Mr. Anthony, I want to thank you for your professional and honest reviews. I was recently able to purchase the Seiko Orange monster SRP 309J1. I bought it based on your review. I love it. I am an old guy and had many watches. The Monster is the best watch I own for the price. Again Thank you.
Anthony, another great review. I am like many others in that I just can't justify the price yet. I am happy that you are enjoying yours! It's been a rough couple of days, and you review is just what I needed to see. As always, keep up your great work. Mark
Thanks Mark, I'm sorry to hear that it has been rough for you lately. My life has been pretty stressful of late as well so I'm glad that you enjoyed my videos. Thank makes it worth it for me.
Great and well researched review! Not usually a fan of Panerai, but your love for the watch is beginning to convert me. Great job!
Thanks Josh, I really appreciate that!
Beautiful watch. And as always great review. You have an amazing collection right now. Cheers
Thank you for review. Absolutely pure and calm.
Love the Panerai look. Will definitely have one at some point. Great review👍
Had my 423 for a couple of months now, can't believe how a brand I didn't 'get' for many years is now my favourite. Yes the ETA stuff is overpriced but the inhouse stuff is up there with the best, my 2012 p. 3002 movement has been running -2 secs consistently for the last 2 months. Love it.
This has been long overdue. Picked up the 287 few months after I saw your review. Found the watch locally and bingo! Your right about the 7750. I have a few pieces that has the same workhorse and taking the cost of maintaining it was definitely a big consideration. Love this watch and love this review. Hope you still have yours.
Congrats on the purchase. reminds me of my Panerai journey. I agree with going with the OPIII movement, I did the same after reading about how long it takes to service the movements by Panerai. Beautiful watch! If your curious of what the moment looks like I've posted a slow motion video of it working. Cheers
Great review! Thanks for posting :) I love the watch too!
Favorite watch ever owned?!?!? Congrats! I own a PAM 183, which is a Radiomir with a modified manual wind Unitas, sandwich dial, display case back and seconds sub dial. While my tastes in watches have migrated to smaller cases, I don't see myself parting with the PAM.
Have loved Panerai for years and finally just bought one. My PAM 025 Submersible hasn't left my wrist for the last two months. I totally understand where you're coming from!
Since it launched it has been one of my favourite watches along with the1992 Breitling Aerospace and the understated Garrad automatic gold dress watches of the 1960s. The Panerai, as the aforementioned all remain distinctive and timeless.
I always wondered what the appeal was of Panerai. I think I have a clearer understanding now. Also ETA makes so much sense from a service point of view. Keep up the infotainment. 12,000 for the win.
Nice review. I’m thinking of purchasing one and this helped my decision.
Love the case shape and those Wire-like early century lugs... and that onion crown/winder!.. beautiful watch buddy.. I'll be glad to hear you enjoy it!
Thanks Steve, I really appreciate that.
Absolutely great review and very glad to hear you're enjoying the watch! Price is so irrelevant when you love a watch, my grail of the Yachtmaster 116622 retails over £8,500+ and that is crazy price for a 3 hand watch with a date in steel lol... But I love it
Yeah, I love that Yachtmaster as well James!
Thank you for sharing this, good job.
Great review! I'm looking at getting a Panerai as well in the future, but I'm having trouble justifying the price tag. However, I feel that if I buy something else, I'm still going to want a Panerai down the road, so I should probably just bite the bullet and pick one up
Man, you are making me regret not buying a Radiomir when I had a chance. I love the way they fit but I can't shake the image of Stallone wearing one. Well, I guess he wore Rolex, too. Anyway, good looking time keeper! Keep surprising yourself with watches you didn't think you'd like. I find it very interesting.

It took me 14 years of watch collecting to come around to Panerai. Never understood them until I finally took the plunge on a Luminor 773 last week. I love it, there's just something about the larger size of Panerais. My collection has exclusively been 33-40mm before, but there's something satisfying about wearing the 44mm Luminor. Like you said, they are extremely comfortable. Would I wear a 44mm Breitling, probably never. But I want to add more Panerai, that much I know.
Was wondering, since it's similar to a cushion case, does it wear like a Seiko Turtle wherein the size doesn't tell the whole story? Also, what's the thickness and lug-to-lug on it? Was hoping it would fit under-the-cuff since it looks nice worn under a dress shirt cuff.
A gorgeous watch, thanks for showing it
Hey Jay Boogie, nice video bro. I had an eye for a Pam but the movement and price point had me skittish. May take a second look at these timepieces. On thing I do love is the Italian lineage and history behind the brand. And that gives it a bit of romanticism to the piece.
Hi how are you, do you have any trouble with the date window? Something that looks like a scratch? O small spot? Mine has something weird that changes with the light... Let me know please
Great review man. To be honest, pretty much love everything about it, like the dial design, cyclops and how you change bands. But just too big for my wrists and way outta my budget. Also nice change to hear the birds in the background. I think that was a nice touch.
Oh by the way, Mass Effect Andromeda dropping real soon!!
Yes!!!! The first reviews for Andromeda are positive....I'm not going to have any free time anymore.
All good dude. I'll understand if you can't get around to shooting more reviews hahaha
How can you NOT love a radiomir ?! ❤
Really pretty and you can get it serviced for about $600 being a 7750. But boy does the price bug me because essentially you're paying for the case with a generic movement with wobble.
Yeah, I'm hoping without the chrono-module even less for a service.
They have an interesting military history. When I wear a big watch it tends to roll over on my wrist so I'm always adjusting it. I think it helps if you have a wrist as big as James Gandolfini to pull off wearing on of these babies!
Do you still have this watch? If so, do you often wear it?
Which luminour with eta based movement has this dial layout?
Beautiful watch. Panerai watches are really nice. Enjoy it.
I've found that some of the things and even some people I dislike become great, perhaps even loved when I get to experience and know them. This could well be a similar situation for you. Smitten, is the word I'd use for the way you look and speak about, this Panaeri. Even your on-screen look seems happy and a bit delighted. I'm glad for you and the way you're enjoying your Panaeri. I can also get the fun you're having with the exaggerated wobble of the pared down 7750. It's that mechanical movement on your wrist saying 'Hey, I'm here beating away.' I, too, appreciated this feel and wobble in the Valjoux 77xx series. I'm all the way with you on the cyclops, too. The up thrust bubble on Rolex and other watches is an annoyance, even if it's more practical for clearly showing the date. No, this isn't a watch I'd shell out for, but I'm happy your happy with it and you have communicated its joy. Thanks, and stay well.
Thanks Mark, there is indeed something special about the 7750...it has character to spare.
is panerai a strong brand compared to rolex and how about the alligator leather is it more stronger than usual leather or does it need to be replaced after 2 years as leather?
I really like the look of the watch, it has a classic, but kind of unique style to it. I am kind of surprised the love you have for it though, as someone that has thrown out your dislike for companies like Tag Heuer for throwing ETA movements in their watches and charging thousands of dollars. Similar to Tag, IWC, and the ETA Breitling watches, I feel they are overpriced for using an ETA movement. The build quality does seem nice and adds some value, just not to the price point asked. Anyway, glad you're enjoying your new watch!
Thanks, indeed the price is very hard to justify.
It is a beauty! Enjoy it.
beautiful watch ! enjoy it !
Did you consider getting a left handed PAM?
Nice vid! I just got a Panerai Radiomir as a reward for passing my recent board exam. I absolutely love it! It was cool learning about its history.
It's really a beautiful watch :)
Great video, something special about a Panerai and it seems "the whole is more than just the sum of parts involved"... I've got a PAM00024 Submersible with uses an ETA7750 that Panerai takes of the chrono modules of the movement and just love the piece..
When you really fall in love with something the price becomes secondary. I know you don't do. I've done that a few times where people shook their heads about the items I bought but I was happy with them and that's what counts.
I'm still learning.
you'll manage just fine. btw. check your fb messages.
Nice review. I hated then until I wore one, mine was PAM111 Luminor, once you wear one it just has a magic to it!! Also the lume is insane!! Love the sausage dial J ;-)
Beautiful watch! I love the look of Panerai watches but they are overpriced.
Nice ! You still have it?
So we have a couple of common interests, Vette's and watches... So do you have much knowledge on the brand Junkers?? Thanx 4 the knowledgeable insight..
Junkers makes some nice watches. For the price you usually get a nice Japanese Miyota movement and some good details. I prefer Seiko watches for the same money but I do like Junkers. Junghans and Nomos are really nice as well but are more expensive in general.
Thanx... I did just buy 2 Seikos; an 80's S5 and a new S5... Sorry that i asked about another watch brand while u were reviewing the Panerai.. Keep up the good reviews, and remember, some of us do ENJOY ur 20+min reviews... U GOT MY SUB!!
Quick question from newbie. Why not share serial info? Thanks
jprutube77 So as not to give counterfeiters free, easy access to official (and true!) serial #s for their copies. Suddenly, there could exist 10,000 fakes, with duplicate papers, all using a real Panerai serial number.
Panerai - Pan as in Peter Pan, not Pon. Radiomir - Radio as in music, not Rad as in rod.
Cool video bro. Wear it in good health!
Are you still in love with this piece?
I'm not a big fan of panerai because they never look quite right on my wrist even though I admire them as objects -- kind of like the way if feel about women's shoes -- I love them but I look terrible wearing them. This one has a lot of design integrity and appeal and I particularly appreciate the innovation with the cyclops -- it looks like a water droplet or a bubble. Congratulations! A real nice one.
Thanks Neil, that is quite the metaphor. I've never understood woman's fashion so you are a step ahead of me.
Hi Anthony. It's a joke. I don't wear women's shoes although I do think they are beautiful. My understanding and appreciation for the form and function of women's shoes comes completely from my wife who has a love and knowledge of the subject that exceeds my love and knowledge about horology.
Mutual understanding of and indulgence in each other's interests has been the secret of the success of our 20-year marriage. In fact, her watch collection exceeds mine in scope, value and sophistication. If you'll indulge me, I'll make a short (and boastful) list of her collection: vintage Cartier Tank (a humble vermeil version), all steel Cartier Santos, 28mm Rolex OP two-tone Datejust (which she wears on a bespoke Jean Roussou croc strap), Bulgari B zero 1 with mother of pearl dial and diamond indices, vintage gold Omega deville, vintage diamond bezel Girard Perregaux that she inherited from her mother, a 60s Longines (from her mother), Maurice LaCroix with mother of pearl dial, a Chariol Columbus with blue guilloche dial, and a varied collection of unique Seiko ladies watches; the quirkiest of which is a watch set in a scallop shell pendant that she wears on a chain necklace. And finally, although it's technically my watch, she wears a 34mm big rose Tudor Oysterdate as her daily piece. Her current grail watch is the reissued Panthere de Cartier in yellow gold (of course with a pair of matching Panthere de Cartier earrings).
Before meeting me she wore a Seiko quartz Mickey Mouse watch (albeit with a MOP dial). Needless to say, her interest in watches was passing at best. Now she's a monster! As for her shoe collection . . . I'll just say that it's impressive. Alas, I have no women's shoes of my own -- that diversion is purely vicarious on my part.
I've gone on far too long. Cheers Anthony.
Neil Lucente I caught the joke, I was joking a bit as well. That is quite the collection. To have found someone that you still feel that connected to after 20 years is far more precious a find than any watch ever will be. You are very blessed. Your wife has great taste as well.
Thank you for the compliment!
Congrats on the purchase. I just don't get the appeal of this watch. Nothing about it sticks out as anything special, the case is just odd.
nice very nice thanks enjoy
Great watch, but those birds in the background are crazy. Do you live in the forest?
Haha, nope, I live just outside of a major city..
I like it go whit any suit
very very beautiful
You know, we all make decisions based solely on emotion that make no logical sense. Panerai sits in this space, and that's OK.
I love Panerai watches, but can't justify the cost, or not yet. I confess I gave in about a year ago & got a Parnis homage of the Pam90, essentially a copy with "Marina Militare" on the dial instead of Luminor Panerai. It had a Sea-Gull St-2555 mvt & was regulated to +4 sec.
a day. It truly was decent quality, but I felt guilty having a "fake", so I gave it to my cousin.
TheGoodwolfe should take the fake out back and put it out of its misery lol
Nah, it may be too close to the original for me to be comfortable with keeping, but it's definitely a nice piece for the price point, and has a good home now with someone who doesn't care about expensive watches or whether it's a name brand. He just liked it and that's cool.
For me it's still love/hate. I'd buy one for the wife and end up wearing it on occasion..I just know I would..
That is just a 500 hundred dollar watch with a flamboyant name .
Panerai has a really fascinating history, I do like their case designs but my wrist is small so I'm afraid it probably wouldn't suit me. I would however buy a vintage one if they weren't so astronomically high priced
learn at list to prononce ...
Today, you are a man!
Now u like panerai???? somethings wrong here!
I'd have to have it with a display back. That's E-T-A, not Etta!
Beautiful watch no so beautiful review the guy listens to himself talking two much.
Hate it.Too big, ugly, terrible overpriced movement.
Peter Gahan. I thought that, but on the wrist, the lug to lug size is actually quite reasonable. Expensive? Well luxury brands are all about fit and finishing. Okay the functionality will be no different to a Seiko SKX, but the difference between GM and BMW is the same, fit and finish plus paying for the badge, but free choice.
I was thinking expensive for the movement. As for size, I'm selling all watches over 40mm.
I always wondered what the appeal was of Panerai. I think I have a clearer understanding now. Also ETA makes so much sense from a service point of view. Keep up the infotainment. 12,000 for the win.
