when you go to town TALK TO EVERYONE! diplomacy is really useful for making money. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS - max out knowledge on ALL skills 1st - ALWAYS! when you get to level 10 talk to wife and reallocate NO points to knowledge!
My knowledge perk is what I max out in my skills first because it reduces grind. I do hope that hunting wisent and bear gives more xp in later updates. I mean rabbits can be 1 point maybe 3 for deer 4 for boar 5 for wolves and 10 for wisent and bears.
lol i have noticed that many of the videos on youtube due to the fact that this game is in early access and is fairly regularly updated means that 99% of all content related to this game is either dated or entirely innacurate certain skills have been completely removed and others have been added along with different requirements for production and money making.
Just a note about Farming. It seems with the most recent patch, fertilizer and seeds are now required for your villagers to farm now too. Not sure if that'll effect your build.
Surely you'd want to spec up the knowledge by 3 on each one until you get to 10 and then use the wife to respec the trees and distribute as you have done here.
Killed a ton of wolves and boats but only a few bears and wisent. The combat doesn’t seem hard enough to prioritize the damage mitigation perks in my opinion. Does strong as an oak affect item health as well as player health?
You were born a peasant. Peasants didn't own castles. Royalty was something you were born into, not something you earned. Castles would make absolutely no sense at all in this game.
@@LincolnRon You could be a castellan for a noble even as a peasants son. It wouldn't be your castle per se, and if you greatly outstepped your charge you could be ousted by force if necessary.
@@Paltse Then there would be no dynasty. Castellan is not a position you can pass down to your children. Although the Dynasty part of this game doesn't match reality. You could build a tavern that your kids could take over or teach your children your skilled career like being a carpenter, a tailor, or a blacksmith. But in this game the son of a farming peasant becomes as rich and powerful as a nobleman without any knights or noblemen noticing. (And killing him or throwing him in a dungeon.)
@@LincolnRon What? Being a castellan prevents you from marrying and having kids? That is the characters legacy and dynasty that may be wealthy peasantry origin, advancing to middle classes.
miner is better in higher levels but lower levels its wood cause you need tons to get the building going..after the building is pretty much done then change to miner..talk to wife to change
I disagree about Survival skills as damage in almost meaningless as it’s so easy to get healing herbs, at least one you get Survival Sense, and since they weigh next to nothing you can carry a bunch, or just harvest them when needed, except during the winter of course. I also only put two points into Survival Knowledge, simply because by that point you level that skill extremely fast anyway, so I start pumping the points into Survivalist and Athletics. Reducing food/water usage benefits you constantly, and IMO reduced stamina drain, and being able to run longer, is far more useful than taking a little less damage. Damage from the animals really isn’t that bad, just last night in my new play through I was jumped by 4 wolves and with just spears was able to kill them all by backpedaling as I killed them and was still at almost 50% health when it was over. Then I just clicked my left Alt key, grabbed and ate 6 healing herbs and went back about my business.
@@Dare_To_Game yeah, I wasn’t sure when I started playing either, but when I restarted I remembered that health was rarely an issue, but it seems I spend half my game time out of stamina, although at least it refills fast once you stop running. This is actually why I built my base closer to the starting town when I restarted. There are a lot of great areas for building, but until we get horses, the need to regularly go back to the starting town means it’s best to build near it. One way the devs could solve this is have the main quests be transferred to a character in whatever town you build closest to, so your not stuck going back to. I just found your guides today, and have really been enjoying them, to many creators will just discuss the traits they suggest, and never really say much, if anything, about the rest, so their videos only help those who do exactly what the creator did. Your videos, IMO are much more useful, as even those who decide to follow a different path than you suggest will still benefit from your content. Subbed.
@@Dare_To_Game do u know why I can’t place a recourse storage? I literally spent an hour trying to and removed like all the trees and stumps but it still says there are obstacles blocking building
I agree with you, athlete will save you more then strong as an oak and solid as a rock. Considering how healing works are both strong as an oak and solid as a rock quite useless.
From with I can tell, you don't need seeds at all if you have NPCs doing your farming. So those skills seem like a waste to me, unless you do all your own farming.
General rule of Thumb don't put points in any skill that is labled with WiP they are mostly don't work. I can see it players respec in spring pick Tax Optimization to pay Taxes and then respec again. xD Survivalist i dropped real quick food is never a Problem except the first 1-2 Hours of Gameplay, Strong as an Oak Meh would switch it with Athlete the rest is ok.I would Switch Baker with Builder the les durability Loss for the Hammer is Huge in my opinion. But to be Honest when you reach level 10 you don't do stuff yourself except you get stupidly bored and just want to do something.
Yeah, once you're maxed out and have a big town, you pretty much just have everyone else do all the work. Im to the point in my current playthrough where i just go hunting.
I'm going to be straight up. I'm not far enough into the game to have 10 skill points in any category, but why would their ever be a limit in a game that is all about progressing yourself and your town over time. I feel like the micromanagement of your skills probably seemed like another cool thing to manage, but I don't see it as a good part of a game where I personally want to do a little bit of everything and want to have all the skills.
I don't know man, I get where you are coming from and maybe the game could have a freeplay mode of sorts, where your character is basically immortal and you can pick whatever skill. On the other hand I really think that the main mode should remain as is, because it fits much better with the narrative that you will die and then your son and further on your dynasty is gonna take over and each member of the family could skill up differently, depending on what they decide to do with their life.
@@d.w.m.a.5897 I guess that's true as well. I appreciate your opinion and I guess that makes sense. I'm not sure how long it takes to completely level everything but I think my character will still have a long life ahead of him by that point. I'm sure the whole skill system will have massive changes in the future, and I'm excited to see what they do with it.
Elder Scrolls really had it figured out when it came to skill progression. You would never need to waste a point on improving your woodcutting or mining time, because they automatically improved as you did them...I wish MD did it that way
since you can RESET your points, choosing this for the beginning isnt good...you should put 3 on the faster points, and then when you reach 10, ask your wife to change it, so i agree with your choices , but only after maxing each tree...

I can’t wait for horses. It will make the game so much better.
I definitely agree. It will be a great addition.

If they add a horse, they should extend the size of the map too, this game has a lot of potential
Fast-Forward running.., with a LOT of extra steps…
dude, your intro is beast!

It seems like the ''Vegetarian'' and ''Catcher in the Oat'' perk don't work? I have it, and it still always uses 1 seed per plot.
At tier one I'd put a point into Hunting Knowledge for the increased points per kill to help level faster.
Is there an up to date version.

Strong as an oak seams to just be player health.

Yep. Once you are married, you can go to your wife and have her reset each skill, you'll get your skillpoints back and you can redistribute them.
