I often play stuff over my level but taking it part by part at your own pace or at more comfortable tempos help further you along. I feel like it also helps you grow into a better player the more you play complex or just overall really good songs imo

Along the regular practice routines (Scales, various other techniques and general knowledge) playing complex music will also help give you a solid idea of how to arrange something you might want to do originally or you may find shapes and patterns you love from the music you play that you can rework and mess around with. It spices up the journey for sure!

Thank you!! Another way I do it from time to time is by putting the action high and plucking close to the neck, or putting flat wound strings on a bass (also with high action). The solution with the towel and stuff is a bit more handy cause changing the whole setup of your bass can be a bit much to just get a single tone :) Glad you enjoyed! Hi, I really enjoyed the cover you did, great playing. I checked out the score, do you think that the bar lines should be moved two beats ahead? I feel that that the lead up from the F# to the A should be on beats 3 and 4 not 1 and 2? Makes more sense when we get to the change t the C as well. Good job though!!

Hey! I think measure 29 of your tabs needs to start with two eighth notes instead of two 16th notes :)
Hey! thanks for your comment! Unless I am reading the wrong bar it should be two 16th notes, but with an eight note rest in between (not all form of tab support this so it isn't there). So the notes fall on 1 and 1a (ONE e and A TWO). Hope that makes sense! Finally have videos coming up again so stick around if you feel like it, thanks again :)

How do you get that muted low-sustain sound?
I see something green near down the bridge. It is because of this thing?
Yep! It's a dust rag (clean one, obviously) put it in between the the strings and the body close to the bridge and mess around with just how much cloth you need to stuff in there to get the tone muted the way you want (that is why you see a lot of it hanging over and not actually being under the strings). Another option that is a bit more elegant is getting a foam mute like for example Jamerson used, but while easier to use and looking better it doesn't have the same range in terms of being able to completely mute everything and having a much lighter mute depending on how much cloth you stuff under the strings.

what do the two dots above the tab mean?
staccato, meaning the note duration is shortened. So you pluck it and then pretty much immediately mute/deaden the sound, giving a very short burst of a note.
