Socho Kolkata itne downfall ke baad bhi India ki 3rd richest city hai. Then imagine agar communists amd tmc ne isko barbad na kiya hota. Then it would have been the top city of the world. Like it once used to be. But due to dirty politics, it got much behind, whereas Mumbai and Delhi overtook it.

Kolkata is neither good in IT (tech) nor in management, there are no big manufacturing industries like other city. Brilliant students are migrating another cities for job. While, 90% of the domestic placement from IIM come from Mumbai. While, bangalore is IT hub, mumbai is the management / financial hub. In any country, the financial capital have highest gdp, highest no of skyscrapers among the cities of that country. So, Kolkata is not comparable with mumbai
