    I still think Ronnie will be around for a couple more years even if it is just the WSC that he attends, although I hope he will keep playing competitively for much longer. I'm also excited to see what up and coming stars will emerge from China since it has really taken off over there and it shouldn't be too long before they begin dominating the ranks I believe.

    Fabulous. Two great player writing nicely the modern history of this so loved game. All at all made beautifully, but somehow the comments .. Dennis Taylor miss the real essence.. and we feel confused, about other commentators they are pleasant, they deliver accurate and precise few words, just what the game is, great as they was as player! Wonder why they never introduce really young players so we can have kind of fresh air.

    Well if the game is still around in 100 years i think someone has to surpass him, especially with what is happening in China at the minute. I mean why would anyone pick up a cue if they didn't think that one day they could be the best?

    ive watched a couple of ronnie games and i dont get why people are so hyped up about him when he misses so many shots. still he gets so much cheer from the audience while the other guys gets none but scores really nice streaks and hard shots.

      you answered your own question, you have seen a couple of Ronnie matches? Ive been watching him since 2004 and ive seen snooker not played at the level he has. Try the Masters 2005 when he battered Higgings with a 96% pot success to get to 10 frames which is unheard of, his Match vs Hendy in the 2008 SF of worlds was another master class or recently try the Walden match in the Masters where he played snooker perfectly or Trump final in Champions of Champions where he just made one visit snooker
      Ronnie has built this support hence why even when he is playing ok he still gets applauded. They know his levels and appreciate his greatness

    • @nuntana2
      @nuntana2 10 років тому +2

      I don't think you can fully appreciate it if you've only watched a couple of games of his. I've been watching snooker for 40 years and seen them all come through. That he misses shots -- of course, he's human -- but there has never been anyone else with the raw talent, to take a year out and then win the worlds. One only has to take note of the praise heaped on him from other great, like Davis, Hendry etc al, to understand the impact he has.

    After Trump's foul shot, Ronnie was snookered. Even though he could see a bit of a red, he needs to see a full ball. Does that clear things up for you?

    they have to specify which ball they are hitting because if he hit another colour, say the brown instead of the yellow, it would be a foul shot

    Little rule question. Does anyone reading this think that the 'foul and a miss' rule will be changed soon/ever.(now) I understand that the rule doesn't want a player missing on purpose for a hard position for the opponent, but some are bare misses or creative shots. I've seen Ronnie ask If I do this will it be "a foul and a miss?' Referee 'Take the shot and I'll decide', R.O 'You can't tell me ?' 'Take the shot and I'll decide' R.O shoots. Referee 'Foul and a miss.' The miss rattled the jaws. (Different match than this.)

    31:32 free ball? Ronnie can see the red ball any help

    • @shunka9
      @shunka9 8 років тому +1

      You have to be able to hit BOTH sides of the ball you're aiming for. The red to the left of the pink is covered by the blue, the one on the right hand side cushion is covered by the green but the one that you're probably referring to is the one next to the black. Because of the position of the black there is no way that Ronnie could hit the left hand side of the red ball, hence it's a free ball.

      If you get a freeball, it's possible to make a 155 break

    • @fivos833
      @fivos833 11 років тому

      ***** a break is potting consecutive balls in one turn so you cant break more than 147, but you can have a higher total score in a game. My questions is has there ever been a higher total score than 147?

    • @TheSkelf
      @TheSkelf 11 років тому

      fivos833 Jamie Burnett made 148 break about 10 years ago in a qualifying match. I think that's been the only one in professional play

    • @Whitecoolmagic
      @Whitecoolmagic 11 років тому +2

      Pyroklokker You can. If your opponent fouls and you cant hit red full ball it will be a freeball. You can take any colour as a freeball which is 1 point and then you can pot any ball you want. To get 155 you have to pot 1 Freeball 1 Black and then all reds with black and colours.
