    Its been gaining in popularity but the Forever Notes method for Apple Notes is pretty game changing for how to navigate the app. I dont use Apple Notes because I cant use markdown, but its still a great way to organize your notes

    I love Apple Notes. I love the simplicity, clean look, capability of organization in folders and it's fast and intuitive UI. I have taken all my university notes on it after trying OneNote and Notion; I still use Notion, but not as a note-taking app ironically, more for organization. My favorite thing is the synchronization and how QUICK it is, you just open the app and write, unlike Notion which you have to wait for it to load, and the open the note; and also that if you want, you can export it as a PDF easily.
    I just have two little complaints: the inconsistent synchronization, which sometimes take too long between devices, and one time I had to re-synchronize all the notes in iCloud because an entire folder wasn't appearing on my Mac.
    The other thing, is the lack of a Windows app, which I understand why, but personally I use an older Macbook for university, I have a iPhone, and I have I gaming laptop at home which I use for all other things, and it would be so useful to have that app. There is a browser app, but it lack key functions like inserting images or downloading them as PDFs.

      I relate to your experience. I’ve tried many apps including Notion and the exact same thing happened to me. To me, Notion is much better at organization than note taking. Thank for sharing 😊

    I'm in the process of determining which note taking app to use. I'm a former Android user and am exploring the 'Apple Ecosystem and apps'. You're video brings it back to the essentials. So I'll start using Apple Notes. Thx for the 'back to basics' approach. Good luck with your channel.

    For sure Apple Notes is by far the best notes app for the majority of users. I still love Obsidian but I can’t bring myself to fully abandon Apple Notes-it’s just gotten so good!

    Apple Notes is one of the major reasons why I find it difficult to move to Android. I wanted to buy a Z Flip but my notes being available easily on my Mac and iPad makes it a seamless experience.

    precisely, it is so fast to search and works well for people with Mac and/or iPad. For personal use it is awesome and I believe apps should have proper functions: reminders are like a checklist notepad, with usually disposable items, notes are more permanent and so on. You don't need to integrate everything.

    I totally agree. Apple Notes should be the first option to consider when it comes to building a second brain. Since it's a default app, people chalk it up as "not good", or even "not for pros". Right now it currently holds all of my journal entries, portfolio references, and more. Along with the PARA method, it can become one of the best assets for a creative!

    Apple Notes has a major flaw: it is tied to the OS, which becomes an issue when your devices become out of sync - I have no doubt this is intentional. Although, you are correct, the tables are not "as bad as you might think" - they are *worse*.
    To be fair though, there are some very good insights in this video. Thinking about notes from the point of view of what *you* need to achieve with them is where one needs to start, rather than chasing the shiny setup that others have created for themselves.

    I started with Notion, then moved to Obsidian. In both I created overly complex and intricate “pkm” systems thinking this was what I needed to be more “efficient” and more “productive”. Switched to Apple Notes a few months ago. I actually like the “limitations” that it (supposedly) has because I am less likely to overcomplicate my pkm again. I can use ***some*** formatting (like 2 levels of headings) but not too much. I can link my notes if I so choose, but I will be less inclined to link everything to everything else, which I did in Obsidian (and which proved not as useful and “life changing” as some UA-camrs will have you believe). Also, it turns I out I enjoy handwritten notes, and I now refuse to use an app where there’s no such option.

    • @destina.gokoglu
      @destina.gokoglu  День тому

      Exactly! I love handwritten notes and Apple’s limitations are great because I’m less likely to get distracted. Thanks for sharing 👏

  • @mister.tomfoolery

    I used to mistake intricate organization systems for productivity, and then I realized that it was actually just distracting me from being productive. Apple Notes just makes note-taking simple, and that's really all it needs to be.

    if a user has both Apple and Android devices, only 1 Note works seamlessly with both operating systems. So for many, Apple Notes, excellent as it is, might not the only note taking app they will ever need.

    Hi Destina, agreed with your points, the most simple you keep notes, the more useful they are. I use windows for work and my notes live in Onenote, but for personal I use Apple notes only. In the past evernote was my main note taking app but now even with the improvements, works bad in my opinion. I like the PARA method from Tiago Forte, but even this doesn't fix our personal needs, and we all have different ways to organize our stuff.

    You miss the point of notion completely. Just because you can take notes in Notion, doesn't make it a note taking app. if all you needed was a rudimentary note taking app, then all you need is apple notes. you should try and compare like for like products in the future.

    I think you’re comparing the wrong type of apps to Apple Notes. Notion isn’t really a “notes app”. I would say Microsoft OneNote is more the equivalent to Apple Notes. The problem with Apple Notes is the “walled garden”. Many of us use Windows at work and have friends/colleagues that use Android. Sharing/collaborating is nearly impossible. OneNote is free and platform agnostic. It does most everything that Apple Notes does as well. Just my 2¢

    • @destina.gokoglu
      @destina.gokoglu  3 дні тому +2

      I’m comparing popular apps that people are using nowadays. Lots of people use Notion for note-taking and back in 2020 when I started using it, Notion was mainly a note-taking app. Now it’s extremely versatile but that’s another topic. I, too, use apps from Microsoft at work but unfortunately their UI design is not good enough for my taste. OneNote might work for some people but not for me. I mentioned in the video that if you need collaboration you should go for something other than Apple Notes. Notes app is perfect for personal notes. The main idea is to prioritize simplicity and not overcomplicate the process. Thank you for your comment!

    • @hagen-stoll

      @@harlock75 I'm NOT talking about a one time task. If you collect many notes over time (In my age I have over 20.000 notes now - I use DEVONTHINK) ... now imagine you collected many many notes ... maybe 200 cake-recipes. All single notes in a folder. THEN you're stuck in Apple Notes. You need an add-on to export ALL notes ... and the procedure sucks. You'll get there, believe me. Don't stay with APPLE NOTES. (unless they change it in the future ... nobody knows) ... (thx for your answer)
