Linda Resar, MD Origins and Genetics of MPNs

Dr. Linda Resar’s presentation will focus on the genetic origins of MPN. In particular, she will describe “drivers” or gene mutations that cause MPN, including when they occur, how they develop, and why they cause MPN. Dr. Resar will also discuss “MPN Influencers” or other factors that contribute to MPN development and progression. She will outline how the genes we inherit from our parents or additional gene mutations that we acquire throughout life contribute to MPN. Finally, Dr. Resar will briefly touch on environmental factors that may help or hinder MPN development.
