I'm from Paris and I live 15-20 minutes on foot from the cathedral. I have tried several times to visit it since its reopening, but the reservations are being taken so quickly. However, I am happy that people can now visit it, film it, and offer us some footage of it. A big thank you to the donors from all over the world.
They did an amazing job at restoring. You really can tell that they restored it with LOVE. It's absolutely Beautiful. Miss you so much Whoopi, Love you Whoopi!! 💜💜
Hey, Whoopi. We’re in the same country! I hope you get to make it to the north of France. Beautiful region. Lille, Boulogne-sur-Mer. I teach English here, and we were just watching your “Behind The Table” episode in class last week. The students enjoyed you and learned what an EGOT is.
Thank you Whoopi for giving us one of the most beautiful first hand views of the restoration. It is a wonder to behold. The beautiful colors of the interior were under hundreds of years of dirt and soot, are now just as beautiful as the day they were painted. Perhaps the fire was a Godsend after all. Good for another Millennia.
I'm just a guy from Tennessee, USA who has never been outside the country but as a kid i learned about Notre Dame through the famous story "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and was very interested in visiting one day. In 2019 when the fires were raging through the historic cathedral i felt a very visceral grief for a place i had never laid eyes on myself except for the images I'd seen in film, television, or the artwork in books. I hope i get to see it one day. Thankful to the firemen who helped rescue it. 🎉
I was there but couldn't get inside because of the restoration. Would love to go inside. I hope one day you get to travel abroad it really opens your eyes
I too have been fascinated by Notre Dame! I had an opportunity of a lifetime to visit many years ago. Much younger then... climbed the 250 plus stairs to the top. I will never forget it.
It's beautiful but it looks too spanking new. When I walk into a hundred years old cathedral then I want it to look like it has been around for hundred of years. I think I'll wait until 2825 to visit Notre Dame.
@@3l3llala13 I agree. Fortunately and thankfully it was not completely destroyed but too much looks completely brand new and not restored and original over 800 years old. I feel very fortunate and appreciative of spending many hours inside before the fire.
@313llala13: It's 862 years old, not one hundred: The construction of the cathedral began in 1163, under Bishop Maurice de Sully, and was largely completed by 1260, though modified in succeeding centuries.

I hope you get to see it soon. Although, it's pretty cool that you can basically pop over there during a lunch break and check it out.
If only you were a privileged celebrity.

Beautiful THANK YOU! It has been 30 plus years for me too. NORTE DAME is SO MUCH BRIGHTER...
Notre Dame is pretty but I've never seen anything as incredible as St. Peter's Basilica.
She is over there filming sister act 3.

Super nice.
I wish I could see this before I die
Meh. Don’t see the hype of it.
At 862-years-old,
it's a fine example of
French-Gothic architecture,
for one.
