1:51 - The question about an Anti-Console War got me wondering if only the Prime Universe experienced the events of the Last Game Cartridge Hero and the Image Comics crossover. How exactly were the kids from another dimension controlling Sonic Prime, and regardless if the Suppression Squad experienced these events or not (did they?), how would things have unfolded for them in these two anti stories? Would some brats have discovered they could manipulate Scourge? Would good kids manipulate Scourge, causing him to wonder why he’s doing good? Would there exist anti versions of the Image Comics characters who want to wreck the antiverse (whatever that is) and stop the benevolent anti-Dr. Droid? Did the crew enjoy some good ol’ anti-Schwarma after their anti-avengers/like adventure? Mmmm, or would that be yuck?

24:19 - In the January 5th podcast, you said a lot of Sonic X is completely off the table… does this include Cosmo and Topaz?
25:50 - In SA2 and Shadow 05, we see that GUN is capable of utilizing similar tactics to Eggman in that they mass-produce war machines to overwhelm Sonic while destroying everything in their way. (i.e. The GUN Truck) However, in the recent Twitter Takeover, Eggman says he "dissolved GUN", implying they're perma-dead, which I don't like since GUN worked perfectly as the Eggman Empire's counterpart as a morally corrupt world-police that also opposed Sonic because of their "Peace Through Power" philosophy. Thus, my question for today is this: What is the official status of the Guardian Units of Nations and what is their moral alignment? (i.e. Lawful Evil, Chaotic Neutral, etc...)

The potential of the Metarex Saga of Sonic X is absolute. As somebody else stated in an other comment there are a lot of things that might came out, such as the plant-animal conflict, the cruelty of the Metarex against "animal-kinds" (just like nazis), a lot of lore between Chaos Emeralds and Planet-Eggs and a lot more.
Sonic X S3 was able to excavate deep in the feelings of the characters, like Cosmo's sadness, hate and darkness within her transformed in care and love for others (especially for Tails) gradually. If we think a bit about how much potential this can be, we might get something even better than the Metal-Virus saga, which was a huge peak: that saga explored the horror and the emptyness the characters might feel for loosing somebody they care and love. We saw that with characters like Whisper and especially Cream. Who didn't get emotional seeing Cream's void in Issue 24? Sonic IDW stated that with good writers and artists (and everyone else not mentioned) not a great but a golden work can come out, even from the Sonic's universe.
Now let's take the Metarex Saga of Sonic X, its lore and the feelings the characters might prove during a space travel in order to save the entire universe and combine it with what the Metal Virus saga showed us that IDW is capeable of. We would have deep hate and darkness, fear, care, love (not necessarly love like Tails and Cosmo, but love for friends), stress, all kind of emotions that Sonic's universe has been (almost) always able to show. Of course it would be a completely re-written story, no-one know how it could end, even though a lot of fans would like to finally see both Tails and Cosmo together (not gonna lie, myself included. Am i biased? Probably, but i have good reasons!).
In summary: SEGA deciding that Sonic X is completely off the table is by far a total misopportunity. And watch out, i'm not talking about "something Metarex-like": i'm talking about THAT Metarex Saga, revisited and rewritten as a new arc, but it's THAT.
PS: imo Cosmo fits perfectly in Sonic's crew of friends. There's everything for everyone, and there's no character who have already taken Cosmo's place in the team as a calm kind-hearted alien who genuinely likes others (someone might say we have Amy, but we all know Amy is the ragy kind, not the calm one). And come on there has been some specific references of her in Sonic Channel, there's her flowerpot also in TailsTube 5, how much do we have to wait?

You said all! And thanks for using my words, that's pleasant! You really got what I mean! All the lore of Metarex Saga deserves to be in games!
And man, me too I made the comparison with the Metal Virus arc! The stakes, the misery, the brutality and darkness and the feeling of loss are so big, that if the Metarex arc was remade with the perspective of the games, if we remove Sonic's slightly too stoic representation in Sonic X and the some chill moments, and if characters have seen the same losses that we spectators saw, and if they endure similar losses, we could have something like the Metal Virus and better because it would be the real death (not transformation into robot) and because Sonic's world isn't the only victim, all the universe is involved! Which ajouts to the value of the calamity our characters suffer! Plus, it would be an occasion to include more characters like Sage, Blaze, Silver, Babylon Rogues, seeing how they would be affected by those events, which would ajout more stake and emotion!
Just, by the way, Amy isn't really... ragy. Well, not anymore. And Sonic's universe is always able to have golden works, Metarex isn't the only proof! ^^

Although, I think Eggman Nega is kind of just a villain that exist, I think I’ve given to the right writer he could be interesting. Imagine you really lean into the idea that he is ashamed of Ivo. Not out of moral superiority, but after briefly working with him (by pretending to be an Eggman from another dimension, in rush to get close to his ancestor, without breaking the timeline, too much) he sees his ancestor as a failure. So, kind of like Scourge, he decides instead of just being an egg man copycat, he tries to differentiate himself from his ancestor.
Eggman Nega goes through a complete rebranding of himself:
He starts calling himself Neggative, gets a completely unique costume, and stripes to be better than Eggman.
Damn, you get a like for the new codename Neggative.
Sega would never approve this, but if sonic was in a silent hill situation, maybe the monster could pray off of what tiny doubt sonic may have about his choices.
Like sonic still fully believes that he’s doing the right thing, but increasingly throughout the IDW comics, he’s had to face the repercussions of his very lenient view of being a hero.
Characters like Shadow & Espio called him out directly for the metal virus incident. Sonic still is steadfast in his philosophy, as we saw in Zeti Hunt, he had a moment of reflection on some of the consequences of his choices.
Surge a living counter argument to his philosophy, since allowing villains to escape to make their own choices, led to her being captured, experimented on, and having her life stolen.
So if there’s even a whisper in the back of his mind that he might be partially responsible for any of this, silent Hill could probably pray on that and manifest itself as a dark reflection of sonic who would call him out for any transgressions he’s ever had. A physical manifestation of guilt.
Alternatively, if that’s too intense, the monster could just be a literal manifestation of some of his fears and dreads: A giant, mechanical, homicidal servant of tyranny… with water powers!

Damn, hopefully, SEGA changes their mind so you can adapt the Metarex Saga. It's very underrated. That said, if I can ask a couple of questions:
1. Considering they've had runs in Archie and IDW, I'm surprised Sonic and the TMNT haven't had a crossover. How would you write one?
2. After finding out about the old manga where Sonic was a kid named Nicky, I'm curious, what would happen if that backstory/those characters made a comeback?
Oh, I really want Metarex arc to be adapted in IDW! This arc to be canon either way! Everything deserves to be canon, the lore with Planet Eggs and Chaos Emeralds, the plants-animals conflict, the Metarex who are almost at the same level of cruelty as The End, and Cosmo with her story and connection with Metarex that are really interesting! The different people of planets are interesting too!

The way I see the Cosmo thing is, she must exist in the game timeline, if Tails has the exact same pot in his workshop in the Tails tube videos and that non canon appearance in Chronicles. Sega must believe a similar event happened in the timeline, well that's what I make of it.

It’s been a while since we had a chaos blast from shadow. Hopefully we see that again.
For the silent hill scenario sonic would probably just see it as a normal run down abandoned town. Like yea it’s creepy but for those without significant personal baggage for the most part they don’t see the horrors the town harbors. Not the worst of it anyway.
I don't know what it is, but for me, I've always seen GUN as like an organization similar to UNIT from Doctor Who
This includes both organizations' setbacks especially fairly recently. As shown in new Who episodes such as The Star Beast and The Giggle, UNIT has been shown to have finally recovered from its setbacks and seems to have become a more notable powerhouse - maybe GUN could do the same?
22:09 - Eh, I don't like that idea, because Tails growth was never about speed. It's about his ingenuity letting him keep out with more powerful characters.
My answer is {FAN IDEA, FAN IDEA} would be that Metal Sonic officially beats Sonic... and that kills him. He fried his brain chip to do it. It would be memorable, dramatic and give the title back to Sonic seconds later.

Blaze is cat-loner. Rouge was seen hanging upside down. Albatrosses are known to be super loyal. Espio is a chameleon. Charmy seemed to like flowers.
I like to think of it as race... "stereotypes" would sound bad, let's say "statistics". I'm not saying every Russian drinks a lot, I'm just saying statistically they do. So maybe according to statistics most ninja in the words are chameleons. Something like that.
I'd hate to say this to the other fan groups in the Sonic franchise, but I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels their favorite characters and elements are being left out. Me, I'll always champion for Scratch and Grounder, even if "Adventures of..." is not my favorite Sonic show (not even close). I love Rough and Tumble and I know we have Orbot and Cubot, but I still feel like Modern Eggman (or any Eggman for that matter) desperately needs a villainous duo who are just as vile and hateful towards Sonic as he is. After all, being an evil villain can feel a bit lonesome when you don't have other evil villains to interact with, right?
Gonna side with Kyle on 32:06, while the other songs are indeed tied to their eras and capture them perfectly, It Doesn't Matter (SA1) is Sonic to a T. It was made to be his theme after all. Which is why a small snippet of it was brought back for Black Knight, one of the games where many agree Sonic has his best characterization.

It Doesn't Matter doesn't work AT ALL for Sonic outside Sonic Adventure, like, it straight up doesn't. Half of the lyrics don't fit his character whatsoever, especially his modern characterization. His World not only has an absolutely iconic melody worthy of a real hero, it has around a dozen equally phenomenal official remixes, covers and compositions. And on top of that, it's lyrics perfectly describe his edginess, badassery, attitude, ethics and morals, core philosophies and selfless heroism. It's specific enough to fit Sonic and only Sonic but intentionally vague enough for Sonic universally, whether you're playing the theme over reading Fleetway, Archie or IDW, thinking/playing Classic Era games, Adventure Era games, Meta Era games, replacing the movies' soundtracks with it, placing it over Prime clips, His World simply always works for the character of Sonic. And reasonably so, it was literally crafted to be his main theme, the definitive theme of the character. It's literally called "His World - Theme of Sonic" after all.

Do you think Cubot would find Sage to be to gloomy? Would Orbot give Sage sassy remarks like he does with Eggman? Is Metal jealous of Sage because she's more alive and more beloved to Eggman than him? Sage said she sees Orbot and Cubot as her brothers so what does she think of Eggmans constant abuse with Orbot and Cubot? Does she feel bad for them ore think of them as the least favorite, so it doesn't matter.

Dark Sonic already doesn't make sense with Sonic's personality, so even less chances.
I would like to apologize as I once left a long comment on a previous BBK about how Nega could be retooled to work with Sonic now and why I wanted this. But now I feel like every BBK people ask a question about Nega and it feels like it’s starting to get annoying to both Ian and Kyle so I would like to apologize for my part in that annoyance. Especially since you have fully explained your personal dislike for the character, and honestly you kind of made me come around on your perspective. There really isn’t anything to him except the possible potential of the character. Maybe I just liked him because of the possible story telling you could do with him, not really anything about his character as he’s been written. Anyway this comment is also starting to get long, so to finish have a good day Ian and Kyle, as well as anyone who sees this comment.
