"Will you sing with me each morning?"
"If you'll dance with me each evening."
Is far more beautiful than how she's going to be his little lovey and little turtledovey like I just saw on another video.
I was trying to find this one again.
Glad I finally did. ^___^ (sits down to watch for the third time in one night)
By the way I like having the English words both sung AND on the screen. Just in case we didn't hear everything.
Covers all bases, you know? ^___^

I think these particular English words are really cute. This version is very adorable. Bravo and brava. ^____^
I didn't realize until now that the show itself is presumably called "The Manga Flute". Not just the video.
This is a *different* children's and families' version. I think they didn't have this one yet when I was a kid.
    So cute. 😍

They seem somehow more friends with each other than in most versions too.
Perhaps it's because it's for the children but they do really act like they actually like each other and care about each other (not just acting like lovers or people who are dating or whatever).
And that...just makes it *even more* adorable. 😍
(collapses on the floor under a birdwatcher's cage/basket of adorableness 😍)

I think the 1975 Swedish movie is the only one I've seen so far that's as cute or even cuter. ^___^

    This one seems more romantic.
A lot of versions are cute and silly, which is good too, but I like this better. 😍

The tenor's voice is excellent! Love the rich timbre to his voice! Makes me think hes more baritone than tenor. Either way, those two have great chemistry together! Great performance!

This has the highest concentration of puns, therefore it's the best.

I didn't notice at first that they even were singing in English.
What do you think of that?
Anyway, the singing and acting are stunning, in *any* language. ^____^

There are numerous English translations of Schikaneder's German libretto. Some of the older(19thC) ones have fallen out of favour as they sound dated.

In addition to the extremely insightful comment above; this is also a key of Bel Canto singing, in which artistic liberty is encouraged. Different lyrics can mean the same things but be said many different ways!

@@MrSwifts31 you understand what a singer says, even in your own language? Of course not. Or not much. You always need under-titles with operas. Each language has its sound, its rhythm. The English sound is awful when you compare with German. They should respect the original libretto in German and under-title in English.
But that's English speaking people. Lazy in learning and speaking foreign languages...Lazy in getting interrested in other people's culture. American crush every other people's culture into their own. Has a french film success? American won't see it in its original language but will want to shoot it in american with american actors. American people have no culture but money and supremacism.

@R Che: Not true about America and you've posted the exact same thing before. That's called spamming. Are you trying to get reported for it now or what?

What a shame to sing Mozart's Zauberflöte in English!!!!!! It doesn't sound good! Pityful!

He originally wrote The Magic Flute in German so it could be understandable to the general public. How dare an Opera be accessible to the general public and not in a foreign language! How despicable for an art form that is already deemed inaccessible to the masses to be suddenly more accessible! I am horrified and disgusted!

    • @julistarling8382
      @julistarling8382 2 роки тому +1

Exactly. Why shouldn't it be equally as accessible to the American public as to the German public?
