Here's the missing piece to the puzzle - a video showing only Thomas Lang's parts of the song 'Triggered'! 🥳
This video is actually the first video I've ever edited in my life, so if it's a little bit rough around the edges, that will be why 😂 Anyway, this was Thomas' 7th take of the song, enjoy! 😎👊🏻
All production credits are listed in the description of the main 'Triggered' video, the only difference is I edited this video WHEEEYYYYY - Розваги
I love the fact the Chris wrote parts to allow Thomas's playing to shine just a bit more than his. Incredibly selfless and shows he's a great collaborator who's not afraid of allowing another team member get some spotlight.
I actually noticed this as well. Pretty amazing stuff
it’s a collaboration, not a competition
@@koc0090 Yeah, we understand this
Did he tho? They're both fucked, I've been playing my whole life and off the top of my head it's all equally as fucked..
Not to say that thomas isn't the better drummer because I believe he is but still
@@drumboarder1 yeah, if you watch Chris's part you can tell he's much more chill than on something like 40 Roll. Still God-level though.
00:19 “my stack only works on this side”
Jajajajajajajaja
Ahahaaa 😂
He was rotating it clockwise to tighten it. A lot of stacks become looser than we want them to sound so this clockwise rotation can be seen a lot when drummers want to get the stack back to the sweet spot of wing it tension that it was previously in but temporarily left due to playing on it😅
Wingnut tension* fucking autocorrect😂
@@joshlucasdrums9826 yea makes sense haha. I was just screwing around. Pun intended
1:49 that slow bass drum roll modulating to 32nd notes is realllllly cool
Sounds like quintuplets over 4/4 or something back into math that adds up
That's the part I was waiting to see. Insanely cool.
@@SigurdFlaatten agree
@@SigurdFlaatten quintuplets, yup
@@SigurdFlaatten yeah - his timing there was insane!
The best drummer of the World
"That was owkey"
😂😂😂
"take... 7 I guess"
For being 54 years old he still has some really good skills
@@jefflockhart1486 he's fuckin ripped for 54
That quintuplet part of his is so badass
0:48 is so damn heavy lmao
Both of these parts are amazing! Imagine if they combined them both and played them at the same time, that would be awesome!
That can never be done! ^^
Never be entirely happy with that
Bro I’m waiting for the “it was late! *crash*” 😂
I think he said "SLATE!" and hits the crash as a movie slate xD
He actually said "Slate" That's why he also calls out loud the take.
I thought he said late because he mutes the crash a little late at the very end
The parts look and sound even more difficult when heard solo like this, they are just so unnatural and (I bet) very different from how many drummers are used to play or write.
Yeah they’re pretty unique parts when separated! Glad you dig :)
Well even Thomas said, it was pretty difficult for him to learn that middle part :D So yea
@@JoeyThePhantom the Surgical Section®
Dude trying to start quick double kicks at random intervals is absolute aids.. they're freaks
Mr. Lang is an absolute monster behind the kit. So precise, powerful, creative and versatile!! Love seeing him get down on this style of track.
His technique and execution is flawless.
Holy shit...this makes me appreciate the technicality of that one section even more where it's not straight alternation but rather on those 9(I think?) stroke rolls how much you guys switched off...Thomas Lang is such a beast. I still can't get over those last two mods he throws in at the end too.
Thomas Lang has a lot of technique going on here and looks to be a lot of suppression of his abilities. Very talented drummer. Awesome to see him collaborate with you. Hope to see more..
Nice to see that "sir" Chris can get you over to teh "dark" side and do some insanely nice chops... you and chris are phenominal drummers !!!!!!
Holy mother of mercy! He even throws in a little "air" guitar at 1:33
Whether it's separate or together, watching you two create this funky magic never gets old. Thanks for the inspiration sir!
You can really hear the control between Chris and Thomas in the solo takes. I couldn't imagine as a bass player only hitting half the notes in a duo with someone like this.
It really clicks how in sync both performers have to play in order for every part to align itself to the entirety of the track which just makes this music video that much sweeter. I don’t know how much editing went into the full video, but this just adds even more icing to the cake of how brilliant of a masterpiece the full music video is.
Awesome to see Lang playing to some metal. The guy is an alien on the drums
Incredible how the separate drum parts on their own show just how much thought went into this
All parts are difficult but man this one is insane.
Drumming and track is spot on!!!
Love that you uploaded both parts separately. Didn't realize how much of it was actually intertwined and timed incredibly well by you guys; even bigger props!
I think km gonna go check myself into urgent care now.. ☠ That was insane!
I love the little adjustment at 0:18 ish before he dives in🤘 also that sweep across the 2 accent cymbals 0:11 .. dirty
Thanks for posting this Chris!
Absolutely insane. Great to see the parts separate so I can fully hear them and latch onto them in the original mix
Haha, the fluid robot right arm between 00:36-00:37, crash => hihat => ghost note => china => crash. I played that section over and over again. Looks like he's fighting ninjas.
You know when your playing as a drummer, and you just want to see what something sounds like with only the left stick so you pick the right up and air play but let the left hit the head. This is immediately what jumped in my head listening to this. Great work Chris. Thanks for sharing the parts only for both of you two. :)
This has some straight Killtrox vibes and I love it!
Can't get enough of these videos. Just incredible
Both you guys give me chills , please give me More!
The end is so cool!!
Thomas Lang is such a fucking beast. Holy shit.
I like how you released them in the time you did. I've replayed this whole song a million times and am still lost, but I can kinda hear your parts in between what he plays. Just astonishing. The mastery is next level. Kudos.
Sick
ridiculous how good you guys are!
Thomas Lang is here to kick some ass, he's already kicked mine, the "Hi-Hat Master" with a surgical kick-drum, Thomas if you see this message, continue to ROCK ON !!! Love ya dude !!! 🤘🤜🤛
Please feature another song with Thomas Lang in Chris. You both work off each other so well
Damn, this is so sick. Love watching both parts then together again. Such a great concept for a song. Well done guys 🤘
Man u are two brilliant drummers!!!!!!
Insane how you guys orchestrated the 2 complex parts into the whole piece that it turned out to be. Mad props! 👏👏👏
Been waiting for this...thomas is such a beast 😎🤘 you guys killed it here with the precision and technic 🔥❤👏👍😊 props to both of you(chris and thomas)
Dude its insane what u've done with Thomas... Incredible awesome track.... Gush
I love how Thomas is also so into the song. I think these only parts are even more impressive than the original video. Both only videos shows the complexity of the song so well.
Awesome as always ✌🏼
1:34 thomas casually air guitaring
On his stick 😂
That ending tho!!!.. thanks for this and the alternate angles..
A lot of max stax stuff related there! Loved it!
Really thrilled you got so many hyped up over drum beats. Smashn
Love the way the speed of the kick builds up between 1:50 and 1:53
Awesome 🤩🤩🤩🤩
just awesome stuff....he's one of the best drummers around now.....
insane!!!
You are a monster man🤟🏻🤟🏻
these solo drum takes are insane in their own rights lol just as confusing and complex but holy crap thrown together they are a masterpiece.
This song made me a Thomas Lang fan
The duck lips at 1:14 get me LOL but great to see this individual performance! I was wondering how they did the combined double bass parts. Very cool!
You're so good Sir Chris... 😊🥁🇵🇭
You sir are a bad ass and a inspiration
Absolutely insane
Always seizes to surprise
Awesomeee lml
Gahhhhhhh!!!! Thomas play some more of this type of music pleaseeeeee!!! I would totally buy an album!!
So tight
This song is so amazing and complex...Drummer Gods.
Thank you so much I appreciate
YES
Alright man, you got my attention. Clearly your number of subscribers does not equal your talent, but that often is the case.
Still, your ability to create songs that are equal to your drumming ability... you got IT. Congrats, and good luck to your bright future.
Dude come on this is so brutal
i love you seriously
Unreal
1:55 oh my word
I am entirely happy with this
kind of torturing. Crazy man!
Beast
HOLY COW
Incredible, you guys are the shit 🔥🔥🔥
I bet back in 2010 you never expected this to happen, very nice!
yeessss thankl goodness
The original beast.
That bass drum part, my brain cannot compute
Like This!!!
Gonna be epic...is that still a word thing? ;-)
Ah yes, the man who should be drumming for dream theater
🔥
Holy. Hell.
Lang HAS to play in some deathcore/djent band! :D
Would actually be sick though
not talked about enough is how fast those groups of 9 are...lightning
No kidding! I'm always amazed how fast Thomas is playing straight heel down. His ankles are cracked out lol!
@@MattJFilms he's in a class of his own
Beast.
That is all.
Thomas is a fucking beast!
"THAT WAS OKAY!!"
I wish Lang would release some within the void video from way back when
So insane…
speechless
He handled that surgical section perfect. Can see why it took so may tries now 😂
I APPRECIATE THE SURGICAL SECTION A LOT MORE NOW
I was wondering
that was (more than) okay
0 dislikes, let’s keep it that way
THAT WAS OKAY!!!
dude plz watch his right hand at 0:33-38 WHAAAAAAT.
