There is an age differents therefore osullivan played hendry in the middle and towards the end of his carrer so osullivan leads the head to heads, hence osullivan is still playing whilst hendry is Retired. You can not say a player is the greatest because you prefer his style of snooker, its the glory that counts. Osullivan is a very close Second!

Of course sports man and woman of today and tomorrow are going to be the best ever and competing at higher and higher levels, thats obvious! Forget theJoe Davis era the woman of today would beat him and he had virually no competition during his reign. Hendry compteted against the best players on the planet during his carrrer , Davis , White, Parrot etc. Ok Hendry is the most sucessful player ever and i personaly think the greatest and so does RoS. Today’s players play in lovely air conditioned arena, no smoking or talking or moving. The Tables are perfectly made and set up and the Cloth is super fine for speed and accuracy the balls run true and today’s cues etc make the game a lot easier. The Joe Davis era well need I say more the tables were Horrid the cloth was like carpet and the Balls were inconsistent, the Joe Davis era had no learning aids, no videos, no books, no slow movement cameras , and no You tube or Google to show you how to apply running side or screw the ball back the full length of the table which was impossible in there day on the thick cloths. There is a argument for all era that’s why you go on achievement, success and Titles.
so hendry eclipsed steve davis for world titles won because the conditions were better lol? i dont know where your going with this mate but i wish you the best anyway. to wrap it up you think hendry is the greatest ever player, and thats fine you have the stats that say he is the most succesfull so far, so no argument there.. really depends what you get out of the sport i suppose, my opinion is ronnie can be whatever he wants to be and eclipse anything steven did in the game at a canter because he has that gift, in my lowly opinion the 3 greatest players to play the game are higgins white and ronnie,, the stats say otherwise but hey it`s a beautifull game sometimes.

Hendry has more world titles, and ranking titles but Ron has more masters, more UK championships, more centuries, more maximums, more triple crown titles and holds almost every record under the sun other than the world titles. Hendry was better match player with more belief and a better temperament but Ron is a much better player in terms of ability. He has more centuries and more maximums, so thats break building, and far much better safety because Hendry never even played safety, potting I would say that they are equal. But I would like to see how many titles Hendry would have won being manic depressive or dealing with a fourth of what ronnie had to deal with during his career....
