Love your videos an your cog hill farm shirt with miss peaches the boss lady Brooke an jason r a great farm page love them guys an I will try this jelly it looks so good
I just came across your channel. I enjoyed watching this video very much! I saw in your comments that you said your husband loves this stuff more than apple jelly. I find it hard to believe there is anything better than good apple jelly, but now you have gotten me excited to try this! Thank you for your simple instructions and for sharing your recipe. ~Sharon from Florida
I’ll be doing this in the morning. I processed 200 ears today. Some of the cobs get used as treats for chickens & rabbit. Some are used when planting tomatoes to hold moisture, some for compost & some for jelly. I’m not sure why your channel popped up on mine but I’m enjoying your channel.
Your comment sound so familiar 😆 I almost typed the same set up 😁💛🌽 I'm making this recipe tomorrow after I process my corn today and treat the farm critters with some cobs as well 😅
My mom made this when I was a child and I loved it I’ve been thinking of her lately and looked it up this is how I remember her making it makes me so happy. I will be doing this soon
It can be from either I use uncooked or blanched due to me taking corn off cob and canning it. I would say that cooked wouldn't be as bold of a flavor...and there are no silly questions when you are learning new things..enjoy ❤
❤NICE...If you're gonna go to the trouble of making your own food folks, please dont use yellow food dye. Many other countries dont allow that IN ANY of their food. The jelly is awesome without anything artificial ❤ Bless ya for sharing.
Sorry I am late this looks awesome. I will absolutely be trying this. Do you have any idea where I can get a clear bottom canning funnel like you have? Brand name perhaps? Awesome video!
Sounds good, but gonna do some more research on whether this is a low acid food, which isn't good for water bathing. Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate the recipe and freezing the cobs to process on a "slow" day is brilliant.
Update-just checked the National Center for Home Food Preservation and looks like this is a high acid food, so going to follow their recipe, but use your technique. Thanks so much for doing your video and inspiring others.
Are there any risks to the flavor with over-boiling? Not boiling it dry, just to reduce the liquid if - for instance - an unnamed novice canner added WAY too much water? Asking for a friend
Once I was able to skip over the one hour long intro and get to the recipe, the recipe was good. But the intro is way too long and I had to skip it. I just became a subscriber. I enjoy your videos. I'm from south jersey and appreciate the old ways. Do you have any playlists created with your posted videos on them with a theme such as all canning videos and such? I would like to put in a Playlist and just watch them all.
I'm going to try this. Loved your video. Very easy to follow. Thanks for the recipe in the more section.
My cousin is sending me some corn cob jelly. I've never had it, so I did a search and found your video! Thanks!

Thank you! We are harvesting our Fall crop of corn now. I can't wait to try this!
I know this is probably a silly question, is the corn cobs from cooked corn or uncooked corn.
It can be from either I use uncooked or blanched due to me taking corn off cob and canning it. I would say that cooked wouldn't be as bold of a flavor...and there are no silly questions when you are learning new things..enjoy ❤
Uncooked is what I did
Either way I think.

I just made this. Thanks.
Is it good?

@@MakedoacresHomestead Thank you kindly!

@@IowaKim thanks for doing the leg work!
:) thank you.
❤
Thank you!
Should I save the water I cook my whole corn in before I take the noblest off the cob also?
You can
Thank you!!!!
I love your shirt

Asking for a friend
Does that jelly set up or does it stay watery
Sets up
@Forgotten Ways Homestead I'm at 1785 ft how long do you think I should process the jars? Thanks for sharing ☺️
@ Limited Axcess it's all the same time only matters on pressure canning which would be 15 pounds of pressure but not with water bath jellies
How long does this take to set up? I made mine a week sgo and its still not set
24 to 48 hrs
Made some today and my second batch I think that I didn’t add enough pectin because it’s still runny. Can I redo and just add more pectin?
Yes you can ....happy canning 😘
@@MakedoacresHomestead thank you 😊
I believe if it's runny you can turn that into a corn syrup.
Any serving suggestions?
Eat it on toast or bisquits anything you use jelly on 🥰
I just found your channel. New subbie. But where did you go.? Last video was 11 months ago
I'm gearing back up. Thanks for subscribing
Could you substitute half the water with pineapple juice
Never tried that but if you do it it will change the flavor let me know how it turns out
What size is the box of pectin...first time watching you...
1.75 oz box welcome glad your here ❤
Looks good what does it taste like ?corn jelly
Some say it taste like honey but not a corn flavor just unique flavor hubby cant get enough of it prefers it over apple jelly
@@MakedoacresHomestead gonna have to try this. We eat corn on the Cobb all the time. It sounds really good.
I made this last year and it's just like water, how could I fix it?
Recook it 2 minutes

What size jar did you use?
The jelly size ....half pint I think
If my jelly didn't set can I redo it? Or do I have to toss it out?
Just redo it
@@MakedoacresHomestead do I add more pectin or anything? Or do I just bring it back to boil for 1 min?
@@abethcook pectin if you have that way it's a guarantee it sets if not just cook for 1 minute
@@MakedoacresHomestead Yea! I have it. So just bring it or boil and add another packet? Thank you!!! Hopefully it turns out lol I made two batches 😅
1000th view yay 😀
Thank you very much 🥳
@@MakedoacresHomestead l have never had this but will be trying it.
What does it taste like?
Some say honey but it's a very mild awsome flavor hubby prefer over apple jelly
@@MakedoacresHomestead Do you put it on biscuits? Or what do you put it on? I’m so intrigued
Yes just like any other jelly it's close to apple jelly I think
Hi are those young corn or can be used old dry also thank you for recipe
It's fresh corn not dry corn
thank you very much you are a Doll@@MakedoacresHomestead
Let’s use a half pound of sugar but can’t forget to use that sugar free pectin 😂
Low sugar pectin 😉
