My beautiful baby boy passed away two weeks ago he was diagnosed with high blood pressure, kidney disease n thyroid issues. He was on a special diet n he was doing really well n then all of a sudden he stop eating but drinking a lot of water, he withdrew from us so we took him to the hospital n in the span of two days he died while still being on a lot of ivs but his potassium levels kept going high n he left n empty hole in our hearts. He was eighteen years old,his name is Jackie 111. In our life he will be tremendously missed.we might get another baby but he will never be replaced,he was special.

My cat was ill with diarrhoea on and off for two weeks (he's always had a sensitive tummy) and I was treating him with Pro-Kolin. He went from playful, hungry, and drinking normally, to lethargic, with no appetite, and dehydrated, in less than 24 hours. He's now on IV fluids for the past three days and all the signs indicate CKD and kidney failure.
    I failed him.

The meat industry points at the Inuit (Eskimo) and how they "thrived" on a 95% protein diet, but they do not mention how they died of kidney failure about age 45. ( need reference here) Cats need a slightly less protein diet, maybe vegetable proteins? Fibre?

Vegetable protein is even harder on kidneys, & a big part of the problem for cats, as commercial cat foods are full of it, because it's cheap, despite cats being obligate carnivores. Part of the big ongoing (& failing, healthwise) animal experiment on cats, driven by $.

Our cat is 19 years old. He quit eating and drinks a lot of water (he doesn’t move and I give him a dish of fresh water every hour or less). He does not go to the bathroom.

    I thought garlic was poisonous?

    • @MorrisAnimalFoundation

There is evidence that feeding large quantities of garlic for long periods of time can cause problems in cats. Some pet owners have fed their cats big doses of garlic for homeopathic reasons, and we would caution against doing so.
