    Microstream plus 10440 3v lithium, plus built in charging from a usb literally everywhere phone charger, plus a new 250 lumen high mode after the original 45lm mode.... equals PERFECTION OF AWESOME UTILITY AND BADASSERY!!!!!

    I had the small Streamlight and lost it -- just too small. Now I use the pen size Streamlight Pro and am happy with that.

    I also have and love the microstream. It has similar wear on it, looks like it's been used and abused. Such a good light. Looks tacticool, is functional, budget friendly, small with deep pocket clip, and takes only 1xaaa.
    I also have a protac 1xaaa, very techy and is brighter but doesnt carry as well as the microstream. Protac is now a benchwarmer.

    Love it. I have the usb rechargeable version. Awesome pocket light. Anything with bigger diameter is too big in the pocket to me.

    recommend the Fenix E12 for a non keychain light, similar size to your review, , AA battery, 3 useful settings of 8, 50, 130. recessed tap button, tail stand (to me a desired feature).
    price around $27.

      I use a 14500 battery for Fenix E12. This things puts out at least 300 lumens. Super bright!

      Anker LC40 is only $13 and puts out 400 lumens, very highly rated. Puts the Fenix to shame, lol.

      neil yes there are less expensive and brighter lights but recommend for average guy....
      small pocket carry...
      readily available to purchase at retail store (Fenix E12 is at several stores in our area (who carry the Anker at retail environment.
      single common battery that can be purchased everywhere... triple AAA more expensive than single AA, the 18650 not available at local gas station, retail store.
      Walmart has Bushnell lights that would qualify for above.
      again average guy not a flashlight guy, easy local purchase of both light and single battery, your option would be???

    • @neil78b
      @neil78b 7 років тому +1

      Yogi Lilly Unless the guy is a complete idiot, the Anker is the choice... not many people exist that don't know how to use the internet in this age to buy things.

    The olight s1r, it's even smaller than the streamlight, has 7 modes (including moonlight, strobe and 2 turbos) the pocket clip is light up so you can attatch it to a hat. The max output is 900 lumens. only downside, it's expensive.. but worth it.

    • @tfjvk_9349
      @tfjvk_9349 8 років тому +2

      btw, it's also rechargable, with an amazing charger. The rcr123r is included. oh and the throw is 142 meters.

      Yes the sr1 is 1000x better than this 28 lumen clunker. The streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA is much better as well.

    Love my microstream as well. I was a big fan of my Led Lenser P5.2 (brighter version of the P5), which I carried in a homemade pancake pvc sheath, which worked really well, but I lost it 2 weeks ago. Really sucks, but that means I'm only carrying the microstream now.

  • @jacobmanalang8162
    @jacobmanalang8162 7 років тому +2

    for a non flashlight person the thrunite t01 is keychain king to me. twist head operation though. olight i3e if they want colors. the ti3 isnt bad if they want multi modes.
    the microstream is a great choice.
    the thrunite ti5 actually doesnt suck as hard as i thought it would since they put a reverse clicky switch on it. the pocket clip sucks though so you might need to bend it to get tighter retention.
    nice choice on the elzetta bravo. im running one on my ar as well.
    i run a 10440 li ion 3.7v rechargeable in my microstream so its closer to 300 lumens but i cant use it for long periods as it gets hot super fast and i dont want to burn it out. its cool though!
    the thrunite t10 or t10t isnt bad if they want a single aa light. output isnt stellar at 130 lumens.
    i really like pen lights so id say the stylus pro is a decent choice as well. not sure if you could talk people into spending the money on a foursevens preon so the microstream and stylus pro are great starters

    Look at a Lumintop Tool. It is very similar in size and function as the micro stream. Cost about the same too. Also has higher lumens with three intensity settings, the middle of which is almost identical to the micro stream . The durability of the Lumintop has so far been outstanding. The micro stream is always a great choice, though. Take care.

    Hi, i got an similar flashlight, i got it from turkey for €5 and it was a cheap led with an aaa battery. But the host was amazing and aluminum. And i made it watertight. Its now a 405nm laser which could be transfered to a normal flashlight in seconds, its powered by an ICR10280 3.7v battery, and has internal battery protection circuit in there. But the size is similar.

    Good vid! Flashlights have become soooo complicated these days. I get gasps of amazement when I turn my teeny tiny Olight on but if someone want to borrow it for a minute or two, I just cringe as they will never figure out how to use it. For everyone else, simple is better I agree.

      playeroflife my old coast is so old it still says coast led lenser on it. Now their separate. It's well over 10 years old probably more around 14 years or so and it still works. It's not the brightest at only 40 lumen but back then people were still using big halogen lights like the maglights.

    I like your pocket light I want a super bright light for self defense. I want a light that powers up full blast and I want it for the purpose of somebody looking at my hand to see what I have in it and they get blinded by the light preventing them the opportunity to acquire a target. If it has an hour run time I am fine with that I need it to work when I test it each day and that way I can have a weekly charge schedule.

    Came across a contender ... 130 lumens, aluminum case, AA battery, can use 14500 or rechargeable NiMH, double clip for pocket or ball cap, under $20.
    Additionally offers focus slide for narrow (spot) or wide (flood) beam, easily available purchase in store, buy today have today at both Walmart and Home Depot.
    The Coast HX5... picked up (2), pleased with their performance....
    other choice at more $$$$....
    Fenix E12 $27-$28
    Nitecore TIP $30, keychain
    MecArmy SGN3, $40 keychain

    Question for the group. Streamlight now has a model called the 88049 ProTac. It looks to be the same size, has a bit more lumens without getting into nuclear blast levels of brightness, and it's a bit cheaper (around $30 rather than $40). Does anyone have hands on time with that model to recommend it?
