  • MARSOC Marine Raiders | United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command
United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) is a component command of the United States Special Operations Command that comprises the Marine Corps' contribution to SOCOM. Its core capabilities are direct action, special reconnaissance and foreign internal defense. MARSOC has also been directed to conduct counter-terrorism and information operations. On 6 August 2014, MARSOC claimed and officially bestowed the prestigious Marine Raider moniker upon their subordinate combat units (Marine Special Operations Regiment) in commemoration of the fabled and elite amphibious light infantry unit that operated during World War II.

I understand you admire these soldiers. So do I - I admire them more than just about any other profession. But what part of their activities do you think 'keeps' you safe in America?
Afghanistan were not a threat to the US, Iraq certainly weren't. Neither were Libya. Most of the bombers at 9/11 were Saudis - over 90 % of them.
It's a more complex picture than just saying those guys keep us safe. They really don't. The thing that keeps the US safe is the overall might of the military. For any country to declare war on the US directly and try to land ground troops in the US - it wouldn't be a great idea.

I'm V1/7. First Team. Chesty's Own. I worked with Animal, Baker, Suicide Charlie, Weapons and Hide n Slide.
    I'm a POG.
They were 2nd Anglican. Hot shit. Nice guys. Professional as fuck, chill as hell.
They lost only one of their own and after that they really went on the warpath. Insane death dealers. Their area of Camp was accessible but separate. When we got resupply convoys they would have their own detail break off from the convoy and deliver directly to them instead of my area where we could stow gear in dry storage or the armory.
They had humvees that had mounted, traversing SAWs in the armored doors. MK-19s up top or TOWs.
    They were OFP for sure.

OORAAAAH MARINES!!!! The jungle, mountain range, desert, and urban warfare training is intense with no room for mistakes. Ongoing training throughout each year, makes them the killers U.S. Marine Raiders are known for. I believe if war breaks out in Taiwan, their terrain is similar to the terrain Marine Raiders battled on during World War 2.
If war does break out, Taiwan Marines will defend their homeland against Chinese forces. I'm just curious what operations U.S. Marines will take part of.

You know the Marine Raiders were the first ever actual special operations group created by the United States government but government disbanded them after WW2. Marines was always to be known as elite ever since its creation back in November 10 1775. Anyone who says different doesn't know know thier ass from their elbow, that's why Marines are different. That's why US Marines have so much pride, and rightfully so. In any case, glad the US brought back the Raiders. They are Green Berets and Seals combined, if you need to put a comparison. Marines kill that's what they live for. Ooorah Raiders and to all my fellow Marine brethren, Semper Fidelis!!
Oh yeah and US Marines do not quit or surrender throughout history. The only time Marines have had to "surrender" was in WW2, in the early stages of the Philippines and Guam(1941) when they were ordered too, if that command didn't come through the Marines would have fought till the last man. That makes Marines elite in my book.
Remember Americans don't need a Marine Corps they WANT a Marine Corps.

Lol yea those are all awesome, but why we even gotta call out the Coast Guard like that. What people don’t know is that those Coasties have actually done some amazing work themselves, such as getting into fights with cartels, raiding drug shipments, and are constantly saving lives all the time. And I’ve noticed that they won’t even brag about it, which makes them some true quiet professionals in my book.

When serving in the U.S.M.C, I had the chance to work with the U.S Coast Guards, they have some top notch snipers. I consider the U.S Cost Guard grossly underrated.

Although I am prior service and already have a strong knowledge of what the individual branches of service could put forward, after watching this I can say that they are just the Marine Corps version of the Army Rangers or Special Forces or SEALs. The difference with SEALs is that they are more goal-directed and stay together as one unit. But with each of the others, they break off into individual specialty groups. Keep in mind though we have Delta Force which unlike the Navy that will only accept someone from the Navy into the SEALs, Delta Force takes service members from all branches to create an all threat, all environment fighting force. Who's to say who's better in that case? They come from all the branches of service and must aspire to a higher level than what they had already done and their respective organization. Delta Force is often compared to SEAL Team 6 or DEVGRU, which is considered the maritime counterpart. All of them I think deserve mad respect! I would not want to meet one of them at a dark alley after drinking together all night and getting caught cheating at poker. 🤕

The US has so many so called special forces that can be directly associated with UK special forces. MARSOC/Rangers/Green Berets and Navy Seals are equivalent to Royal Marine Commandos and Paras. Seal team 6 and Delta are the equivalent to SAS and SBS.

Served from 71-75. The last few months as Battalion Administration Chief in the S-1, 3/7 H&S Co. San Mateo Camp Pendleton. Anyway, I got to go to a drown-proofing course at the pool at camp San Mateo. Had to jump off the tower full gear, strip it all off (down to my skivvies) and float for 8 hours without touching anyone or the side to pass. My question is, does anybody out there know what that was called because I'm 70 and I don't remember what it was called anymore. Thanks

The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13 They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings-and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.
