ve done this on purpose, because it will only show up if someone connects a keyboard in controller mode. And enables midi control . They want you to use their new keyboard. That’s the cynic in me 😉
D. Looper don’t work in background no more , and along with audio tracks will not record if the unit is recieving midi clock.
E. You cannot assign a sample from the sampler or looper to a pad on the first drum program, it just ignores it. You have to create a second drum program for it to work.

You can. Just go to SOUNDS whilst on a track in DRUM PROGRAM or KEYGROUP mode and add the required program to a free space on the grid
@@TUBEDIGGA thanks a bunch for the reply! When I follow those steps, if I try in favorites mode it says no plugin detected (this must be for the hype, etc plugins). When in sounds mode it only let's me add folders to the grid. Maybe I'm missing something?
@@tompbeatsCO So yeah, it will allow you to add the folder the .xpm resides in so just click into that and the .xpm will be there for you to load to your project. If there's multiple .xpms in the folder then they will also be within the shortcut folder.
How does it look on software
The force has note filtering on midi. So you can plug in a midi keyboard, play it and filter to scale on midi out playing whatever external synth in the correct key. Still hoping to see this in the MPC line. Pad perform is great but you have to use the pads, and until the last update, you had to have pad perform window open to use it. I dont have the mpc now (sold it and ordered one yesterday after finding out about the update...should have just kept it since they have been updating like crazy), but i wonder if you can play a midi keyboard and filter notes on the internal instruments? OR do you only get to use scales with the mpc's pads which can be a drag when your riffing and dont know how to play piano:) Best feature on the hydrasynth for non-piano players!!!
I'm spoilt with scale mode on my novation SL MK3. One tool I couldn't live without.

2.11 cool but new browser locked a few times when loading some kits that have zero issue w normal browser.
Also no preview on the new browser apparently.
does anyone know if 2.11 will support mpc rens and work on the m1 macs ?

Program change can be linked to track, sequence or program. Mpc can be made into pseudo-motif with this feature
So tell me Tubedigga. How did you paint your sides black? Did you take out the screws at the bottom of the unit like the in MPCSTUFF MPCX Wood Tilt End Cap Tutorial. Or did you do it some other way. Been wanting to this for awhile now but didnt want to take the unit apart. I did want to be the first to use tape and try that way because... well some errors can happen. Just curious dude. Thanks for the tutorials by the way. The last one your did on gain staging was good because it would be nice to know all the internal routing properly. I always likes how they used to put diagrams on old synths in that regards. Cheers
I removed the side panels (as per MPC Stuff video) and took them to a professional paint shop that specialises in bike frame spray painting/powder coating. They used car paint to cover them, mine are deep grey with a faint metallic fleck. I did it mostly because I can’t stand the way the panels felt kind of dry and rubbery.
@@TUBEDIGGA ok word, pretty professional. good job. Im not a fan of the red much and would rather almost any other colour. I seen in the video he disconnected a cable/wire and undid some screws in the inside. Maybe one day I will gain some balls and try to do it up.

Great tutorial as usual, thanks! However the saving of favourite plugin presets doesn't work exactly as you describe it - or maybe it's me. If I edit a patch and then save it to favourites it does not save my edits, it saves the default patch. I assume you need to make your edits, save your patch with a new name and then save that to favourites?
You have to save the preset first by pressing the disk (save) icon in the program editor. The favourites list doesn’t save the preset, it saves the location of it so it can be recalled.

Favourites are referencing previously saved synth plug-in presets. They are renamed within the plug-in synth program editor.

can you load projects easily now? its been a while since I used my MPC One and one of the worst things about this great device is that I cant just open older projects unless I connect to the PC. I might be missing something and if you can point me to right direction in that case that would be great my g.
How do you save your project’s? Save em as a new clip program and, it might save you a guap of time. Shooting from the hip but, hey! Yahhhnever know. Lmk if that does help. Seems too have weirdly been the case for a lot of ppl.

I still have the same problem akai told me 4 updates ago that it would be fixed 🤨. Nothing that doesn't let me use it. But in standalone on the 1st page it says "invalid serial number" wich doesn't make sense because you don't need a serial to use it standalone. All software serials work. The thing is i want to sell my mpc one and get a live 2 for portability... how do you explain to a buyer " hey it says invalid serial number on booting up but just ignore it,doesnt mean anything" and had already 5 potential buyers that said no after i tell em that, even wen i was willing to come down to half the price 🤔. I´m honest because hey,you can´t u
Ignore it.they will see it. Then they think you are ripping them off with something and so i can't sell it. Wrote 3 times to support and one response with oh we will fix it in the next update. 🤬🤬🤬 anyone that has the same problem or someone with a solution? A reset doesn´t work btw....

I think it’s just bug fixes or possibly a compatibility update for the software and Mac computers. No extra features basically.

It wors be nice if rhe bugs were fixed, the screen was way brighter cant even see it in the sunlight so portability is kind of pointless outside. Would be nice if bluetooth would work with no latency. Would also be cool if you could use 3rd party VSTs. A graphic band eq with dots to move anywhere for more versitiliry.
