So nice to see you again. No place or life is perfect. You’re both young and have time to achieve more of your dreams. As you know it’s the journey that counts more than the destination. Yes you live in an area of older people who want and need more of your time. But at least you know you’re an acknowledged part of a community. You’re not missing anything being away from more services and ‘more excitement’. You both love being surrounded by nature and natural things and I think you enjoy all four seasons. I’m sure you’ll find more ways to make extra money. Your thinking of offering services to people wanting this life style is great.
So nice to see another video from you again! Beautiful, insightful, and wonderfully narrated as always! I'm glad that dispite many setbacks, you and your partner are thriving!
What a lovely gift - so happy to see a new video! I’d forgotten how much I enjoy your style. So glad you did the mental processing - it doesn’t mean the path is easy but you are moving forward in confidence. Brava! 🙂
So nice to have another video from you. Great changes in one's life bring upheaval in emotions, so it is no wonder you've been going through quite a lot. I am very appreciative of you sharing what you do, and making videos: they are so time-consuming! Cheers to you both, and your lovely silkies!!
I’m so happy to hear from you. I had been hoping yall are doing well. The chickens are so cute. I love how you cuddle with them. The place is looking great.
Thank you so much for this. My husband and I live in tokyo and we just purchased an 85 year old farm house and land in the mountains of Gunma and are trying to figure out how to get out there full time. Would love to book a consult with you if you are ever willing. :)
@fortunatenora Thank you so much for the super thanks! If I can’t help you, I might know some people who can. Feel free to email me more about your situation: bitsii (at) bitsiicreative.com Interested to hear your ideas. ❤️
Thank you for sharing your progress. Living a simple life is not easy, I have family who live off grid, so I've seen this first hand. However, the blessing that don't seem that obvious are actually the things that make my family happy. It seems like you are finding your happy too.
Homesteading is a dream of mine. Something I wish i could have started saving for years ago but now I am and looking at countries to potentially go to. Japan is high on my list and i wish you all the best luck
Downshifting its not new but definitely not for everyone. If you are feeling that it’s your way then don't regret a single day, just live for your own pleasure! My family can’t do things like this because of health issues so I’m glad that you can. God bless you and your family!
So happy to see a new video from you, and to see a little more of your beautiful rural life. To relate, we also had to scale back a little from our admittedly overzealous farm plan, to focus on primarily farming to support the bees. It's only human to do a little too much before you find your footing. Love those chicks ✨🐤
What a treat to find a new video from you! I always love the way you tell your story, both with the cinematography and the way you think about things. Also funnily enough I feel like my life in a lot of ways is very different from yours, running a small company and always being busy, hustling. But at the same time I find myself in the same sort of headspace as what you described: Questioning and doubting, worrying about money, but my thoughts always come back around to feeling in my entire body and soul that what I'm doing is what I want to be doing, even when it's hard.
Thanks for sharing this insights! I hope you will continue to make videos more often now. I just started following and am really curious about your future adventures!
You are so positive about the negative. I love it. What i do is make a list every day of things that need doing. Make a 5 year goal list (min 20 items) Get a group together called a mastermind group of local people to make something ti sell at the markets. Tornado twits
Thanks for a great video! I am in the process of making my final decision. Just watching your video, help me with some decisions as to what to look forward to. Good luck with all your plans. I look forward to watching more of your videos .
Working for someone else and trying to climb a corporate ladder goes against the natural order. We are supposed to generate resources for ourselves and some to trade with the community and a little for charity as most people will suffer a setback at some point in their lives and it behooves us to help others and recieve the help when it's needed. Growing food and making a little something to sell is such a powerful way to live. Good luck with everything and I will be following your journey.
I missed your videos and narrations. Every time I came to the channel to see if I could find something new but found nothing, I moved on with the thought: “Everything’s fine. She’s probably just living her slow life and not putting pressure on herself to post videos.” I’m shocked - but not surprised - by the mentioned level of minimum income for foreign spouses (especially for a country struggling with a rapidly aging population, dying rural areas, …). Where I am, there’s an obligation to provide for one’s livelihood - if possible. And as far as I know, there is no number attached to it, as needs are individual.
It is so good to see you and hear your voice and your story! ❤ Yes, life, this life, our lives, in these crazy times, the only times that we have, the most precious time of all, it is and has been so challenging, so full of Learning Opportunities! But, still, I can say, thank goodness, when I remember to breathe in and out, both, when I remember that, right now and most all of the time, there is not actually an emergency at hand that requires my dramatic, immediate action…. then I can remember how much beauty there is, how much that I have experienced for which I can be grateful. Thank you for reminding me. 🙏
I really enjoyed this video, it was nice of you to update us on your progress and it looks like your doing a fantastic job, I love your little homestead. I wish I could spend more time doing homesteading instead of working, keep it up 😊
It's wonderful to see a new upload from you. Thank you for sharing your journey, Bitsi. Life is truly about the journey and not the destination, as I found out, too. It's about upheavals, growth and calm. Then it repeats. Things fall into place the moment you don't over think or push too hard. I used to live in an 85 year old Spanish style house owned by my great grandparents in the countryside. And it was the most precious time before I had to move again after five years because of work. When things are difficult and you get through them, it feels more fulfilling and you gain more confidence to get to the next goal. I wish you all the best in your homestead life! ✨💖 Ganbatte!
I’m so sorry about your ducklings! It’s always hard to loose any of your beloved animals. Everything loves to eat them. So it helps to think of every predator that might want to get them and how they would try to get into your fence.
I've heard goose eggs are more flavorful and rich compared to (even high quality) chicken eggs. Is that your intention for geese? I'm too chicken (pun intended) to do what you all have done. Big thumbs up for your bravery and fortitude in this pendulum swing that doesn't return to center.
There are many paths we can go down to make our lives, but, ultimately to be self sustaining, neither relying on nor oppressing others must be the perfect state of being "Pangloss sometimes said to Candide: "There is a concatenation of events in this best of all possible worlds: for if you had not been kicked out of a magnificent castle for love of Miss Cunegonde: if you had not been put into the Inquisition: if you had not walked over America: if you had not stabbed the Baron: if you had not lost all your sheep from the fine country of El Dorado: you would not be here eating preserved citrons and pistachio-nuts." "All that is very well," answered Candide, "but we must cultivate our garden." ~Voltaire~
You need money for old age. Believe me. It comes fast and is not nice. And then to be poor ! You need to have a plan/money for old age. I went from good health to wheelchair in 2 years. You need to have mony🖖
Thinking of you, @emmaschulze. There is a rather famous homesteader in Japan who was living mostly outside of the system. When he had serious medical problems requiring surgery, it was quite challenging to deal with the financial aspects. No matter what kind of homesteading, a person never knows if they will have medical costs. In combination with the spousal visa issue, criteria of which they do take seriously, it's necessary to have the income for it to be renewable. I did what you did 30 years ago. It was a fantastic experience. But when my ex stopped working on the homestead and had next to no income, it became impossible. If I get ever a job that will allow me to move back (with income, and a wood burning stove, lol), I will!
I have missed your videos! I hope you are able to realize your dreams, and though your life seems hard, it also seems fulfilling. Best wishes!

The garden is so beautiful, so fresh and peaceful. Designing your own garden is the best thing. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.

I was just thinking the other day if i had missed a video :) so glad you posted!

Love your videos, Bitsii, you’re our weekly chill session here at the office 💜🙏🏼
Good luck!
Ty for the video.
Bitsii in inaka...so beautiful your place and your video, my name is Yuni from Indonesian 😊
Wow it’s all been worth it in the end it’s a beautiful spot good luck❤🦘🐨
Way too anxiety riddled for me to find relaxing. But I hope they find a balance that works for them and calms. ❤
Just beautiful 🩵
Beautiful 😊
Your voice over is reminiscent of Diane Lane in "Under The Tuscan Sun". Very enjoyable. Thank you.
Wonderful 🌹❤️🌹
Wherever you go, there you are.
I’m so sorry about your ducklings! It’s always hard to loose any of your beloved animals. Everything loves to eat them. So it helps to think of every predator that might want to get them and how they would try to get into your fence.
Nice music to go with the video.
Thank you :) glad you liked it
Only the addition of chickens could have possibly improved your wonderful channel!
❤❤❤
What if self-doubt is just the gentlest nudge, urging you to find your truest self?
I've heard goose eggs are more flavorful and rich compared to (even high quality) chicken eggs.

We haven’t received any yet but I know they are huge! And I look forward to making an omelette. 😮
Actually the first intention is just for them to eat the weeds below the kiwi trees and deposit their .. uh … fertilizer 🤓

Love the video but the filters in the video are sacrificing its Beauty. I hope you make more videos without the filters, let it be more colorful
No money no honey 😊😊 great ideas but when you need money for your ideas then all these loose value
New here. Where do you live?
Welcome! Ehime in Shikoku, Japan. ;)

Sorry you lost a baby chick.
He is definitely not a builder. You need a real man.
