CoverSolutions For me, it starts on A minor with the G# being either a borrowed chord from C minor (bVI) or the augmented fifth of C major. All the other chords on this section are in A minor (using aeolian harmony though). Then it modulates to C minor and they use the C# as both a chromatic descending line coming from Dm7 as well as a tritone sub of Cm (even though it goes to Fm7 right after instead). But on a second thought I'd consider it a bVII from Eb major since it modulates to Cm (its relative minor). Once it modulates, they use the same logic to the new key, borrowing the Ebm7 (or F#) from well, Eb minor. All of the rest is in this new key with the exception of B and Bbm11 which are a borrowed (bVII - v) from Eb minor. Then, it finally modulates to Eb minor and towards the end they keep switching from C minor to Eb minor by playing a (iv - v) of both keys and ending in A minor with the Dm7 - Dm6 cadence. It's cool to notice they chose sequences of minor thirds to modulate and borrow chords from: Am - Cm - Ebm. That really gives a melancholic almost poignant atmosphere to it.
Congrats, hope to see myself there at some point. How long have you been playing bass, if I may ask? I'm a newbie and just goofin around with the more easily beginning of the song
nice. this is definitely one of those songs that seems really flashy, but doesn't really require any kind of advanced techniques. Definitely just a mastery of basics, which is all the more impressive. Songs like this are good to practice regularly because even when you can play it all the way through, you can always always always refine your basics to make it smoother, develop techniques that make it more comfortable or fluid, or even use the chance to practice techniques that actually clash with the flow of the song, in order to develop your versatility and add an extra level of difficulty or focus. Because the song only requires basics, as long as you have those down, you can play the song with any technique of your choosing and really not lose anything that makes this bassline special. so definitely congrats, keep up the good work and keep practicing!
This song is THE PERFECT balance of active playing, holding the low end and being the glue. A lot of time I tend to forget that I need to hold my boys together and wanna do slapping, tapping and all this stuff and have crazy lead bass solos, but this song's bass lets you let loose and hold back at the same time. kinda crazy
Hey C.S. I know you probably won't care, but I just wanted to say thank you for keeping things like you are. You're a really cool dude and seem to have good musical knowledge. You are such a badass and I wish you the best of luck in any stressful events that may occur. This channel cannot be easy to run. Having people ask constantly for tunes must be so stressful at times. I would never know how hard you have it because I am just a viewer. You are the reason I keep playing bass. I'm pretty sure I've played bass since you started. It's hard for me to tell, but just know you are the actual reason I've gotten so good and if there was any way I could help, I would love to. You are an inspiration to not only me, but to some other bass players who have learned just like me. Keep doing what you're doing and I wish the best of luck to anything stressful that might occur.
Spaghetti N' Meatballs I've always loved the bass guitar, but because of CoverSolutions, I've actually got off my lazy ass and bought a bass and can now play most if not all the songs that he uploads p.s. I think the fact I did classical guitar beforehand might have helped but who cares!
felippe mileke yeah, I have rhcp sheet music, and even in the sheet music, on a lot of songs it's says "similie on repeat" meaning it's not exactly played the same way each verse, or whichever part it's applies to. That's just an example, of course it's not just flea that does it.
plutin I don't know anything about this group I have never heard this song. But the structure of it wouldn't be hard to tab by ear, it follows chord patterns and uses chromatic walks into a lot of them.
I just wanna make a huge thank you, all these tabs have made it easy to pick it up as a great tool for clearing the chatter, and the difficulty of some of these songs has turned it into a great way to retrain the brain to live in the moment!
This is an absolutely beautiful song with an equally beautiful bassline. And you play it amazingly. As for myself? I'm working on it. But the hardest part is holding back the tears every time I hear Charlotte Day Wilson's heartfelt vocal performance.
Don't blow me off so I can't help it When you shy off I can't help it And I know you know it's wrong but I'm ready So just rid yourself of him and come get it Got you enticed from the middle You know I'm willing and able And I know you know it's on when you're ready So just rid yourself of him and come get it Oooh, I see it in your eyes, in your eyes every time (In your eyes) Oooh, I see it in your eyes every time I know there's something about me That you can't wait to just tell me And I love the way you move, it's so bashful So just take my hand cause baby it's natural And I got you enticed from the middle And I know you're willing and able And I know you've got someone but I'm ready So just rid yourself of him and come get it Oooh, I see it in your eyes, in your eyes every time (In your eyes) Oooh, I see it in your eyes, in your eyes every time And I'll show you oh when it's right Then I guess we can say we tried Don't let this fall by the side Cause I can't, can't leave And I can't, can't wait Cause I can't, can't leave And I can't, can't wait Cause I see it in your eyes And I feel it every time Cause I see it in your eyes
thanks to ollie and coversolutions for making this happen. i've always wanted a badbadnotgood bass cover done by this channel, and it's finally been made!!! thank you!
@@xbjrrtc The end part is pretty difficult. Once I learned how to keep all my fingers close to the fretboard at all times, it became quite a bit easier. I started playing it at 0.5 speed then at .75 speed before playing it at normal.
Hey dude, could you do the Basement version of Radiohead's "Where I End and You Begin?" I'd love to see your take on Colin's subtle variations throughout!
man u r making so beautiful job for lot of ppl. im glad there are human beings like you what gives so much time and energy to others. if u will have some free time check michael jackson - you cant win . such a great bass line
Great job! Chester Hansen is a brilliant bassist, maybe one of the best nowadays. Would you please upload the tabs again? I tried to download them but they were removed due to copyright bullshit. Thanks dude!
Man I learned the first 45sec of this song but then it gets really tough!! He adds in soo many filler notes in between and changes it up throughout. Super good but just need a lot of practice and speed.
Sería de gran ayuda, que en un futuro lejano o cercano puedas tocar una canción que no logro sacar en bajo, tengo poca oreja y no hay tabs en lo absoluto. Hablo de RX Bandits - Will You be tomorrow. Saludos y no esta demás, decir que es un gran trabajo el que haces.

I've played this song dozens of times without commenting. It's definitely an underrated bass line and thank you for playing a badbadnotgood song!

A good bassline can hit your soul just like that

Hats off to anyone who can sight-read and play this. It's not your normal three-chord trick!
Yeah, I got about halfway through and damn it got hard quick
Didn't expect to see a BBNG song on here, looks like I got a new project
Don't blow me off so I can't help it
When you shy off I can't help it
And I know you know it's wrong but I'm ready
So just rid yourself of him and come get it
Got you enticed from the middle
You know I'm willing and able
And I know you know it's on when you're ready
So just rid yourself of him and come get it
Oooh, I see it in your eyes, in your eyes every time
(In your eyes)
Oooh, I see it in your eyes every time
I know there's something about me
That you can't wait to just tell me
And I love the way you move, it's so bashful
So just take my hand cause baby it's natural
And I got you enticed from the middle
And I know you're willing and able
And I know you've got someone but I'm ready
So just rid yourself of him and come get it
Oooh, I see it in your eyes, in your eyes every time
(In your eyes)
Oooh, I see it in your eyes, in your eyes every time
And I'll show you oh when it's right
Then I guess we can say we tried
Don't let this fall by the side
Cause I can't, can't leave
And I can't, can't wait
Cause I can't, can't leave
And I can't, can't wait
Cause I see it in your eyes
And I feel it every time
Cause I see it in your eyes

Took me several months, but I finally nailed it!
Just started my journey yesterday with this song! I got the intro pretty solid, but the rest of the song is so intimidating.
