    thanks so much for the video. Even though I will not be putting in myself (I have a great plumber), it tells me the setup and how it should work.

    Do I see a bidet in the bathroom? Your daughter is lucky. With the exception of having used one in Europe visiting family and then my parents added one when they renovated their bathroom many years ago, I have never seen one in anyone's home. That will be on my list when I redo my bathroom some day.

    Lol. Things you should have done is add silicone to those wall plugs any unwanted seepage can go behind any water proofing and behind the tiles and cause so much damage. Also using a drill to tighten your screws... If you add to much torque can easily crack the tiles especially ceramic or marble. best to get close to fully tighten it and do the rest by hand. Also I'd avoid gettjng so close to that wall with shower bracket often the plumbing behind the walls follow the edges of the support plates. Take it from a plumber

      As well your instructions should give you a clear indicator of what size bit you should use rather than drilling bigger holes every time. I agree using a smaller bit is good for a pilot hole though

    Thank you for taking the time to record this installation video. Clear and concise. I'm wondering if it would have made more sense to install the shower slide bar a bit higher so that taller people in the family can also use the hand shower. Yes of course this is an ideal height for your daughter but she will outgrow it in no time.. As well the position it's placed now, most people will always need to remove the handheld shower from the slide bar to use it. It won't be possible to use the handheld shower fixed and hands free since it's way too low.

    Great video, really helped me to install my own. I know this is a year old, just wanted to know if you need to caulk around the two wall contacts? I have a similar slide bar and worried about water leaking through the screw holes.

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Рік тому +1

      I'm glad the video was helpful! While it is not a requirement to add caulk around the screws, it is always a good idea to caulk around the wall contacts to prevent any potential water leakage. It adds an extra layer of protection.

    How by not using silicone or any other type of sealant could you be sure there's gonna be no water seepage behind the wall - really unpleasant stuff it might be as i often watch videos on failed shower membranes, water deterrent treatments etc... Especially shower curbs are sensitive points

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  2 роки тому

      Really unpleasnt stuff there with failed shower membrane etc...and this is why we added a rubber sealant Inside the decorative flange, to prevent water from going through.

    great video but how do you make sure you don't drill into a water pipe behind the wall?

      You don’t need up drill that far .75 inches to 1” max . My instructions say nit to go all the way into studs so you would never hit one.

    Wish I could find a video on how to remove a slide bar system. The house we bought has a slide bar with the hose connection at the bottom of the bar. I hate that thing and want to put in a magnetic shower head. Can't find a video anywhere on how to exchange those

      Unfortunately, we do not have a video showing how to remove slide bars, but we'll be happy to advise further if you can send a picture of your setup to our email. Our support email is contact@theshowerheadstore.com

    Nice job, thanks for this. I have a fiberglass shower stall I'd like to install a slide bar in. I'm thinking that the butterfly-style anchors would be the best option. What do you think?

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Рік тому

      Honestly, I don't know much about the fiberglass showers but what I do know is that you would need special anchors and we do not know the anchors needed for these. For that reason we do not recommend purchasing these for fiberglass showers.

    How do you know what type of tile you have? Is it safe to always use the diamond head drill bit if you can't determine it?

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Рік тому

      A carbide-tipped masonry bit is the best drill bit to use for bathroom ceramic tile. Regular twist-drill bits can't cut through the fire-hardened glaze.

    Can this product be installed in a prefabricated (fiberglass) shower?

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  2 роки тому

      We recommend using a 3/16" tile drill bit to install the slide bar in tile for now. Adjustments may happen in the near future.

    • @Saved-qv2ow
      @Saved-qv2ow 2 роки тому

      Yes, you can install these on fiber glass, use good wall anchors or toggle bolts. Also, these bars can be stuck on with 3M VHB water proof - Double Sided Tape, if one doesn't want to put holes in fiberglass; before pressing down, make sure its where you want it!!

    You missed the most important first step.....Blocking the drain!!! Good-bye Mr. Set Screw! Also, did I miss the part where the hose was connected to the wall? THAT is what I came here to see. Maybe they connect themselves......

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  14 днів тому

      Thanks for the feedback! The hose can be connected to either a shower arm, a universal holder amount, or a 3-way diverter depending on the setup that you are going for. The video in reference show you how to install a slide bar.
