A little feedback: Video & audio quality- excellent Content- excellent Structure & presentation - excellent Tips section with illustration- excellent One of the best presentations on any topic i’ve ever seen. Sub and liked. You might want to do a video on how you make videos.
Wow thank you so much! Really appreciate that feedback and really happy with those comments! Glad to have you on board. I’ve big plans for the channel so I hope to only keep getting better! I enjoy the production side of putting a video together so I hope that’s helping me produce some quality content 😊
Not specifically but if you regularly switch between specific note you could create note links in each which would give you a quick link to jump between them. If using on an iPad when multitasking you could also open more than one Note at a time and then switch between them as separate apps. On a Mac you can open notes in new windows to work on more than one at a time.
Great. The Apple ecosystem offers really every productivity solution. I am using notes daily in collaboration, but you still showed me some useful tips.
A really good overview of what Notes can do. Many features that most people probably didn’t know about. I tried adding some features as you mentioned them but I found that swiping down from the right always opens notifications and the Home Screen not the control centre so accessing Notes from there doesn’t work.
Great tutorial video to help me use Notes more efficiently! To-date, I have only been able to use some basic features of Notes. I will have to try using the others like Tables, Drawing & Markup, etc.
It’s so much more powerful than people realise but it does take time to learn everything it can do. Once you practice and get used to it, you can use it for so many things to help you organize your life. 👍
Quick Note NOT in control center. I could swear that it used to be. Im running 18.2. Dont see anything in app settings to help. I do have it on dock, tho dont recall how I got it there.
I’m now on 18.2 RC on my iPhone and iPad. I just checked and quick note is an option to add in the control centre for me on both devices. Very odd if you’re not seeing that control.
Hashtags inside notes combined with smart folders is my favorite feature. This way you can quickly make a note, hashtag it at the bottom then move on. When you come back later you know it will be in the expected folder
Thanks so much for the amazing tips!! I hope Apple changes the placement of the *Format Toolbar* of the *Notes* layout in iPad, and keep it like where it was in the past. So, instead of the *Format* being at the top of the *Notes* layout, it will be at the left side of the keyboard in iPad! I don't understand why Apple placed the *Format Toolbar* at the top! It's a terrible layout design for the iPad. Whenever I want to format any of the text in the notes, the Keyboard covers half of the screen AND the *Format Toolbar* pop-up window covers the rest of the text at the top too! I have no idea how my editing or formatting of the note's text looks like since BOTH the keyboard and the *Format Toolbar* pop-up window covers the whole text. In the past, at least the *Format Toolbar* was in the left side of the Keyboard; The pop-up window only covered the list of notes on the left side, and not the whole Note's text you're editing on the right side, and it was very convenient. At least let Apple make the keyboard disappear so we can see the whole text and how it looks like when we choose the correct format, like how it does in iPhone.
What method are you using to saved a Note as a PDF? This is how Apple say to do it, I tried this and got an exact copy of my note: - in the note, tap on the share sheet Icon. - select Markup. - From the markup screen, tap Done, then choose Save File To.. and save the file to a location. You should then be able to open the saved PDF. Note from a note I choose share sheet and then ‘Convert to PDF with Acrobat’ this doesn’t work and it results in unreadable characters in the output.
That would be a useful feature. I hope that Apple bring more functionality like this to tables to make them more useful than just a simple layout tool.
6:42 - you can’t “literally draw anything on your notes” oh if only it was this way. I’d love to be able to draw/write with pencil ANYWHERE on my notes, typed tex5, as you might make handwritten notes on printed typed notes. Instead, Apple Notes creates a breakpoint for new sketch/pencil markings/scribble. And only one of these break points per note is possible.
@ I still use Apple Notes (& pencil) extensively, iPad mini with pencil, iPad Pro 11” with keyboard, for both work meetings and personal/home notes. Both devices are my own personal devices but I choose to use for my work meetings - less intrusive/barrier than a laptop. I just wish Apple would update the functionality of Notes to allow pencil input to be properly anywhere on a page. Notes has been updated constantly over the years, albeit in very small increments, but this, or at least allowing for more than one break section per note, would really increase its functionality
I’ve noticed this too. A workaround to scan documents that seems to have lower file sizes is to scan documents directly from the Files App instead. Perhaps Apple will address this in a future update!
Quite true. I consume on UA-cam but only specific content that is informative, educational and that helps me develop my skills. So I think it also depends on the type of content you choose to watch. 🙂
I do not use Notes for one simple reason. It does not have visibility on Apple Watch. Most common usage I have on the Bear app is for shopping. Unlike all the other shoppers who are staring at their phone, I have two hands free. It's really a big whiff by Apple not having Notes on Apple Watch.
I’m with you on that! Even the basic ability to check off lists and view notes would be super useful! I’ve just started using Reminders for my shopping list, so I wonder if that’s something useful instead?

That's one of the best tutorials i've ever watched!!!
Wow thanks! It’s my first full tutorial so that’s great to hear! Is there anything else that you think would be good to cover?
@@NickDZ😅Calendar, Reminders how to use them all in conjunction with Notes.
Great, I do have some more planned covering Reminders and Calendar so watch this space!

Is there a quick way to move between notes? Is there a way to swipe to next or last note?
Not specifically but if you regularly switch between specific note you could create note links in each which would give you a quick link to jump between them.

Glad you liked it. What iOS version do you have?
@ 18.0.1 on both iPhone and iPad
Excellent video! So thorough--most vloggers would have split this into two or three videos. Well done!
Thank You! I wanted to try to capture everything I could think of into the one video!

Thank you, really great, concise commentary.
You’re welcome hope it was useful!
Great breakdown. Thanks!
Great! What’s your favourite feature?
Very practical. Thank you.
Great really glad you liked it. What’s your favourite notes feature?

Just excellent thank you for this

Very nice, thanks. I appreciate your work

Once you learn how to use these quickly as a habit it really can make a difference!
really helpful and clear

My notepad document reformats when saved as pdf or printed. How do i get it to print exactly as it looks on my ipad?

It's sad that in tables can't sum columns
That would be a useful feature. I hope that Apple bring more functionality like this to tables to make them more useful than just a simple layout tool.

That’s a good observation. I may plan to feature more in depth reviews of specific tools such as drawing to highlight any positives and negatives!

The scanned files are huge though

👌
0:18 But evidently it doesn’t spellcheck.
Haha yeh I spotted that after uploading..! Whoops! 😅
Well it does with apple intelligence
Typo in one of your titles 'powerful' has one L
Thanks, yeh I spotted that after uploading, whoops! 😅
